Arian is truly one of the kindest hosts you’ll ever meet. I initially booked just one week… and I ended up staying for the rest of my trip in Barcelona because I fell in love with the place.From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and thoughtful. The apartment itself exceeded every expectation — the architecture, the layout, the cozy and stylish interior decor… everything felt carefully curated to make the stay unforgettable.My girlfriend and I were studying at the European Bartending School during our time in Barcelona, and the location was perfect — just about a 15-minute walk. We would even use that walk to study our flashcards, so it became part of our daily routine.What impressed me the most was the attention to detail. Any time we needed something — an iron, fresh towels, coffee, a hair dryer, fruit, cooking supplies, even a washer for our clothes — it was already there, right where we needed it. We truly felt at home. And having access to a rooftop was just the cherry on top. We fell in love with the apartment so quickly and with Arian’s hospitality even more. Amazing location, quiet apartment, nice roof deck. Overall, the property is in need of repair and upkeep (the shower door was broken, the door to the balcony did not close all the way, etc.). The roof deck is not as well maintained as in the video, for example there is no longer a shaded area and the plants appear not to be cared for. Note that the fridge is a small size and is located outside on the balcony. For those with accessibility needs, it's important to know there are 90 steps to access the apartment and the stairway is narrow. The host had wonderful restaurant recommendations and was very responsive in communicating.

Great location

Excellent location, nice and clean apartment. Hosts were wonderful. But you have to climb five flights of stairs to get to the apartment, and this was a huge problem as my husband and I are both in a mid 70s. I think that this information should be easily available when people are looking at this appointment.

3 Day stay, before our cruise

The property was just what we were looking for... a little corner of Barcelona that had access to the Born, Gothic, and Gracia areas. HOst was knowledgeable and accommodating, especially because he allowed us into the property a little early... our flight was quite early, and we had luggage we wanted stored, so we could run right out and enjoy yhe city. As always with VRBO, the unit offered us a taste of that European local vibe. Mind you, there are several flights up to the rooftop flat, which can be daunting with luggage, but the access to the terrace made it worth it. Well worth the value, as long as you don't mind navigating the steps.

Amazing location and roof terrace

The location is perfect. Walking distance to Sagrada Familia ( and other Gaudi buildings), many attractions and numerous coffee shops and restaurants. The Attic is good for 2 people and has everything you need. It was surprisingly quiet. The roof terrace is s definite plus. Relaxing here and having dinner in the evening is lovely. We had it to ourselves each evening. Arian gave us a very friendly welcome which included wine , some supplies and lots of information. He also helped carry our luggage up the many stairs as there is no elevator. If the flat had items repaired such as some of the lights and the shower door it would be a solid 5, however it still was a wonderful visit. Thank you Arian for making our first time in Barcelona memorable.

Nice, but......

Charming, very small apartment within walking distance to major sights. However, the flat needs an update. The door from the bedroom to the balcony cannot be closed completely so it is loud and relatively cold and uncomfortable. Shades partly defective and darkening of the flat for sleeping not possible. Light bulbs and sockets partly broken. Otherwise a beatiful and very clean flat with an outstanding terrace.

Great location, but be prepared for noise and stairs!

This apartment is in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the Tetuan metro station and close to many major attractions. We loved being able to walk everywhere and explore the city easily. The terrace was also a nice bonus, although it is shared with other residents. However, there were a couple of downsides to this apartment. Firstly, the bedroom faces a busy street and there is quite a bit of traffic noise. This wasn't too bad during the week, but on weekends it was difficult to sleep due to the noise from a neighbor's party. Secondly, the apartment is on the 4th floor and there is no lift. This wasn't a problem for us, but it might be something to consider if you have mobility issues. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The location and terrace were great, but the noise and stairs were a bit of a drawback. Great location

Great location to walk everywhere, but in a neighborhood away from bustle of old town. Many steps to climb but apartment has everything you need (except coffee maker) and could use some routine maintenance.

Excellent first visit to Barcelona

We had a late checkin, almost midnight, and our host was there to open the taxi door for us. He was very easy to contact. Up the stairs with luggage was not as bad it sounds. Lovely air flow and the air conditioner worked well. Bed was comfy and the bath was small but had everything we needed. The location was about a 5 minute walk to Sagrada Familia. There were many places to eat and shops nearby. Our host also gave us several of his favorite places to go around the city. Great trip!

Wine on the roof terrace

Nice and quiet place with walking distance and view of the Sagrada Familia! Need to be able to climb flights of stairs as there is no elevator/lift. Yet, we found it worthwhile staying there. Host Arian communicates well and is a fantastic host, even provided welcome wine!

Lovely to have the rooftop terrace

The host Arian is very pleasant, helpful and quick to respond to any questions. He very kindly booked an early morning taxi for us the day we were leaving. The apartment building is quiet and yes there are close to 100 steps to get to the attic apartment. The location was great. Walking distance to the Sagrada Familia and metro stops. There are grocery stores, fruit and vegetables stands and pastry shops near by. The host very kindly provided a bottle of wine, beer and snacks as a welcome basket which was thoughtful. It is a small clean apartment but the rooftop terrace was wonderful to have. We sat out there at the end of everyday. In a busy city it is lovely to have an outdoor space to enjoy. To be honest; the pictures on the site look like they were taken a number of years ago when the apartment was first renovated. It now needs a bit of TLC or sprucing up.The terrace could use new furniture and what is left of the rattan canopy over the table should just be removed. That said, we still enjoyed having the terrace.

