The house lies at 200 meters from the village of Villa Collemandina in a beautiful hilly area of Tuscany (50 Kms northern of Lucca). It has been restored with elegant taste. The location on an altitude of approximately 550m, grants a very pleasant and not to hot climate also in the summer. From the property you have fantastic panoramic views on the Apuan Alps. The property is an excellent destination for a relaxing holiday and visit the Garfagnana area with it charming villages, great scenic drives, walking-hiking (we suggest in the Orecchiella Natural Park) and other outdoor activities. It’s at the same time a good starting point to visit Pisa, Lucca and for a day at sea (the Versilia Riviera is 60 kms away). The main nearby town is Castelnuovo di Garfagnana (at 9 kms) and has many restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, supermarkets and weekly open market on Thursday. The property has a large garden (mostly lawn) and a 12 by 6 meter pool (depth 1,4 meter). The whole property (house, pool and garden) is for private use of the tenant. The villa is suitable for max 8+1 persons (4 bedrooms - 2 with double bed and 2 with two single beds). It's possible to add a folding bed in the bedroom on the ground floor (this has already 2 single beds). On the ground floor there is a large dining/living room with well equipped kitchen, the bedroom with 2 single beds and en-suite bathroom. Next to the living/dining room there is a terrace with table/chairs and sun umbrella for outdoor dining. From here you have a panoramic sight and view on the pool area. There is also a barbecue to cook. On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Wi-fi internet connection available. All common household appliances are available (washing machine, dishwasher, fridge / freezer, TV, oven ....). Grocery store, bar/restaurant La Bottaga and pharmacy are available in the village of Villa Collemandina, at walking distance (around 350 meters) from the property. There is a supermarket at 1,3 kms. More shops and restaurants are available in Castiglione di Garfagnana (2,5 kms far away) and Castelnuovo di Garfagnana (9 kms). Here is also big supermarket (open every day from 8:30 to 20:30 and on Sunday from 9 to 20) near Gallicano (18kms from the villa). The golf course of Golf Club Garfagnana is 9 kms far away. Tennis lane and horse riding at 3 kms. There are 2 wineries at 13km from the property, Cantina poderi di Garfagnana and Cantina Bravi Alesssandro.

Forelsket i Villa Collemandina

Fantastisk hus og en uforglemmelig udsigt. Vi var 8 mennesker afsted, og der var rigelig plads til alle. Der er lidt at køre hvis man skal id og se noget og rigtig meget bjergkørsel, men heldigvis ingen turister i nærheden. Helt igennem en fantastisk ferie.

Bra generationsboende i trevlig bergsby!

I utkanten av byn Villa Collemandina ligger detta boende omgiven av vackra ängar. Byn är mycket liten, det finns bara ett apotek och en bar (som i och för sig nästan är en liten affär med chark). Inga restauranger eller matställen. Men huset är försett med ett rejält kök och vi gillar att laga mat. Vi var ett typiskt generationssällskap och då passar detta huset perfekt. Fyra likvärdiga sovrum med egen toalett och dusch. Kök och vardagsrum i rustik stil. Uteplats med utsikt över poolen (bra koll på barnen). Veckan vi tillbringade i Villa Collemandina vart väldigt lyckad och till detta bidrog boendet och de hjälpsamma värdarna. Absolut ett ställe vi kan tänka oss att komma tillbaka till. Något som skulle kunna förbättras är de plastiga utemöblerna som inte riktigt höll stilen. Bra att känna till också är att engelskan inte alltid fungerar.

