Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was clean and well maintained. It’s on the south side of the island which is a bit rugged as far as beaches go. This property does not have beach access, you must have a vehicle to get to the beaches. The closest access is St Andrew’s Park. We found the best food to be on St. Simons island. The Fiddler and Bennie’s Red Barn were our best meals. We’ve been coming to Jekyll for over 25 years. The shops at Westin are such an added bonus now. The Beach House restaurant was beautiful and the live music was very good. However, the service was not good. We waited over 2 hours on food. The wait staff said they were transitioning over to new ownership and there’s been a few kinks. So maybe that will improve. The realty company gave complimentary chairs and an umbrella which was very nice. The property furniture was not well maintained. Many of the drawers were stuck and the bathrooms needed some work. Doors were worn excessively and some tile had damage. Overall it was ok.The back patio was not clean and tidy. There was a lot of dirt, debris and overall unkept.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house had plenty of room for our family. it was well stocked with kitchen essentials as well. furniture was comfortable. however, there was some health or safety concerns were noticed. the master shower stall door on the bottom had mold and scale build up. The wall and trim on the lower left entryway to master bathroom had mold growing up the wall and trim. The ceilings in the master bathroom, and childrens room had flaking popcorn ceiling falling down and also appeared to have moisture coming out of the vents. i would not stay at this property again for the price paid because of this. i would not recommend to friends or family unless i knew the mold and ceiling was fixed.

It was stocked with everything you could possibly need. Located on the southern end of Jekyll close to St Andrews and Glory Beach. We saw deer, opossums, frogs, raccoons, and lizards all in the back yard. Check in and check out was a breeze. Can’t wait to visit again.

It's like staying at your grandmother's beach house.

Generally, this a run down rental. We had fun but our advice is to update, declutter and fix the obvious broken & worn things.

The staff at Jekyll Realty were very friendly and accommodating. Went above and beyond. The house was not in great shape as far as cleanliness. Hair on the shower walls, crumbs on the tables and floors.

Excellent very comfortable, kitchen well stocked. Fantastic spot next to St Andrews Park and almost private beaches. A good time to go before Memorial Day and not too hot!!!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Lovely island, nice and quiet location close to great birding and beach access that's perfect for long walks. The management company was helpful and easy to reach by phone. The home, however, may be a health hazard with what appears to be black mold in the vents and interior doors that show obvious evidence of past flooding. Carpets and older upholstery are quite stained and dirty. Entry and hall tile have cleaner wear paths down the middle and obvious grunge on either sides. Wallpaper is moldy in the kitchen and there are toast crumbs in the kitchen drawers. Dishes when we arrived had clearly been put away dirty, including a coffee cup full of bacon grease, upside down in the cabinet. Secondary bedrooms are in better shape than the master. While we'd go back to Jekyll in a heart beat, we would not stay in this home again.

Quiet and peaceful

This is an older home, but it has what is needed. It has lots of space. The location was perfect. An easy bike ride walk to beach or fun. or You will kill the occasional roach or palmetto bug as they like to call them at the beach, but that seems to be common at every beach house.

You won’t be disappointed with your stay !

The property is exactly as pictured. The check in was a breeze. I received a welcome bag with basic amenities which was nice. I stayed here for a wedding and had a wonderful time.

Could improve

Location and size were great. The home could use updated kitchen and bath(s). The sliding glass doors (dining room, living room, bedroom) were mostly inoperable, but the kitchen door was a suitable alternative to get to the back yard. Small patio, but great bird watching.
