Lanikai is everything Waikiki is not, which makes Rick's place the perfect getaway spot. The bungalow was set up with everything the two of us needed - beach towels, umbrella, chairs, cooler, everything we needed for a day at the beach. Plus with a full size fridge, with an ice maker, a full size coffee maker (!), A hot plate and rice maker, this place makes a perfect place to spend a week. I haven't even mentioned the beach is truly steps away. We hope to make it back again one day in the near future. (I highly recommend renting from Rick.)

The studio is spacious and immaculately clean. Everything was in well kept or new condition. Chairs, umbrella, cooler, beach mats, towels and bodyboards were provided for trips to the beach. Rick and Nini were an excellent source of information and helped to make our trip really enjoyable. We would highly recommend them as hosts and stay here again.

Babymoon in Lanikai

Rick and Nini are wonderful hosts, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and to make the most of the beautiful Lanikai beach just steps away. The studio home was perfect for us, including a lovely private garden area for relaxing and enjoying home cooked meals. Ideal location just a short walk from the beach, with a perfect view of the sunrise every morning. We cannot wait to come back!

Awesome stay in Lanikai

We couldn't have asked for a better spot to enjoy a week in Lanikai/Kailua. The Garden Studio apartment was fully appointed and very comfortable. Our hosts Rick & Nini were so welcoming and kind throughout our visit. It was really nice having Lanikai beach only a short walk away, totally avoiding all the parking restrictions. We appreciated having all the beach gear at out disposal and everything we could possibly need in our apartment. We're really looking to staying at this property again!! Mahalo Rick & Nini!!!

Great week in Lanikai

Perfect location, comfortable, clean cottage. Lanikai beach is across the street or a few hundred feet down the street depending on the tide. We will definitely consider staying at this property again. Also, as foodies, we love the restaurant scene in Honolulu. It’s only a 30 minute drive over the gorgeous Pali Highway. There are also great places to eat in and near Kailua.

Island Paradise - Great Location - Fantastic Hosts

My wife and I travel to Hawaii yearly for a work & relax week. We looked for a quiet, community type setting vs. the hustle & bustle of Waikiki. The Lanikai/Kialua area was the the place for us. This studio was super clean, private entrance, very close to the beach and hosted by 2 wonderful people. Easy, short walk access to a breathtakingly beautiful beach. The hosts were easy to communicate with, accommodating and friendly. For 2 people only this place is a treasure, highly recommend.

Lanikai Garden Studio is Amazing!

Our stay at the Lanikai Garden Studio was absolutely amazing! It has the perfect Hawaiian vibe and everything one could ask for to thoroughly enjoy Lanikai Beach, Kailua Beach and the town of Kailua. Your steps away from some of the most beautiful beaches Oahu has to offer. The sunrises are amazing. Moreover, the hosts Rick and Nini are so friendly and accommodating. Best Kept Secret

This place was perfect for us. A perfect, quiet, clean, very private, and safe home port for us as we explored the entire island. The close beach access was handy as we spent our time in the water. If you want to sun on the beach you might have to go a block or two north to other handy access points. It didn’t have a range but the hot plate worked well to heat frying pans and pots. Rick and Nini are top notch hosts. Excellent communications and tips about our stay and explorations. Would definitely try to stay here again. Dave & Joann from Michigan’s U.P.

Terrific Experience!

The Lanikai Garden Studio was well stocked, and Rick was a terrific property manager/owner. He and his wife Nini have several properties in the area, and they were available for any needs (of which we had none). Being within walking distance of Lanikai Beach was what we wanted for a 1-week stay, and it was easy to drive into Kailua for restaurants / groceries. Perfect studio for a couple getting away for a holiday! Would highly recommend and plan to return!

A Little Piece of Heaven

It was a lovely property which we felt was close to so many things. Our hosts went above and beyond helping us with things we did during our stay there. The inside of the studio was totally decorated to feel the true ambiance of Hawaii, including a Hawaii comforter. They also made excellent use of the space inside of the studio. Fully stocked with what we needed, including an ice maker. We recommend this place for a nice romantic stay. Totally deserving of five stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🌟 🌟

Perfect location

Wish we had stayed longer

We stayed in Honolulu first. Won’t do that again but would love to stay at this property again. The only surprise was that when the tide comes in your beach is under water. Other than that, it’s a dream. Loved the place, the neighborhood and the small, I crowded beach. Owners were lovely as well.

Tropical Paradise Cottage

We had a wonderful stay in the guest cottage. The location is fabulous-right across from beautiful Lanakai beach. Rick is fortunate to have grown up here in Lanikai and reside in his childhood home with his wife Nini, three daughters, and two dogs; Tom and Daisie. We have hosted countless guests from around the world, many are annual repeat guests that we consider family! Rick loves fishing! Many of our guests have enjoyed an outing on our glass-bottom boat for a day of sightseeing, light tackle fishing, and sea-life exploration. We also love spending time in our sister state - Alaska, where our eldest daughter calls home and where Rick has worked as a charter captain out of Seward, Alaska. Hosting guests since 1985! We are fortunate to have a large number of repeat guests who have become dear family friends and who have experienced the growth of our family, celebrating birthdays and holidays with us. We have been hosting a Canadian family each year since 1995 and a couple from Kennebunk, ME since 2000. We are fortunate to share our piece of paradise with each guest who comes through our doors, and we cherish the friendships and lifelong bonds we develop along the way.

If asked what the most rewarding attribute of our business is, the best answer would have to be that when we host a guest and they share with us that they could only have imagined what a special place we live in. How blessed we are to be able to offer someone a temporary respite from their day-to-day lives!
