When we arrived, having accessed the key, we were unable to open both the main door and patio doors and had to contact the office at Burnham Deepdale for assistance. A maintenance man came out and could not open the main door but was able to open the patio door with difficulty. We had to request a call out again on Monday, in fact every time we went out we had the worry of whether or not we could open the patio door. The locks were finally fixed on Wednesday afternoon, after we had called Norfolk Hideaways a third time on Wednesday morning.
Some examples of things we found disappointing were as follows:
dead flies all over the window sills
dirty microwave
dirty pots and pans
no kitchen cloth of any kind
several chipped china items
the vacuum cleaner did not work
the information folder contained leaflets dated 2015 and hadn’t been updated
peeling paint on windows and walls
shower panels coming away from the wall
Some of the bed linen appeared to be two sheets machined together to make a duvet cover and none of the linen was those in the photos– not the standard one would expect of renting a Hideaways property.
There was no usual Norfolk Hideaways welcome pack, i.e. teabags, coffee sachets, milk or biscuits.
We were shocked that Norfolk Hideaways let out a property in such a condition. It is quite obvious it had not been checked throughout. I have used Norfolk Hideaways for several years and it was most disappointing and not to the usual standard of accommodation we expect from them.
