I will recommend this property to anyone who asks a spot to stay in Bar Harbor. Rented bikes across street and rode all through the national park. Spent every day walking back and forth to harbor park, restaurants, shops and attractions -such a local vibe. Loved it! This place was perfection.

Excellent location and spacious apartment

The location is excellent, within walking distance to all shops and restaurants Bar Harbor has to offer. The pictures accurately capture the space, and there was plenty of room for our family.

The location of this property can't be beat! Easy walking access to Bar Harbor, which is a delightful town with lots of retail and restaurants to choose from. Convenient parking for the unit was very helpful. The cafe below the unit is lovely and had great morning options (Mon - Fri) for our adult kids. We especially enjoyed e-bikes along the carriage roads and day trips to Acadia for moderate hikes and walks and stunning views. The unit was clean, and the owner was responsive when there was a leak issue from our upstairs neighbors who were friendly but noisy. The matter was resolved right away! The unit was spacious for 6 adults with enjoyable space for cards and games. Kitchen had all of the basics, although our cooking needs were minimal. I would note that the building is old and did not seem newly renovated, that said if your main goal is enjoying Acadia and Bar Harbor, this is a top notch choice! We would absolutely return if we had a small group.

If location is your primary or only priority, this place may meet your needs. Walking to restaurants and shops is very convenient. Off street parking is very important and helpful in Bar Harbor. The description “Newly Renovated in-town five bdrm apartment. Walk to shore & shops” is a bit misleading. The 5th bedroom “Little Twig Loft” may be suitable for one small child. While it may provide a place for a child to sleep, it’s not a traditional bedroom as the title suggests. As compared to other similar rentals we have had, this one was not as well supplied with the basics as we are accustomed. In the check-in instructions the host provided the day before we arrived, he did point out that supplies are limited. We didn’t expect to run out of toilet paper in one of the bathrooms after two days of a four-day stay. Fortunately there is a nearby grocery store It’s an old building with old but interesting wood floors. We quickly learned that we shouldn’t walk around barefooted because of splinters. Two of the bedrooms are a good size, another is adequate. One of the queen rooms only has space for one nightstand. If you are sleeping on the side with no nightstand, there is no place to put a bedside lamp, your book, phone or charger. Bathrooms are small with no counter space. This place boils down to location, location, location.

Wonderful Stay!

We enjoyed every part of our stay in Bar Harbor. You could not get a better location or more space. The place had everything we could need to be right at home. The beds were comfy, rooms were spacious, bathrooms are tight but the extra half bath makes up for it, plenty of towels and nice linens.

Maine vacay

This setting was perfect for downtown Bar Harbor, a bakery/coffee shop downs and a short walk to Main Street. It had a great communal room, perfect for gatherings and games. The floor was rough wood, so we had to be care to wear slippers, still had a few splinters. Would stay again, beautiful location!

Thank you for your review and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Regarding the floors, they are original wide plank pine over 100 years old and although we have sanded and finished them, the wood is soft and can splinter occasionally. This has not been a problem in the past and we wish you had brought the area of concern to our attention while you were here. We want you to know that we will go over the floor carefully and repair any splintered edges. We hope to host you again! Best, Thomas and Jodi

Girls trip

Host was very helpful with a couple little issues with WiFi and cleaning supplies. Great location for spending time in Bar Harbor. Thank goodness one of the girls cancelled because the 5th bedroom would not have been good accommodations for an adult.

Hi Janet, Thank you for your review and glad that you enjoyed your stay! I just wanted to clarify for others reading the review, that the fifth bedroom is listed as a single/twin. It is a "loft", upper bunk bed style, custom built-in bed and many adults have enjoyed it without issue. That being said, it is more suited to kids and teens, who really love it! Sincerely, Thomas

Great Location and spacious apartment

This apartment was great for our family. We have been to Bar Harbor several times and this location was awesome. everything was walkable and it was nice and quiet at night. No issues with anything in the apartment. The check in and out was clear and the host was very communicative and available and checked in on us via vrbo message over the course of our stay! Thanks for a great trip. would def stay here again.

