My husband and I are profoundly grateful for the privilege of living at this beach house as a winter rental. The beauty that surrounded us through those months was so spectacular it seemed at times surreal. The views inspire peace and wonder; nature calling upon a profound reverence within us.
The rising sun greeted us across the bay, followed by the mesmerizing flow on the “black cormorant highway” a stone’s throw away, punctuated by an occasional feeding frenzy of schools of fish, the song of a loon, the quiet gliding of a variety of ducks and the unmistakable sounds of the gulls in search of a “crabby” snack. Finally, dazzling sunsets and moonglow completed the days.
The house stands on a striking outcropping of rocks that dip into the ocean. Being the furthest house on this part of the shore, it almost feels like there are no neighbors. Most rooms have a gorgeous view of the ocean, the kitchen is roomy (with stunning views as well) and the deck large and inviting. On stormy days, we enjoyed the amazing view from the safety of a solid and well-designed home. At high tide, sitting in the great room, you can easily imagine being on a boat.
With the option of two sandy beaches for strolling, the ocean to play in, and incredible nature to contemplate, this is an exceptional location for a home. We would gladly return to live there again and again. We found a sense communion with nature that touched our hearts deeply and experienced a deep sense of joy from being there each day.
Thank you, Tamara and family, for sharing your delightful home with us.
In kindness,
Annie&Dan
