Stuart is a special place. We moved up from South Florida in 1982 to get away from the rat race. What we found in Stuart was natural beauty, low density growth, a sense of community and lots of water. Stuart has an inlet to the ocean, the Intracoastal Waterway, and the north and south forks of the St Lucie River. There wasn't much here in the 1980's but over the years and through thoughtful planning, our town has grown to include commercial areas (great shopping and restaurants) and our charming downtown areas. Many of the small area beaches on Hutchinson Island were purchased over the years to allow for a quiet or active choice of beaches. Environmentalists have had a great deal to say as to how Martin County was developed. We have a four story building limit here so we will never be drown out by towering condominiums and much of the natural beauty has been preserved.
Our home was built in the 1930's. That is very old for Florida. We have renovated both the house and cottage but love the quaint charm of that era which makes this property so special. We love the location, too and the proximity to stores, restaurants and the beaches. Many activities are within easy walking distance. The cottage is your home away from home. Everyone loves it. We supply everything you will need, chairs, beach towels and bikes to explore. Everything is so much more interesting from a bike, as life slows down and doesn't pass in a blur. There is a gas weber BBQ in the front garden, so bring the candles to the outside dining area for a romantic evening or pack our picnic back pack for a beach outing. We have a washer and dryer for your use too! We try to make this an experience that you will never forget.
