Great place on the beach

This rental was great. It was much more spacious than we imagined. The owner suite was very separate from the other two rooms; the bunk bed room was pretty tiny but still very exciting for our youngest. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could need, including tupperware, only lacking a corkscrew. The bathrooms had sample size products and one towel per guest. There was a closet stocked with beach toys, beach chairs and even a stroller---if we would have known this before our travels we wouldn't have brought our stroller or beach items. The location could not have been better and the beach was amazing. We were thankful for the private beach seeing how busy the public beach areas got when the weather was nice. Other rentals in the same building included beach chair service---that would have been nice to have but we still had fun at the beach and spent a lot of time in the pool area. We met a lot of people that come back to Destin and this place each year---great rental overall!

Great view

The view was amazing! Loved being close to the beach. Grandkids loved the pool and hot tub. Had to buy dishwasher soap, garbage bags and toilet paper, not an issue just would have been nice to know for our Walmart order.

Beautiful place

Nicely decorated condo. Had everything we needed & plenty space for the 7 of us. Enjoyed the balcony in the early mornings watching the dolphins. The ocean was like crystal clear pool water the week we were there, The beach was fabulous & clean. Definitely rent the umbrella/chairs for the week, so relaxing.

A Blessed May 2022 Stay

Wonderful accommodations right on the beach. We have 8 in our family; 4 kids and 4 adults, and this unit was just right. The beds are comfortable, AC temperature was nicely controlled and accurate, the grounds are well kept, and the extra beach toys were appreciated. The 3 rd room with bunk bed and trundle is a tad small, but just perfect for its intentions. Emerald Dunes has become a tradition for our family!

Perfect Location!

This property was perfectly located in Destin. Very close to shops and activities. The beachfront property had a stunning view of the Gulf with pristine white beaches and its own private beach. The condo itself was beautifully decorated and clean. The only down fall was the lack of supplies. For the amount of money that this condo cost I felt the supplies should have been provided. There were only 8 towels for 5 adult people (3 of them woman) and no normal household supplies to get through the stay. If you are driving to this location it might not be such a big deal (you can bring extra from your home). But when you fly to Destin, you will have to spend quite a bit of extra money for things like trash bags, dish and hand soap, dishwasher detergent, etc... (for only a 7 day stay). Luckily, Publix and Wal-Mart are close by. Overall, I would recommend this property for a great Destin experience.

Just what we wanted

The condo was clean and the furnishings were comfortable - beds and chairs were above average in our experience. Furnished appliances in good working order. We dis not use beach equipment but there was a large quantity available. The property had more security than most and that was easy to use. My wife thought that the entry door latch could have been more substantial, but it was fine. I routinely Brian’s additional door security so no worries. Other occupants -some like us, some residents, were cordial when we encountered them.

Loved the condo, but few suggestions. Need thicker fluffier pillows on beds. Fridge water dispenser didn’t work. Need small table on patio. There were small ants in the master bedroom. Oven needs cleaning.

Nice unit in great location!

This unit is nicely decorated and well cared for! Everything worked as it should and was very clean! Plenty of seating for watching TV and eating! Super convenient beach access! Closet full of beach toys and umbrella (no beach chairs). Chair/umbrella rental during our time frame at end of May was $45 per day! Emerald Dunes is in a great location! Centrally located in Destin with easy access to everything! Beds were comfortable - soft, but not too soft. 2 box fans in the guest closet provide some white noise to drown out potential noise from floor above (sometimes noticeable in multi-floor buildings) or extra breeze while you sleep. Overall great stay and very pleased with ease of check-in/check-out experience!

Great location! Private Beach was a game changer for the 4th!

Really great location! Private beach was a game changer. Room was very clean. Overall really had a great time. Only a few issues. Our check in was delayed 45 minutes due to the cleaning crew not being on time. Remotes were not matched to the TV’s so we had to work through the process of setting them all up. Only some were labeled. Also, only had one roll of toilet paper per bathroom. Just not enough for a 4 day stay.

