Rick's place was a perfect home base for exploring the North Shore of Kauai, at an absolute bargain compared to other options. Comfy, quiet and conveniently located; only 10-15 min walk from a grocery store & restaurants and a short hike to a beautiful beach. He even has beach chairs/umbrella and snorkeling gear you can borrow!Loved the peaceful outdoor lanai to enjoy the local birds. Appreciated kitchen amenities like a toaster oven, foil/ziploc bags, salt/pepper/cooking basics, coffee maker and Keurig with some pods. 10/10 will visit again.

Everything was wonderful. No complaints Loved EverythingPlease list you have a hair dryer that would be great. Not a complaint most places don't say they do. Less in baggage.I will return Loved the Island.

The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and a spacious fridge! We were close to the pool and parking was super easy. The bed was super comfortable, shower was great and the bathroom had more than enough. Rick left all the beach supplies you’d need, including snorkeling gear! Wish I sat out on the terrace more so we will definitely try to book this place again. The trail to the smaller private beach was fun but definitely wear good hiking shoes especially if it rained! Definitely would suggest booking here if you have a rental car since you’re pretty close to Hanalei Bay and Anini beach! Easy and beautiful drive to other remote further beaches as well. Overall a great stay!

Rick(owner)was very friendly and responsive. As soon as I made him aware the keurig in our unit was shot we had another one delivered to our door within the hour! Our little studio was cute and well equipped.All cooking and cleaning supplies we needed were supplied. Shower stocked with nice shampoos. Towels for the pool too.Unit was very clean with comfy queen bed.We enjoyed the polar bear plunge in the facility pool as well! We were surprised it wasn’t heated over the winter, but it felt great having it to cool down when needed!Highly recommend Rick and his little studio. It’s perfect for a single person or couple to enjoy staying in the North shore for a few days!

Thank you Jason. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. I hear you on the pool, but there are very few heated pools in Princeville (or Kauai for that matter), because most use propane heaters, and the cost can be prohibitively expensive. The larger resorts have heated pools, but they also have hundreds of rooms to cover the cost vs a 29 unit condo complex. I hope you’ll come back anytime between Spring and Fall. The pools plenty warm then. Aloha.

Perfect stay for Kauai

We absolutely loved our stay here, and it was the perfect location for the northside of the island. The place was clean, stocked with what we needed, and an incredible valiue.

Aloha Anne, Thanks for your booking and comment. With that said, nowhere in my property description or the list of amenities, does it say there’s air conditioning. Nowhere. Actually it says “No AC or laundry facilities”, so there’s that. At the nightly rate I charge, you won’t find AC (real AC, not a feeble portable unit) anywhere on Kauai. Had you put AC as a requirement in your property search, you wouldn’t have seen my unit. To get ‘real’ AC, you’d be paying $200 per night. The unit faces in the windward direction, and there’s 4 fans for airflow. I’m sorry you were disappointed to find no AC, but it shouldn’t have been a surprise. Aloha.

Great getaway

It was a great location. Close to many beaches, including one real secluded beach just down the street. Close to grocery stores and amazing restaurants. Response time from owner was very quick. Great experience.

I traveled much of the world and found myself on Kauai in 1979. I knew the minute I arrived that I was home. I continued to vacation on Kauai yearly and finally decided to move to Kauai full time in 1986. I moved to the mainland in 2010 to explore the U.S., but Kauai stayed on my mind and in 2015 I came "home".

Paniolo offers a great location and amenities such as an on-site pool, a trail down to Anini Beach and the convenience of being just minutes away from world class beaches, numerous outdoor activities, shopping, a library and park.

The quiet location and proximity to the North Shores numerous wonderful beaches, shopping, restaurants and outdoor activities offers something for everyone. I recently added a large kitchenette, refurbished the bathroom and added a privacy wall to separate the sleeping area from the dining and entertainment areas. I've tried hard to provide everything you'll need to have a safe and enjoyable getaway. It's the perfect getaway for either a single traveler or couple. E Komo Mai!
