Rosa was a great host! Check in was seamless and she even offered to have someone pick us up at the airport. The house was so clean and had everything we needed!

Amazing view

We had an amazing time, Rosa was always very prompt with responding to us, the home was beautiful and extremely clean. We loved the area because it was just a 5 min taxi ride to the main tourist sites. Would definitely go back

Fabulous Villa

This is a beautiful, well equipped modern villa. The host Rosa is delightful and couldnt be more helpful. The villa was spotless and in a great location with spectacular views of Funchal

Nice and quiet

Very attractive, comfortable property, easy access by car, with private parking . The terraces on the house and on the adjacent roof allow you to eat and read outside in complete privacy, not to mention the breathtaking view from the roof terrace. A great place to end the day in peace and quiet.

We, 2 adults and 2 kids, had the great pleasure to stay from 26th of June until 4th of July . Beautiful property with a gorgeous view panorama to Funchal and also from balconies the Atlantic Ocean. Rose, the owner, was such a great help, very responsive, very understandable person. House is situated in a beautiful selected area, you gave Mercadona grocery 10-1( minutes by walk or 5 min by car. Close to downtown 5-8 min by car . Thank you Rose for giving us the opportunity, of renting this property.

Highly Recommended

We had a very enjoyable stay at this home. It was immaculate. Plenty of towels and so handy to have a washer. There are two racks for drying. It is in walking distance to downtown Funchal. The parking space was to difficult for us so we parked on the street. All in all an excellent experience.

things to improve

we enjoyed the property and the location. In hot humid summer evenings, it's impossible to sleep. this property needs to have fans in the bed rooms to ensure a comfortable night, as well as the living room. I would not go back for that simple reason.

Fantastic villa!

We were welcomed at the property by Rosa who explained how everything worked. The villa is spotless, modern, well- equipped, and in a very good location. There is a big supermarket 5 minutes away, and you can walk into town (Tip - turn right at the little garage and follow the narrow passageway through twists and turns until you emerge in the town!). The patio area and BBQ is lovely, and there is a great view from the little terrace. We hired a large estate car - there were four adults and luggage to consider - so parking was a challenge! All in all, we could not fault the place, very good value for money.

Wonderful, squeaky clean home in great neighbourhood

This house exceeded our expectations on every account. This is the cleanest house we have ever rented. It was as if it was brand new and we were the first people staying there. It was exceptionally well outfitted and situated on a quiet dead-end street within walking distance of several bakeries, fruit and vegetable stores, and a large supermarket. The downtown tourist area is a 15 minute walk away and several bus routes come near the house (for those days when you don't want to make the uphill hike from downtown.) Rosa was an exceptional host. She lives a couple of houses away, is readily available, yet unobtrusive.

Perfect Choice

I rented for 4 weeks to celebrate my 75th birthday with friends/family from 20 to age 70's. Each week, I had a group of friends/family join me to celebrate a different period of my life. The island is a lovely location for people who flew from the UK, Bermuda and Canada. It was a perfect house for 6 people and what a view. Rosie was the perfect landlord -- picked me up at the airport and I was so pleased with the villa. My nephew is a germaphobe and he was continually commenting on the cleanliness. The house has everything one needs to be comfortable and relaxed The 3rd story viewing deck is spectacular. The walk to Old Town was lovely -- all downhill but we always took a taxi back up. (I am 75 LOL) .. it was always 7-8 euros. Lots to do, easy to relax. Just perfect. Exactly as photos show.

Lovely Modern House

My wife and I stayed for twelve nights in early May. The house is very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The host, Rosa, was very friendly and helpful. There is a nice bakery less than 5 minutes walk up the hill towards the supermarket which about 5 minutes further on. It's an easy 20 minute downhill walk to the city centre (turn right out of the cul-de-sac and walk down the road. At the car rental garage, take the narrow path to the right and follow the steps down, then take the flat path to the right passing a school below you. Take the steps down to the left which are signposted, Beco Sao Joao, I think. Then just follow the road into the city centre). We bought bus giro passes for getting back up but didn't use them much as buses are infrequent after about 6pm so it was easier to hop in a taxi (10 EUR including a tip). A few restaurants in Funchal I would recommend: O Portao, Santa Maria and Basmati Nepalese. Both golf courses on the island are very good and my wife enjoyed some good scuba diving. It's worth getting a car for a few days to travel round the island - the scenery is spectacular.

