Amazing view

Amazing view as it’s up high above the town. If you’re not use to steep narrow roads it can be a little tricky but after a day or two, we managed just fine. Roomy, supplies in the kitchen, great area of Kefalonia and nice bit of exercise walking the hills to a few restaurants.

Fabulous villa and location

Our stay at Villa Ionian View was a hugely anticipated trip for my daughter and me - and the villa did not disappoint. From the excellent comms with the owner to the beyond-stunning views from the terrace to the pool, the airy, delightfully appointed accommodation and the central, south coast location, everything was fabulous. So much so, that we are planning our return!

Lovely stay at the Ionian View

We stayed here for 10 days 25th -5th October. We really enjoyed the Villa, Pool perfectly sized and the Views are quite stunning and go on forever every day and night..Dining on the terrace was amazing, we ended up cooking on the outside BBQ about half the nights we were there...We had the best view and dined in style. Highly recommended. points; The driveway is very steep to park your smaller car, but is possible, we preferred just to leave it at the top of the driveway.The road up the the Villa is also very steep and it is a place you will definitely need a car. Loved the Villa. Thankyou Naomi...

Wow, amazing views, and close to beaches (5 minutes) and some really good tavernas. Only 30 minutes drive to Argostoli. We enjoyed some trips out and relaxing on the terrace and some good BBQs. Amazing sunsets from the terrace. Property is clean light and airy. Comms from owner really good and allowed us to have a slightly later checkout which made a difference. Thank you for letting us stay.

Great view, great villa!

We have had a lovely relaxing fortnight. The villa had everything you could need and the view was spectacular. The location is good for exploring all the beaches in the area and a taxi home from at night out in Lourdas is very affordable. A great place for a relaxing family holiday.

Overall we had a great time The downside was that there was building site next us and the dust and noise from the site and fumes from the machinery they were using made it impossible to use the pool and terrace during the day. Think we should have been made aware of this

This is a well located, pretty villa with breathtakingly views. It is close to the main town but far enough away to be rural and quiet. It is fully equipped for a fantastic holiday!

Heaven on Earth!!

This is the third time of staying at the Villa and each time is like the first, it is in a great location with all the facilities you would need for a successful family holiday. The pool is amazing and cleaned throughout the week, the beds are comfortable, kitchen does everything it needs too. Its always like home from home. Naomi and Chris are wonderful and will always try to help accommodate your needs which is fantastic. I highly recommend staying here!! We love this island and villa so much!!

Magnificent Villa

Ionian View certainly delivered, superbly maintained, spotlessly clean. The perfect destination, near to the beach and lots of lovely restaurants, we loved Lorraine's Magic Hill, and the Olive Lounge. Being on one level was perfect for us. It felt like a home from home. Naomi's communication was lovely, so kind and helpful. Angela the Villa Manager was on hand to deal quickly with a minor glitch. Very comforting. Kefalonia has stollen our hearts, wonderful people, and lots to see. Easy to drive to lots of wonderful places.Skala Poros Sami, all so beautiful, and an easy drive. No traffic jams here.Castle of St George, the cafe, The Castro, is splendid. So welcoming, and fantastic food, at great prices. So looking forward to returning next year. Thanks so much to Chris and Naomi for enabling this.

The villa has a great location with a fantastic view, the only thing it needs some maintanice.

Great.location. Hot water not on regular enough and had many cold showers in an evening, needs a good clean through with cob webs everywhere. Pool man came 3 times but did the minimum and also came unannounced, maid came but only changed bedding but didn't clean overall though we have had a good visit.

A beautiful villa perfect for a family holiday

The villa is beautifully presented with perfect facilities for a family holiday in the sun. The living accomodation was of an extremely high standard. The views from the terrace were breathatking and the pool was the perfect size for our 3 children. Coupled with the excellent location we were really impressed with Ionian View, especially when compared to our previous experiences in similar sized villas around the Med.

