Great place to stay for our first trip to Maine! It was continently located within an hour of the Bangor airport and Acadia National Park. The house had a great layout and had everything we needed. We loved being able to go down to the water and watch sunset. Mark was a great host and was able to answer any questions before and during our stay in a timely manner.

The kids really enjoyed the cabin and access to water. A good location to get to Acadia park as well without being too close.

Best VRBO I have ever stayed out.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting!

Rocky Haven was the perfect getaway for our family! The cottage was extremely well appointed, the hosts were super helpful and friendly, and the location was absolutely beautiful. We loved the fire pit right on the water and were enchanted by the haunting call of loons. The big screen TV was also fantastic!

Amazing Haven

Everything was wonderful, Rocky Haven was an amazing lake house that had everything we needed. Mark and Laurie are amazing, kind, and quick to respond to anything we needed. My family had a wonderful time fishing, swimming and enjoying the area. I would stay there again and again.

Perfect Lakeside Base for Exploring Acadia & Bar Harbor

Rocky Haven was the ideal spot for our Maine getaway — peaceful, private, and just a short drive from Acadia and Bar Harbor. We loved starting and ending each day by the water, whether paddling on Toddy Pond or relaxing on the screened-in porch listening to loons.The cottage had everything we needed, clean, well-stocked, and super comfortable. The location made it easy to explore nearby coastal towns, then come back to quiet and calm. A great balance of nature and convenience, we’d absolutely stay again!The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, helpful when needed, but respectful of our privacy. It really felt like we were staying at a family friend’s lake house.

This was a wonderful place for a family vacation by the lake If you want easy, private lake access, your own firepit lakeside, canoes and kayaks available for use, and several great places to sit and relax while you get away, this is the place. This is one of three homes on the property so it's not completely isolated but all were recently built, well furnished with everything we needed, easy to get to, and exactly what we were looking for. There was plenty of space for our family of four and it was an easy 40 minutes to get to Acadia. Not a lot of close by dining options (at least 10-15 min away) so would recommend cooking at the house. Would 100% stay here again.

Toddy Pond Vacation

This is great property! A quintessential Maine lake front property but with all the modern conveniences of your own home. Newly constructed, perfectly equipped, extremely clean and well-maintained grounds. The property has an awesome screened porch which is a must have for those early summer nights in Maine. The hosts were extremely accommodating and responsive during our stay. I can't say enough good about the property and our 10 day stay. I will definitely be renting again.

Relaxation and Beautiful Lake Sunsets

Very relaxing. Hosts are very kind and friendly. Great location with antique stores close by. Bar Harbor is a short drive with whale watching and Acadia National Park. The house was nice with a large screen porch with a beautiful view of the lake. The dock has 2 benches for watching the stunning sunsets. The interior of the house is nice and clean. We wish we had more than 7 days to stay, We loved the cooler summer weather. Thanks again for helping us make memories for our family

Very comfortable and beautiful views!

We had a great experience with the owners and renting it for the week. I wish we had more pots-pans & lobster pot as well as serving dishes. For entertaining others while staying there. The Doc was such a help getting in the water and out. We really enjoyed it. I would highly recommend renting either of the houses. We left a couple of things we thought others could use such as 2 laundry baskets since there is a washer/dryer. I feel like Mark and Laurie were thoughtful and friendly and made our experience even more special. We bought local blueberries and added them to the pancake mix and used the maple syrup they had for us in the welcome basket. They even had a thoughtful note. We couldn’t have asked for any better - Wonderful Experience!

As to the lobster pot, we had one last year that got broken and we had a difficult time finding one to replace it as a result of Covid's supply and demand shortages. Tradition worthy!

I have never been so excited to leave a review before! We knew the place was going to be nice, but we weren't prepared for how amazing everything was. The view was beautiful, the house is phenomenal! So many little details made everything so special. Mark was so helpful and full of knowledge, and we couldn't stop talking about his amazing craftsmanship building the cabins himself! Plenty of room for all 4 adults and 2 kids, too! The amenities were perfect, plenty of pots and pans and all the things we needed to have the perfect stay. We took the kayaks out which was a blast and I'm so grateful for them being available to guests. There was even toys for the littlest kid in the cabin and by the lake, which he really loved. The fire pit was cozy and made for the best evening we had our whole trip! So much laughter and memories made, we all agreed we hoped it becomes a tradition to visit Rock Haven!

Beautiful stay in Orland

This cottage was in a beautiful location right by Toddy Pond. The cottage was perfect for our family and we were able to use the kayaks and fire pit while staying there. We met the owners and they were very friendly and helpful, and made sure we knew any details about lights, heating, where to find things, etc. I would absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful house on the lake

We had a wonderful stay and got to see beautiful fall colors! We visited Acadia NP twice and neighboring towns. Was a perfect place for the 7 of us! The kids loved playing at the lake. Overall great stay!

Beautiful lakeside retreat!

This property is beautiful. The house is clean, neat and fully furnished with all the amenities! They have thought of everything to make their guests stay more enjoyable. We enjoyed having breakfast on the back deck overlooking the lake and warming up in the evening with a nice fire in the lakeside firepit. It was so lovely to have access to the kayaks and canoes for our leisurely days. This location is quiet and peaceful and slightly off the beaten path but very easily accessible to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The owners made themselves accessible incase we needed anything or had any concerns during our stay which was wonderful. We can't wait to come back again!

オーナー : Mark and Laurie Fowler

Mark is an entrepreneur, a retired minister and former professor, husband, and proud father. After living overseas for 14 years in Ecuador, we returned to our home state of Maine. Mark likes to sail, fish, paint and play pool. Laurie is a musician, writer, wife and devoted mother. She likes to read, hike, garden and cook. We enjoy going out to new restaurants, sightseeing, traveling, going to movies and concerts together. Our favorite destinations to date have been Mexico and Italy, and we look forward to visiting the British Isles one day. We have been married for 45 years and have 4 children who have all flown the coop but come around every so often with our seven grandchildren; all to our great delight!

Though situated just 7/10s of a mile off Route 1, it is such a peaceful and secluded spot here. The lake is deep and clean and the fishing is great. Nearly every evening and morning, loons can be heard gently calling across the water.

Though secluded, it is really close to so many of the sights people from all over the world come to visit.
