For our vacation this year we wanted someplace quieter, a little less commercialized, with good beach access, & where we could include our dog. Some friends recommended Indian Pass, and we found this property with available dates & a good rate. It was just about everything we hoped for. This house is set in a quiet little neighborhood, two streets back from the beach (about a 2 minute walk), but backing up to a marsh. I particularly enjoyed taking the dog for a walk on the beach at sunrise, then sitting in the screened-in porch drinking coffee while watching the birds in the marsh. We actually spent a lot of time on the back porch reading & playing board games, even though the house has very good AC. We ate most of our meals at the house, taking advantage of the kitchen. The nearest actual grocery story is a 20 minute drive into Port. St. Joe, but there is a general store just around the corner from the house which stocks most of the essentials. The beach was great, not too crowded, with moist, packed sand that was easy to walk on & not too hot. We only had two minor issues about the week: a) the weather, which is always a gamble in FL this time of year, and b) the relatively weak wifi. If more than a couple of us tried to log on at a time, things really seemed to bog down. But since one of our goals this trip was to unplug and unwind, the WiFi issues probably helped us to spend less time on devices & more time interacting. We’ll definitely consider staying again.
