Wonderful little escape

Staying at this poolside cottage was great. Everything you need is there. House is clean and pool was very enjoyable for swimming and hanging out. Good communication with owner. Thumbs up!

Cozy. quiet and cute!

What a delightful place to call home for 10 days! At the foothills of the LA National Forest, yet only minutes from the shops and culture of Pasadena and a 30'ish minute drive to LA, it was the perfect blend of urban/suburban living. Overlooking a beautiful pool and landscaped yard, this cozy cottage has privacy despite its close proximity to the main house. The accomodations were sparkling clean, the bed (and sofabed) extremely comfotable and we had all the items needed to feel at "home" away from home. My only request - a couple of wineglasses next time, Herbie! I loved every minute of my vacation in this adorable place - despite the record-breaking rains that drenched us for most of the stay. I will look forward to my next visit and thank Herbie and his family for sharing his lovely place with us!

Read ALL the instructions!!!!

I had a family reunion in Alta Dena so the location of the cottage was perfect, near family and the park where we had the reunion. I came at night and the street is very dark so make sure you are familiar with the area. The communication with the owner was great until after I checked out. See advice below: ADVICE: Although this is a dog friendly rental, please read ALL the instructions or you will be charged extra if your dog gets hair on the furniture, poops or pees in an area not designated for it, plus other things. Cleaning up after your dog is not something this owner wants to do and will charge extra for it!! Again be sure to read all the instructions!!! No the cost for maintaining all of that is NOT included in the dog fee!!!

Comfortable and convenient

Felt Bamboozled

Overall, I wished I would have stayed at my usual hotel. First time I felt deceived by the Description and Reviews. Did not even get close to the "luxury" hotel comparison in my opinion. There was no comfortable place to sit, and minimal storage space for personal items. Most drawers and cabinets had stuff in them. No sharp knives. Coffee maker had broken lid on the carafe and no filters. One of the overhead lights was out. Agree with last review, just wish he would have given more explanation as to why.

Location, location, location

We enjoyed our stay at the cozy cottage. It was exactly as advertised and priced appropriately. Be aware that the full-size bed is against the wall so those with limited ability may have issues. We felt totally safe with this as our home base as we visited with friends and enjoyed the Pasadena area. We would book again without hesitation.

I loved the fact that the house was a back house and in a very quiet neighborhood. My only problem was the fact that the property was also listed on HomeAway and the information about getting into the house was listed on that web site. I would rent the property again.

What a great place! As soon as I walked in I knew I was going to enjoy my stay. Herbie's place is maintained so well including a kitchen and all the amenities needed for a more-than-comfortable stay. It truly is clean, quiet, private and cozy. And the residential location is ideal. Herbie is very accommodating and communicative. On top of all that, the wi-fi is xlnt. I look forward to staying here again on my next return to L.A.. If you choose to stay here, you will not be disappointed. ~Thanks Herbie~

Nice stay in Pasadena

It's a small but efficient little pool house nestled in Alta Dena. Pictures reflect accomo. Fully working kitchen etc., double sized bed it can be a little tricky to get the temperature right in winter and misses a couch but I'm sure it'd be awesome in the summer, especially with the gorgeous pool right outside. Herbie is a very accommodating host and does some interesting art, also on display in the house.

It's in the perfect location and natural sitting for a couple or a small gathering or event. You will see a wood pecker, raccoon, skunk, etc.. It sits in the rear on a large lot with orange trees, large pool and mountain views, plenty of yard space for those who are traveling with small to medium pets.

It's safe and you do not even have to lock your doors. Wifi and Cable and also pet friendly: Please note: All friendly and well trained pets are welcomed with an additional pet fee of $139 per pet.

*Please: Do not allow pets to sleep on furniture, but bring your own pet bedding and there are designated areas for pets to use the bathroom in front of the home but not on the green grass as the acid from dog urine quickly yellows and kills the grass and it is mandatory that you clean up your doggies poo-poo.

Please note Event Terms: If you would like to have a event, baby shower, birthday celebration or film the max number of people is 30 (including current guest occupants) and the event is $1000. All music must be off by 10 pm and all people must vacant the property by 11 pm, in the event you fail or violate this agreement by even one minute and you agree to pay an additional event fee of $500, and you further agree that the hosts or representative thereof may enter the property for the purpose of taking photos of occupants and dismissing all persons (including You the Lessees) from the premises and you agree that the lease is terminated immediately upon violation of the terms of this agreement and no refunds will be issued. If beer bottles and or cigarette butts are found on the exterior of the property and in the yard, you agree to pay and additional cleaning fee of $150. Please know and understand what you are agreeing to before you make this commitment.