Schön für ruhesuchende Selbstversorger ohne grosse Ansprüche

Sehr ruhig gelegen, allerdings darf die Distanz zu grösseren Ortschaften nicht unterschätzt werden (z.B. keine Möglichkeit, im selben Dorf in einem Restaurant zu essen, bis zum nächstgelegenen Ort mit Restaurants sind es ca. 20 Minuten mit dem Auto, zur nächsten Stadt 60 Minuten). Einkaufsmöglichkeiten 15 Autominuten entfernt, allerdings sind auch diese Supermärkte relativ bescheiden. Der Empfang im Haus war super freundlich und Matteo per SMS/Whatsapp jederzeit für Fragen erreichbar. Das Haus selbst hätte etwas sauberer sein können (Spinnweben etc.) und ist für die ausgeschriebenen 8 Personen nicht ausgerüstet. Betten/WC‘s sind zwar vorhanden, allerdings haben am Gartentisch maximal 5-6 Personen Platz, es gibt 3 Liegestühle am Pool und der (sehr einfache Holz/Kohlen-Grill) ist für 4 Personen knapp genügend gross. Küchenausstattung ist in Ordnung, aber auch hier darf kein Luxus erwartet werden. Alles in allem nett, wir würden für den Preis ein anderes Mal aber ein näher bei Lucca gelegenes und moderneres, helleres Haus aussuchen.

Lovely house with nice views.

The house is big and well furnished. Has a nice backyard and great views. Our problem was finding it. When we would do google map , it would drive us to the same street in another village. We got lost a few times. The road to the house is a winding mountain road that takes over an hour after getting off highway. Very far from Florence and other Tuscan towns. About 3 hours from Florence and longer from Siena and other Tuscan towns. However very good for walking. A walking path right in front can go for a long time and is scenic . TV has no English Chanels and DVD player does not connect to TV. No screens on the windows, so bugs come in if you open the window. not more than one person can shower at any given time , water pressure gets very low..

Brilliant Villa with spectacular views.

The villa was extrnemely spacious with each room having an en suite as a luxury. The outside garden and pool area were fantastic and the panorama views looking out into the mountains was an added bonus. We had such a wonderful week and would dedinitely make a return visit. A great find.

Away from it all.

Arrival instructions were clear and worked well. One observation was that the lady who took our deposit had little English & we had basically no Italian. Thankfully her son Matteo was around and helped explain where we could park. I was surprised that there were no suggestions as to where to shop, eat etc as is normally provided. Matteo did text me some restaurants one of which we visited twice, Il Pozzo in Pieve Fosciana. The Villa has a large garden and a great pool, with plenty of space within. It is rather remote with Lucca around an hour away (this is the nearest large town). There are plenty of hairpins to deal with up and down the hills to get to the Villa. Rather disappointed with glasses available. There was ONE wine glass and one tumbler available (for 8 people) there were a number of smaller glasses, but quite a mismatch. We enjoyed our stay but would probably look for a Villa nearer to larger towns due to the travel time taken each day.

Wunderschöner Familienurlaub in toller Umgebung

Das Haus ist großartig und bleibt hinter den durch die Beschreibung geweckten Erwartungen nicht zurück. Der Pool ist sehr sauber und schön groß. Die 4 recht modernen Bäder sind ein angenehmer Luxus. Die Verwalter sind sehr nett und bemüht. Wir waren dort mit 2 Familien mit 2 bzw. 3 Kindern. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet, groß genug und hat allen gut gefallen. Man muss wissen, dass die kurvige Fahrt dorthin mühsam ist, weil es mitten in den Bergen liegt und daher fernab von den großen Fernstraßen. Aber der Aufwand lohnt sich, denn die Gegend ist wunderschön und nicht so touristisch wie viele andere Teile der Toskana. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt war, dass es kaum Mücken gab. Nur Fliegen, aber die stechen wenigstens nicht. In dem kleinen Laden im Ort bekommt das Nötigste zu fairen Preisen. Ein größerer Supermarkt ist in ca. 12-15 Minuten mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Wer die Annehmlichkeiten der Toskana in erholsamer und ruhiger Umgebung genießen will, ist hier genau richtig. Was aus der Beschreibung auch zutraf, war, dass es trotz großer Hitze am Tag (immer über 35 Grad) nachts abkühlte und so zum Schlafen angenehm wurde. Das ist ein weiterer Vorteil der wunderschönen, bergigen Gegend.

Lovely traditional Tuscan Villa

Great property, well equipped....traditional calming style. Lovely views from all windows. Children loved the pool, as did the adults. Perfect location for getting away from it all whilst being near many cultural and natural attractions.

Perfect house with private pool and large garden

We have had a really good stay. The house is perfect for two families with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen and large dining area. Private pool and a large garden. The wiev over the Tuscan hills is nice. easy contact upon arrival.