Amazing

We have travelled around the world using VRBO and this is the nicest place we have had. Everything was good. It is a fairly new house with everything you would need supplied.There were 4 of us and we had lots of room. The one unique thing was a free standing lookout in the backyard which overlooks Funchal. There are 4 chairs up there so you can enjoy lunch or supper and a bottle of wine while watching the city below. There is a great grocery store about a 15 minute walk max and a great little cafe bakery less than 5 minutes away where we had supper a few times. It is a 20 minute walk to the downtown core. It is downhill but than coming back there are 182 steps. We like the workout but you can always get a taxi back up for around 10 euros. Ask Rosa and she will give you directions to the path. It is easy. And then there is Rosa. Great lady and she lives just across the street. She offers free pickup when you land. She has a driver who will come and get you so the day we arrived we were surprised to see Rosa. She said her driver wasn’t available. Then the next day we went to get groceries to stock cupboards and had a lot to carry. To our surprise again Rosa was there and gave us a ride back. It gets better. She even drove us to the harbour to catch the ferry to Porto Santo when her driver wasn’t available. Great host and a great house. If you go to Madeira this is the place to stay in Funchal. A really nice comfortable house. Everything needed was there. Brilliant night time views from the wee balcony out the back. Easy 20min walk to town 5 uber back. Cracking bakery just up the road. Will use again when i go back to Madeira.

Sehr schönes modernes Haus in Funchal

Wir haben den Aufenthalt in der Villa Rosa sehr genossen, das Haus ist sehr schön, ausreichend Platz für 5 Personen, schöne Küche und Waschmaschine! Ein Punkt Abzug gibt es für die etwas dürftige Küchenausstattung, es gab nur jeweils 6 Löffeln, Gabeln usw und auch nur jeweils 6 Teller und Tassen! Töpfe und sonstige Sachen sind ausreichend vorhanden! Leider ist es auch sehr laut, wenn man die Fenster offen lässt!

Allt började med att vi blev hämtade av värden på flygplatsen, som tog oss till boendet. Jätte tacksamt att bli hämtade. Värden visade runt oss i huset och förklarade hur allt fungerade. Det var rent och fint! Vi trivdes jättebra, och läget var kanonbra. Bra med parkeringsmöjligheter. Vi kommer absolut att bo där flera gånger.

Was will man mehr!!!

Ich bin jedes Jahr für längere Zeit auf Madeira und dieses Jahr habe ich eine der besten Unterkünfte gefunden. Ein perfekt ausgestattetes Haus und Komfort, eigentlich kann man es besser nicht bekommen. Das Haus ist modern eingerichtet und bietet reichlich Platz. Besonders auffallend war die Sauberkeit im und um das Haus. Was bemerkenswert war, reichlich Handtücher im perfekten Zustand und im Bad die Flüssigseife war nicht wie manchmal nur verdünnt aufgefüllt (Neu). Hier merkt man, wie Rosa Wert auf Qualität legt. Parkmöglichkeit besteht auf dem Grundstück und auf der Straße. Wir hatten einen kleinen Mietwagen, wo das parken auf Madeira generell praktisch ist. Das Haus liegt etwas oberhalb von Funchal in einer Sackgasse mit einem herrlichen Blick auf Funchal, die Berge und das Meer. In die Stadt sind wir in ca. 15 Minuten gelaufen und es fährt in der Woche auch ein Bus gleich in der Nähe zum nächsten Einkaufs-Center. Mit Auto ist man in 5 Minuten im Zentrum der Stadt. Für Wanderungen ist der Standort ebenfalls ein guter Ausgangspunkt und kommt schnell auf die Schnellstraße in alle Richtungen.
