The house has an old brick chimney going right up through the center of the house, and big old local fir posts and beam separating the living room from the kitchen. An AC unit has been added to keep the house a comfortable temperature as our summers heat up.
Combined with the nine foot ceilings you have an open space while also maintaining a cozy cottage feel. We love how the back family room and it's eight foot windows flows into the back yard, especially with our two and four year old's adventurous zeal. Most of the summer is spent with that back door open. On a nice evening, the large upper deck equipped with a big solid table and a sun shade lends a great view over John Hendry Park to the North Shore Mountains. This is the spot to go over the day's experiences, while sipping on a warm or cool drink. You'll love it.
