My name is Bernd, and I’m from southern Germany. I’ve been coming to Florida regularly for over 40 years now. I built the vacation home in Matlacha seven years ago because this little island is a hidden gem on the west coast.

The beach house style villa with direct water access is located on the idyllic "Old Florida" fishing island of Matlacha near the towns of Cape Coral, Ft Myers & Naples, in the heart of a conservation area in the Gulf of Mexico next to the well-known former Pirate Islands Sanibel & Captiva, counts about 700 islanders (including artists, musicians & fishermen) and is connected by a bridge to the mainland, 'A taste of paradise' away from the tourist bustle.