Great stay with friends!

Great rental unit with close proximity to everything in Bar Harbor. Easy walk to grocery, bakery, restaurants, the harbor and all the sites. The unit was spacious and had everything we needed. Only recommendation is that they either clean the bedroom carpets or replace with new. Otherwise wonderful stay. Thank you!

Hi Frances, Thank you for your review and glad you enjoyed your stay. We do clean the carpets routinely, but it is almost impossible to replace them during the season as most turnovers are same day. They are scheduled to be replaced before next season. Best, Thomas

Dear Eileen, I am sorry to see your review and find out only now that there was an issue. Due to the 4th of July holiday the wonderful bakery downstairs did not have their scheduled trash pickup. I was unaware of this, and had you reached out to me I could have gone and done it myself. I have spoken to the owner of the bakery and we have added an additional pick up day for the trash. I apologize for any negative experience you had, however I do think that it was unfair to question the cleanliness of my apartment based on this. As you can see from our other reviews, my cleaners do a wonderful job and is reflected in our excellent rating. I hope you will stay with us again in the future, and please reach out to any VRBO host directly with any concerns. Most of us will be happy to remedy a negative situation as quickly as possible. Sincerely, Thomas

Great apartment in perfect in town location

We’ve been visiting Acadia every summer for about 10 years but this was our first spring visit and our first time staying right in the town. The apartment was a great location—we could walk right into town whenever we wanted and w were just a few minute drive into the park. The apartment itself was great—super spacious with a really nice and well stocked kitchen. We made dinners several nights and hung out on the lovely couches. The hosts were very easy to communicate with. Overall, a great stay band would definitely recommend staying here!

Excellent Location

You couldn't wish for a better location: close to shops and restaurants (but not in the middle of all the traffic/congestion), less than 2 miles from Cadillac Summit Rd entrance, 600' from the grocery store, and right above a bakery that serves awesome breakfast sandwiches and pastries. Just park you car and walk anywhere in Bar Harbor or dive 4 minutes and you are in Acadia NP (with a parking spot when you get back. Plenty of room for 3 or 4 couples-rooms are all spaced apart so you still have privacy. Great accommodations to beat the record heat where we are from (Arizona).

Great stay for our first time to Bar Harbor!

This second floor apartment was fantastic and more than enough space for six adults and one child. Excellent beds, linens, water pressure, and all the items you need for a stay that feels truly like home. It has character and exceptional quality for its “age” (referring to the historical beauty and legacy of the building), but all the modern amenities and comfort you need. Clearly the owners were thoughtful of what their guests would want or need when doing such thoughtful renovations. We absolutely loved our stay and it made for a wonderful home base for our first time to Bar Harbor. Thank you so much for offering a great home!

Great location, clean and comfortable, responsive host

The apartment is extremely convenient to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. Location is unbeatable. Less than a 1/2 mile walk to harbor and downtown shops/restaurants. Grocery store, bike rentals, great restaurants even closer! The only thing it's missing is outdoor space if that's important. Apartment has been remodeled with modern fixtures, is spacious, well lit, and has a well appointed kitchen. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms and kitchen very clean, hot water and great pressure in the showers. We stayed in early May, before the season, and had an issue that in the end was fairly resolved by the host who was very responsive and took ownership, very refreshing. I would stay here again.

Wonderful place!

We have stayed at a lot of VRBOs around the world, and this one was great! Our first impression walking in was how immaculately clean it was. The set up was great for our family of 8, including grandparents, parents & kids. Parking in the back was nice as street parking is all paid. The apartment is right above Mount Dessert which is cute and has more than just baked goods. We walked downtown, everything was very close including lots of amazing restaurants. Our daughter is celiac gluten free and there were lots of options. We drove to Acadia and rented an Acadia Gem EV one day which was really fun. We did lots of hikes and it was great to be in nature. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying in this rental! Having the 5 bedrooms was so nice!