Incredible view, classy villa

I couldn't give this any less than 5* for many reasons. The view is incredible and it is amazing to wake up to every morning and return to during the afternoon. It is a wonderful experience to throw open the bedroom and lounge doors and go out onto the massive balcony. The villa is very well stocked with all that you will need and it is nicely furnished and set up to a very high standard. The villa is south facing and after 9 is bathed in sunshine. The air conditioning is efficient and quiet. The pool is nice to plunge into for cooling down but is not of any use for adult swimming. You must have a car at this villa. Vlachata is supermarket and restaurant free and the nearest are on the Lourdas road which is fine to walk to but stupidly steep to walk back from. Argostoli is an easy 20 minute drive away (as is the airport) and there are numerous beaches within a 10-20 minute drive. We wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Lovely villa with stunning views

Absolutely loved the villa, the view and Kefalonia. Arriving late at night it was somewhat more of a challenge to find the villa, but looking out on the stunning view the next morning was really wonderful and we didn't get bored of it every day. The villa is modern and well furnished and ideal for two to four, possibly more. It completely matches the advertised description, so if this villa has what you are looking for, you won't be disappointed. Angela the property manager visited on the first day and gave us excellent tips for places to explore. We met the cleaner at the end of the holiday also really nice. The pool cleaner was round a few times during the week and just got on with it and was gone. On top of that Naomi the owner was simply a pleasure to deal with throughout booking and with additional information and help on where to book a hire car. A car is a must, as you must explore the island, Kefalonia is green for a Greek island and the landscape is beautiful and varied across the island. Driving is easy and generally the locals are relatively polite drivers compared to back home. The roads are quite good, just bendy and rock strewn! in places. The road continuing up from the villa soon turns to limestone gravel, but it's great as are the views as you get higher and then you descend into a verdant hidden valley with a monastery, get there when the old and new churches are open, the insides are jaw dropping. Visit the winery round the corner and get a free tour and tasting. Spend time wandering around Argostolli, find a cake/coffee shop and enjoy. Walk along the waters edge of the promenade and throw bread to the fish. Oh did I forget TURTLES, I wasn't expecting resident Loggerhead Turtles in Argostolli, we saw them within five minutes of parking the car and had to make detours on several days to see them again, huge, graceful and beautiful. Take the 30 minute car ferry to Lixouri, it's a really cheap trip (something like 7-8 Euros for car and two people), find another cake shop! Basically we went nearly everywhere, visiting towns, beaches and spectacular views. Didn't eat in the same place twice and loved the food everywhere. Greek food is great for vegetarians, just ask questions and you'll find there are more options than you thought on every menu. Asos, Sami, Poros, Sami, Scala, Argostolli, Lixouri and numerous beaches, loved Kefalonia, and this villa was well positioned to explore it all from.

Fantastic setting

We spent a fantastic, relaxing week at this wonderfully located villa. The first thing that strikes you is the view---spectacular! The facilities were perfect for 2 couples, but the villa would not be suitable for young children (primary age or less). The pool was quite small, but ideal for cooling off! A car is essential as the tavernas etc are not really in walking distance. Local restaurants were excellent, especially Olive Lounge and La Mer. The villa manager (Angela) was very helpful. Our only criticism was that we had to provide our own dishcloth although there was a perfectly good dishwasher! We would definitely consider coming again to this villa

What a view.

The villa and pool have the most fantastic views that you can watch all day, and night. The villa its self is lovely and provdes all you could wish for. It was immaculately clean on arival and the linen was changed half way through our visit. The only thing that could have been a problem for us, if our children were younger, is that the second bedroom is not accessible from the main villa. It has its own front door but is accessible from the rear veranda. This is actually a bonus when you have older children. We had a trivial problem, not related to the villa! and the manageress went out of her way to help us. We couldn't have asked for a better service. We had a day sea kayaking with 'sea kayaking Kefalonia' which is situated in Trapezaki. We had the best day kayaking amongst the caves and accessing beaches which are not accessible from the land. This trip was well organised and relaxed with a fabulous lunch provided. We also felt is was good value for money. The cake shop at Poriarata is also one of Kefelonia's gems, with the best cake we have ever tasted. We also spent two lovely evenings at the the resteraunt at Trapezaki beach called 'Denis'. we would definitely recomend this villa to friends and relatives but would be very gealous if they went without us. We would definitely like to stay here again.