Great location

My husband and I stayed here with another couple and really loved the location! Having access to a private beach for our condo was a game changer…we could see that the nearby public beaches were very crowded in comparison. The beach was very clean and the view of the ocean was beautiful from our balcony. There was a closet full of beach accessories that were nice to have (sand castle supplies, shovels, beach chairs, floats, boogie boards). The condo was located in a convenient location and in close proximity to several restaurants, Publix, Fresh Market, and local seafood shops. There were a couple of cute local coffee & pastry shops within walking distance to the condo. Our only complaints were that the front bedroom mattress was very uncomfortable and needs to be replaced, there were several dirty dishes in the cabinets & drawers, and the sliding glass door was very difficult to open. Lastly, there were very few supplies included (paper towels, toilet paper, dishwashing pods, etc.), but that is mentioned in the fine print in documents shared through the VRBO app, and it was easy to purchase more with Publix being so close by. Other than that, we loved our time spent at this location and would stay again!

The property was clean and fit our needs well as it was close to the beach and also had a great view of the beach. Yes, each restroom only comes with one role of toilet paper, but there is plenty of warning to bring your own supplies. The unit was very clean and also included plenty of space. My 20 year old and 17 year old thought the small bedroom with a bunk bed worked great. The dining room table also provided enough space for our family. Overall, everyone voted it was a great vacation and we would rent the space again. We did use Barefoot Beach Service for the beach chairs and umbrellas and would recommend them as well if you truly want a relaxing vacation and not have to haul everything down to the beach.

Highly recommend

Property was clean and beds were comfy. They had fans for sleeping which was nice. There was plenty of space for our family of 7. Perfect view of the beach. Watched the sunrise and set daily from our balcony. Location was great. I cooked everyday in the kitchen and had everything I needed. Even a crockpot and tupperware for leftovers! I would suggest bringing an extra roll of paper towels, a couple rolls of toilet paper and a couple of cascade dishwasher pods if you’re staying longer than a few days. Bring your beach towels and beach chairs but they have a closet with sand toys and boogie boards. They also have a board game cabinet which was nice for the evenings! Thank you for having us! We enjoyed our stay very much.

But there were several dishes that were very dirty in cabinets/drawers, a tv remote didn't work (we tried fresh batteries). Felt sparse with things like extra blankets, pillows, and definitely skimpy with just 2 rolls of cheap toilet paper, 2 garbage bags, & 2 little bars of soap- not the extra touch of hospitality most VRBO's provide these days (we understand it's a mgt company). Very noisy people on the floor above- but no one to blame except them. Overall we enjoyed, but not necessarily planning a return to this particular unit at this price.

The view from the balcony was stunning. The proximity to the beach was perfect. There is a closet with beach toys, cooler etc. The unit was walkable to Publix, restaurants & souvenir shops. It was nicely decorated and bright. Cons: The unit could use a good deep clean. There were cookies under the couch from a previous renter, the carpet in the living room has a smell that transfers to your clothes while laying on it, the refrigerator had a very strong fishy smell. The listing clearly states a starter supply of toilet paper, trash bags, etc but be prepared that “starter supply” means 1 of everything. Bring toilet paper and garbage bags or you will run out quickly. The bunk bed room is tiny and has no closet. Would be suitable for young children, definitely not teens or adults. The pool was small but sufficient. There was never really anyone there but if more than 3 or 4 families were in at a time it would be uncomfortably crowded. The beach has a chair company that rents chairs. They set up a wall of chairs and umbrellas early in the morning and rent them for $45/day (more than the $30 in the listing). We chose to buy chairs at a local store instead but quickly found that meant we were stuck behind the rental chairs with no view or easy access to the water. They make you move if you try to sit in front of their chairs (even if they aren’t being used/rented!) so if you like to be near the water’s edge or have kids you want to watch from your seat that is impossible. You sit in the hot sand and have to peek at the water through a wall of green chairs and umbrellas. It was very frustrating especially when you are paying for access to the private beach in your rental fee. Finally, as we were packing to leave, we found a giant cockroach in the master bathroom.
