Took my family of five on our first trip to Italy, which began in Venice at La Levantina. Talk about a great first impression. The property is exactly as advertised. With the sofabed, we were able to accommodate our three older teenage sons. The secure, private courtyard was a welcome bonus. One of the highlights of our entire trip was an impromptu dinner in the La Levantina courtyard, adjacent to an iconic Venetian canal. The area around the property was wonderful with many shops and restaurants and it was not terribly crowded. Simply felt like we were part of a neighborhood rather than a bustling tourist area.
Roberto could not have been a nicer host. From my very first email inquiry, he communicated promptly and clearly and provided detailed instructions for check in/out as well as valuable recommendations for getting to the property. I had mapped out the route ahead of time based upon using the vaporetto from Marco Polo airport. I was pleasantly surprised to find a text message from Roberto's assistant, Allegra, upon our arrival at the airport letting us know that she would meet us at the waterbus stop to escort us to the property. Didn't have to worry about getting lost and a pleasant conversation as we walked to the property. By the way, it is only about a 5 minute walk from the Guglie stop to La Levantina.
My only regret is that we did not have enough time to stay longer to explore and enjoy the area further. Regardless how long you stay, you will find La Levantina a wonderful place to start your day of exploring Venice and a comfortable and picturesque place to enjoy your stay upon your return.
