We are headed back to Rome in the fall, and wish we could re-book this amazing place, but alas, it’s already booked for our dates. We’ll have to plan further ahead to find an opening to stay there again.
The most spectacular feature of the apartment is the top floor. A large and comfortable open-plan living room/dining room/kitchen has 2 terraces, both of which have amazing views. We generally used the larger terrace with its views of the Pantheon, Sant’Ivo, Sant’Agnese and yes, St. Peter’s. But the smaller one – with a view of the dome of the Gesu – was great for morning coffee because it faces east. The kitchen is very well equipped with all the eating and cooking equipment you could want. No American coffee maker, although there was a user manual for one, so maybe it just got lost somewhere along the way. We got good at making coffee with the classic stovetop device. It’s a bit of a steep staircase up from the lower floor, but not a big problem. On the lower floor where there are 2 bedrooms, we used the larger of them and it was very beautiful and comfortable with a good bathroom.
The location is fantastic with a grocery store right across the street and a good osteria next door. It’s a convenient walk to just about everything in the city center. And after a day of sightseeing, what a treat to return to this apartment, pour a glass of wine and sit out on the terrace!
