This villa was perfect for our group of 6 adults

This villa was perfect for our group of 6 adults. We spent many evenings on the terrace enjoying the incredible view. The kitchen was well-equipped for what we needed. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and exactly as pictured. Luca was very helpful and knowledgeable. Everything was very well-explained up front. No surprises. Highly recommend.

4 days near Praiano

The villa met our needs and wants overall. 4 beds, 4 baths, great view of Amalfi coast, proximity to Praiano, parking place for 1 compact car. This is an old house, well lived in. The kitchen is functional though not attractive. The bathrooms were ok. The bedrooms were good. It was quiet and secluded. The property manager was accessible and helpful. The villa is built into the coastal cliff, so there are many narrow steps down from the road to get to the entrance. This feature can be de rigeur for villas in this area, so this comment is just in the spirit of emphasis, not something surprising, but it is serious for anyone with leg problems. The mosquitoes were serious in the middle of September and the anti-aircraft supplies were low on arrival, but Luca and crew were responsive. Bring repellent if you want to enjoy the magnificent view from the patios. The distances to Praiano to the north and the closest beach are not long, walkable if you don’t mind Pamplona-esque running with the cars. We had hoped in mid-September that tourist season pressure would be lower, but it was full blast with packed Sita buses and fuhgeddaboutit taxi service.

Beautiful property in Praiano

The Villa had amazing views and the property was clean and spacious. Walking distance to restaurants, market and beach. Mr. Luca was a wonderful host.

Excellent location. Relaxing villa.

We had a very enjoyable time. Luca was extremely helpful and went over and above to ensure we had a pleasant stay in Praiano. Highly recommend for families who desire space and a great location.

The villa is amazing and in a fantastic location of Praiano

The villa is amazing and in a fantastic location of Praiano. Close to restaurants and market for food. The bus to get to other towns on the Amalfi Coast was just up the road. Villa La Gattaia had private space for all four couples traveling. Two beautiful terraces to relax on and have dinners. The villa is old but has lots of character. I loved that we had a great place to stay in and it was not in the busy part of the Amalfi Coast like Positano or Amalfi. Luca [the caretaker] was an amazing host and helped us organize a charter boat and recommended places to shop (he even did some shopping for us to get local chicken and beef). Great service from Summer In Italy. They were really responsive in answering my questions. Also the links for transportation were great as well. I would highly recommend using Summer In Italy to book places in Italy.

Our family very much enjoyed staying at Villa La Gattaia. The outside space was superb and we spent all the time we were at the villa in the fresh air. We didn't really use the inside areas as the weather was so good the whole of the holiday. We all thought the bathrooms could do with a little upgrading but they were all usable. I felt the booking process through to arrival were excellent and I was always kept informed.

Villa La Gattaia is an amazing villa furnished with beautiful old artifacts and art. The views are absolutely amazing and we are so please you recommend Praiano to us as this is a beautiful little village set apart from bustling tourist towns of Amalfi and Positano. The local restaurants are amazing and although many steps we embraced the exercise and were thoroughly delighted with our villa. Don't change anything, Villa La Gattaia is just perfect. Thanks for organizing our Capri boat trip and delivering our cold beer placing it in the fridge. Thank you so much Luca for your great advice on Villa La Gattaia and staying in Praiano, we are so glad we weren't in the middle of the bustling towns. Everything was just as you promised and we had a fabulous stay, many thanks.

We had a great stay at Villa La Gattaia. It had plenty of room inside and out and all the facilities we needed. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time there and spent most of our time sightseeing . The staff I dealt with at Summer In Italy were fantastic! Very informative and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to use their services again!

Really great villa with a lot of character

Really great villa with a lot of character. It was a fun place to stay! Pros: great view, a lot of space, nice terrace. The air-conditioned rooms were very pleasant. The young people who stayed in the non-AC rooms didn’t mind, but it would be good to make sure everyone is comfortable with the arrangement in advance. Cons: the buses were so full we couldn't get to Ravello! And we had dinner reservations/tickets to a concert. The two downstairs rooms feel very separated from the rest of the house. The booking agents were excellent, I really appreciated all your help in finding the place! I will highly recommend you.

Villa La Gattaia is in an excellent location with outstanding views and outside terraces, which we spent the majority of our time. A restaurant and the bus stop were very close by too! I would recommend Villa La Gattaia! Luca, the caretaker met us and was helpful in acclimating us with the villa and surroundings. He directed us to the nearest grocery store, and even drive our groceries to the villa!

My family of 4 had a wonderful stay at Villa La Gattaia in July 2013. It could easily accommodate twice that many comfortably and was more room than we needed, but we like to spread out and location is important to us. The villa is nicely situated about halfway between Praiano and the marina at La Praia. It has spectacular 360° views looking out toward La Praia. The upper terrace is a lovely spot to sit and read or enjoy breakfast. Luca [the caretaker] was an excellent host from the time we arrived to the time we left. He gave us many excellent restaurant suggestions and was helpful with excursions. The staff at Summer In Italy were perfect. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating.
