We love to travel and meeting new people. We enjoy fine wine, trying new food and diverse cultures. We strive to provide a great experience for an affordable vacation. We are blessed with 3 grown daughters, 5 grandchildren, 3 amazing son-in-laws and a few, fun vacation spots that we love to offer guests at a valuable price. As a host for the past 26 years in our own home and now with short-term rentals for the past 11, this may be one of the most noble things we can do. In a world where there is division, hostility, and cynicism; being able to welcome people into an environment we’ve created for them and doing so without prejudice, judgment, and hopefully learning from and sharing with others —is an incredible phenomenon. If only more host stories could be told to counterbalance the more cynical view that we take on in this world, we’d be better off. That’s what I come away with in this whole journey and even more now since I've been operating short-term rentals. My children have been given an opportunity to learn and exchange culture at a very young age; even extended family and school community participated as some of our guests taught in the school. We believe this helped guide our children and community to a better understanding to life and multicultural differences yet we all learned, grew, and benefited from the relationships formed. It wasn’t my intent to better myself, but I really do feel like we have benefited more than we give.