Peaceful and comfortable villa in a wonderful loca

We had a delightful stay in this beautiful villa. The villa was completely as described and very well equipped for a holiday stay. The view was fantastic, giving a real panorama with clear views over to Zante and mountains at rear. The property was clean and well maintained inside and out and both the owners and on site maintenance manager very helpful when we needed to get in touch. The local Lourdas beach was by far the best beach we visited during our stay and there was a good selection of places to eat at the beach and also in the local town. The weather was glorious and we would definitely be very keen to come back again to this beautiful villa. A car is essential.

We love it!

This is the second time we have stayed in this property and I have to say every time we leave it gets harder and harder. We love being there, the villa is everything we need. The space, the cleanliness, the pool, the amenities - I cannot grumble about any of it. The island itself and the location of the villa is perfect, the island had a power cut whilst we were there, and it still didn't stop us from enjoying the holiday, we ended up looking at the shooting stars for longer as there was less light pollution! Friendly locals, great restaurants, great beaches! Words cannot do this villa and the island justice - perfect. Please stay there as you will not be disappointed! we will be back!

Highly Recommended

This was a very relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings. An exceptionally well equipped villa - even including a wide range of CD's to enhance the relaxed feeling when sitting on the terrace, enjoying the remarkable view - either with breakfast, lunch or evening meal. All of these we enjoyed during our all too short week, as well as local restaurants, where the food was delicious and the service friendly and efficient. A car is a definite requirement - be prepared for hairpin bends every few hundred yards!!

Our 1st time in kefaloniaia & won't be our last! Ionian view was fantastic,we could not fault it.a beautiful place to come back to after a day of sightseeing. We didn't have one bad meal out in the 10 days we were there. Can't wait till we return next year.

Wow!

The title says it all! Stunning villa with stunning views. The villa has everything you could wish for, clean and very well maintained. Cleaners come regularly along with the pool cleaner. Great location, Naomi has provided some great tips in the welcome book to some great restaurants, bakeries and shops. The welcome hamper was a welcome surprise so a nice cup of tea upon arrival was most appreciated. Kefalonia it's self is a wonderful place with the villa ideally situated. I cannot say a bad thing about the villa or our holiday, we will most definitely be back.

Ionian view

Ionian view was our 'millionaires view' for 2 weeks. It was the most wonderful villa with great amenities and breathtaking views. The downside is that you have to have a car. We returned for 2 years as we loved the villa so much and fell In love with Kefalonia. The nearby beaches are amongst the best onthe island. The owners were so helpful and reccomended car hire which was reliable and reasonably priced. Great for families or3 generations holidaying together.

Chris and Naomi Blatchly live in the South West of England, in quite a rural area. They started going to Kefalonia in 2003 and have made some great friends. It didn't take them long to decide that it was a place they could spend a lot of time especially when they get older and when first setting eyes on the plot of land where Ionian View now stands, they were hooked. 'We had a great deal of involvement in the building process and now every time we visit, there is a great sense of home about it. We never tire of the feeling of excitement when getting off the plane at Argostloi airport, even the smell of the warm air makes us feel at ease. We now have a young family and find our home from home the perfect safe haven to enjoy with them & friends. We have had many happy times there already and hope to enjoy many more for years to come!

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

We love the area around Vlahata for many reasons but mainly because of the feeling of living in a Greek community instead of being in a holiday resort. The villagers are very friendly and always very welcoming and tolerant of our guests. The villa has it's own private driveway and parking and the place itself is very private. Every time we arrive at Ionian View we go straight out on to the terrace and take in the view. It is always a heart stopping moment that never ceases to take my breath away, then every morning thereafter until we finally have to leave! Even the resort of Lourdas can only be called a resort in the loosest sense of the word, as you will never have a problem finding a place to sit on the beach even in peak season.

The view has got to be the biggest plus of the villa as there really is no better from a private villa on the island. The very easy 25 min drive from the airport helps make the start to your holiday relaxed as well as the friendly and very reliable group of people we have on hand to maintain things & to be called on in any emergency.
The interior is comfortable and we have had some wonderful feedback from previous guests. It is far enough away from life to feel like you are on your own but near enough to all modern conveniences to get a perfect balance. A great base for sight seeing, eating, traditional life, walking and beaching. We are suited to guests with young children & teenagers, couples on their own both young & older and groups of friends.
