We stayed at this charming cabin for three nights in the heart of the White Pass ski season. The cabin is perfect to get one in the mood for a get-away-from-it-all ski vacation. Kitchen fully stocked (crock pot included) and the owner is generous with sharing his spices and any condiments in the fridge. Nice flat screen tv for when the ski day is over and you want to unwind by "vegging out" and watching the selection of DVDs. Owner was readily available via text message to help answer any questions or walk us through the various remote controls.
Only drawback was that while cabin had internet satellite, for some reason we could not get or stay online...it may have also just been the winter weather, or a sign that we needed to unplug :)
One of our favorite features of the cabin was the wood burning stove and readily available pile of kindling and firewood that the owner obviously spent time chopping and stocking for his guests. It sure kept the cabin cozy and warm while we watched old classic movies, had fondue, family game night, and sipped wine.
Another great feature is the outdoor barrel sauna (it literally looks like a big barrel), which we did not wind up using because we are not really sauna people (more jacuzzi people), but I can see how if you like a good dry sauna, this would be a huge added benefit.
Lastly, the beds are super comfy - there is one king in the master bed, one queen, and two twin bunk beds. There were three of us on this trip, and it was plenty of room...we definitely could have added a couple more people and still been comfortable. One bathroom, which was not a problem for our group.
Best part of our stay was that extra personalized touch...the owner was very accommodating and hospitable from beginning to end, and we definitely plan to stay at the Cabana del Oso (Bear Cabin) again!
