This unit is right on the boat entrance to the harbor. Years ago I lived in Depoe Bay and spent time on the docks. Staying here brings back a lot of good memories. The unit is clean and very functional, but nothing fancy. It could use several things to make it more guest friendly. A coat rack near the door, an umbrella stand, a box of Kleenex, a charging station to charge and set phones, iPads, etc on. The shower head in the tub needs to be fixed as it just shots out a heavy stream of water no matter what setting it is turned too. As I said, the unit is functional and I enjoy staying there, but there are amenities that could be added to bring up the rating.

Nice place to stay, it was clean and friendly. All the photos are from the upper apartment, we had the lower apartment, still has good views of the ocean, but not quite what we expected. Also had no shower soap, and no coffee. had to make a run to the store. I would suggest at least having a. single coffee pot pod available!

We enjoyed our stay in the Gardner Family House number 2. I would recommend looking into the bathroom fan. I believe it needs to be cleaned or replaced. Pretty noisy and I'm pretty sure that's the issue. Others left comments about the ledge at the bottom of the window in the bathroom. It isn't designed well and I can guarantee water is slowly getting into the wall from the shower head. I would suggest looking into repairing it before it dry rots the wall. The directions left by Meredith are pretty generic. You can't start a load of laundry because there isn't a washer or dryer. You can't start a load of dishes because there isn't a dish washer. It didn't bother us but the instructions don't follow what amenities are available in the Gardner house. We didn't use the fireplace but read about complaints about it. I would recommend putting a cover plate over the fireplace or maybe change it to an electric one. People don't know how to use fireplaces anymore and I wouldn't take the risk personally of having guests starting fires. You don't need the heat. Maybe convert it to an electric or something but there is plenty of electric heat in the house. I posted about our stay on Facebook and quickly realized one of my co-workers Jean Nichols was a relative who used to celebrate many holidays in the house when she was growing up. Small world. We enjoyed our stay and these are just suggestions if I was the owner of the home. We plan on staying here again. I really enjoy Depoe Bay!

This home has stunning views with it being ocean front! It has easy access to restaurants and shopping. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather to enjoy watching the Whales right out in front of the home. It was very clean and had all that we needed. Although we stayed in the bottom unit we never heard the guest above us. We have stayed in the top unit before as well both are a great place to recharge.Beautiful sunsets right out your front door. Depoe bay is between Lincoln City and Newport which are short drives to enjoy other activities! Highly recommend either of the units!

The best place in Depot Bay. So many whales and their babies. Close enough to walk to all the restaurants and shops.

The TV in the bedroom doesn't work. The house smelled musty. There is no dishwasher or washer and dryer, but it was not advertised with those appliances. On that good side, the views are spectacular, and the living room is very comfortable. Also, you don't have to pay for a whale watching trip because you can watch them from your living room!

The view is amazing!!!! My only feedback would be to upgrade the mattress' (both twin and queen) as they were very soft, and not the most comfortable.

Amazing views!!!

The view here just can't be beat! The house was clean and cozy, really liked the recliners to watch the waves from.Only downside was the beds. Both mattresses felt pretty old and worn, and the queen bed frame was noisy and wobbly.If the beds were a bit better, this is easily a 5/5 house. Would still stay here again though. Thank you for a lovely weekend!

Quick birthday trip

Beautiful property and view, great location! The house was clean but I do not think we will stay here again until a few things are checked out. We did have problems with birds living in the wall of the bathroom and made the bathroom loud and smell. We could not figure out where the heat was coming from. It may have been the people upstairs but it was very warm and humid. The most important thing to note are the mattresses, they were incredibly uncomfortable.

The View!!!!

You can’t find a better view for the price—where you have a fireplace and a kitchen. The place is clean, spacious for two, a small outdoor (non fenced) grass patch for dog’s early hour “needs”, and a wonderfully walkable location to neighborhoods AND to the main drag of Depot Bay. We will be back. Loved it!

We had such a nice stay:)A cozy home with a gorgeous view, and the host Meredith was the best!Even with stormy weather and rain, it was nice to relax in front of the big bay window and watch the fishing boats and could watch the blow hole splash 20 feet in the air.One night we intensely watched the Coast Gaurd waiting for the violent waves to calm enough to make it through channel.Good restaurants and food everywhere!

Beautiful location

We've stayed at this rental twice now, and we enjoy the location and proximity to town. This stay, though, there were several disappointing things happen. When we arrived, there was no toilet paper in the house, only one bath towel, and a bunch of used dog poop bags left by the front door. Not the best welcome to the house. While our contact was apologetic, I had to go out and buy toilet paper.... which is really expensive in a small coastal town. Towels came the next morning. Small details were missed, and I understand mistakes happen, but our stay would have been better had we not had to deal with all that. The location is beautiful though, which is why we stayed here a second time.

Great view!

Overall, our stay was pleasant. Location is amazing, great view and close to everything in Depoe Bay. A couple of cons, uncomfortable beds and people can be heard walking around in the upstairs unit. Despite the cons, we would stay here again.

Ocean View Getaway

Amazing location and view was spectacular! House is outdated andLR chairs not very comfortable. Rug in the LR was filthy and needs a good cleaning! Bedroom was comfortable and bathroom was fine but could be updated! We really didn’t use the kitchen ( so many good restaurants in walking distance.. It looked very well quipped! Can’t talk enough about the grounds and views! It was a great Birthday weekend celebration! Thanks!