So not happy

We are not picky people!! We have stayed in some rough places, we like camping we know what roughing it is, but we feel this place did not live up near to what the other reviews said. The location was great. We got to walk to everything we wanted to see in Barcelona. There was no light in the bathroom. Well, there was a light, but there was no switch to turn it on so if you were up early or late, you were showering or shaving in the dark. Tried the Nespresso coffee maker, but all it did was flood the counter and floor and did not make coffee so no coffee in the morning. Unless we went out and got it. We could not get a hold of the owner when we were less than 24 hours away from checking in. Finally got a hold of him and we did get checked in, but it was pretty scary whether we were going to get the info or not before we got on our plane.!! Corner of bed was crammed into a wall so had to crawl over my wife to get out in the middle of the night. It was a five story walk up, which we knew. But there’s no light in the hallway so if you’re coming home in the evening, have your phone out for a light so you don’t trip. The location was really about the only thing this place had going for it. We will not be booking with VRBO internationally again after this experience.

Great VRBO!

This apartment was amazing! Very clean and well organized when we arrived. We had everything we needed for the whole week - clean towels, sheets, dishware for cooking, utensils, and a robust air conditioner that we were wholly grateful for after those long days in the Barcelona sun. With plenty of grocery stores within walking distance, we had an easy time buying and cooking any small meals we wanted. However, the amazing selection of tapas at all the nearby restaurants kept us plenty busy. It was a cozy apartment, the perfect size for my wife and me. The mini fridge and washing machine were very convenient. Half of the way through our trip, we had to do a couple loads of laundry to keep up; having the washing machine there was perfect! We enjoyed the patio to share our breakfast while gazing upon the city before we began our days. The location was ideal, super close to many restaurants, shops, public transportation, and major sites we wanted to see, including Sagrada Familia, a brief 15-minute walk away. We frequented the Gothic Quarter, too, which surprised us with an endless number of alleys and avenues to explore. The host was very responsive and prompt on timing, providing us the keys as soon as we arrived and helpfully answering any and all questions we had. We would definitely recommend this VRBO to any travelers visiting Barcelona who want an easy, comfortable place to stay with a location conveniently located near the center of the city.

Perfect location with a quiet and safe neighborhood

The location of this flat was perfect and we were able to walk to most area attractions. Plenty of restaurants, markets, laundry near by. As you know, this is top floor with no elevator. Getting large luggage up and down was somewhat difficult but we managed as we only had to take up once and down once. All other times, stairs were fine and was great exercise to work off the amazing food and drink we consumed. Flat was clean and had a great rooftoo terrace that no one else used during our whole stay. The building is quiet. The flat is a little outdated and could be even more amazing with a cosmetic update. The bed is older and hard, not very comfortable. The back door to the balcony has a latch that is falling off, door needs a new handle. Shower door is broken so you use a curtain. Water pressure and temperatures was absolutely amazing though. Floor tiles are loose. Again, perfect little spot to spend a few days. I would stay here again but think it could use some slight updating. Thank you for a great stay! we only had to take up once and

A nice, quiet spot

The apartment is in a great location and very quiet. The furniture was comfortable and the terrace was quite nice. I rarely needed to use the A/C, which was also nice. All in all, my stay there was very pleasant.

Arian was great the property was a bit run down

There were many things that did not work. Such as the shades for privacy. The front door is glass and it leads to a shared space for the building. The espresso machine we were told was recently broken as was the patio door and shower doors. The aprtment had a lot of potential and jas been mistreated for some time i would say. Arian was great and i would say nothing other then that. The apartment needs some attention to restore it to the ny times article standard.

Great stay!

My friend and I stayed at this place for about 4 days and it was wonderful! The hosts were great with communication, and even gave us recommendations for the city. Check in and out was easy and quick! The apartment is small, but the patio really makes up for it, as we spent most of our time out there when we weren’t wandering around the city. It’s about a 30 minute walk to Las Ramblas where most of the attractions are, but if you’re okay with exploring and walking it is totally fine! There are supermercats, cafes, and restaurants everywhere/close by. The only key note is the many flights of stairs you will have to walk up and down to get to this top floor penthouse so make sure your legs are ready!! Thank you so much for this wonderful stay we enjoyed it very much. :)

The penthouse is located in the attic of a building, which is concerning from a safety issue. There are many flights of stairs to get it and no help available. The air conditioning worked great!

Nice place. Having the terrace was great! The location was really good for exploring the city, though if you love the beach I would recommend nearer to Barceloneta, it is still walkable and the walk is nice. Plenty of bars/restaurants near by as well as shops. The stairs will keep you fit! Overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Not like the photos - needs updating

Adrian is a nice man and is proud of his rental that was featured in a magazine over a decade ago. Unfortunately, the apartment has not been maintained and is need of a very extensive update. Broken drawer in the kitchen, broken shower door replaced by a shower curtain with mold, a light hanging from the ceiing but most importantly, a door to the balcony was not secured. We had to leave after the first night as the security was a concern.

Quaint with good location.

The property was in a good location and Tanni was great to work with! She was quick with responses to our questions and met us upon arrival. As others mentioned, the 90+ steps were a tad challenging but there were landings for quick rests. The patio was wonderful and offered added space to relax. Although the string lighting didn’t work and a chair needed repair, I’m sure Arian and Tanni will be quick to fix and freshen up the area as they were truly interested in any insight on how to make our experience better.
