The Rental:
Clear communication with the owner, easy check-in, realistic photos, efficient AC, comfortable bed, reliable WIFI and cable/Netflix, good water pressure, well stocked kitchen utensils and appliances bear in mind you get what others left behind, we had to buy salt and sugar. Big new fridge.
Convenience store in the building, overpriced and limited choices. Restaurant on site but on the expensive side. Clean not heated pool, great beach on the north side(right) however very powerful undertow.
The location is a 20 minutes bus ride to the Malecon aka middle of the action, one way 10 pesos, very convenient and reliable, last bus leaves Malecon by 10:15pm.
Being in the hotel area you are away from shopping centers and supermarkets. Walmart and Costco are 200 to 300 pesos Uber away, or an hour by 2 bus.
Use Uber from the airport.
Oceanview to die for.
1 USD= 16.4 pesos in the city or 13 at the airport, mid December 2023
Whale watching from the balcony is wonderful. Cash...no credit cards.
Building and unit show age, sofa not comfortable. Steep 2 ft wide staircase leading to bedrooms .. mobility issues??. Clean and functional? Absolutely yes. Cleaning fee 1020 due on check out not clearly mentioned prior to confirmation.
The City:
Except Beer, everything else is very expensive compared to Canada (and consequently to the US). From the toothpaste, groceries, OTC or Rx meds, gas, alcohol...even at Costco or Walmart... everything is pegged to the USD. Explosive gay scene inDT
