Pleasant stay

Nice quiet and peaceful area. Location is very close to my former residence so very close to many friends. Very relaxing spot to enjoy the koi pond.

Cottage with everything

This 1BDR, 1BA cottage has everything for an enjoyable stay. Living room offers large book and DVD collections for use. Backyard has inviting bbq, chairs, and access to the peaceful next-door koi pond dock. Check-in after dark was no problem, as the host left the light on, and walked out to show us the way in.

Clean yet dated + HOT

The property is beautiful and serene, the apartment is clean however very dated. Some kind of air conditioning would have been nice, it was awfully hot even in the evenings.For the price, we feel at least a mobile air conditioning unit and laundry should have been provided. We would stay here again if we didn’t have other options. It’s at least clean and well kept.

The smell of the many trees surrounding the property was invigorating. While there are neighboring properties within eyesight, and the owners live on site, our experience was very peaceful. From what the owner told me upon our arrival Spring might be the best time to visit when everything is blooming. The grounds had a Wintertime dead look while we stayed over Christmas. The unit was comfortably furnished, and wood was provided for the stove. The only negative thing I have to say about the terms of the rental is that the check-out time of ten a.m. is too early.

Nice, Clean and Cute

The cottage is lovely, and was a great place for us to use as a home base for some adventures. I will say though that it wasn’t as private as the listing suggested, but we also didn’t feel too exposed. The rental process was odd, since it’s actually done through a 3rd party company other than VRBO. It wasn’t bad, just different. I think the listing should mention that at least because it caught me off guard. It was raining almost our entire trip which was lovely. We didn’t really get a chance to enjoy the koi pond, but what we saw of it from the main drive it was gorgeous. The whole property is stunning, especially in the rain! I imagine that big tree in front looks amazing in the fall. Overall, it is a great property and I would likely stay here again. The host is super nice too!

Relaxing and has everything needed. Quiet for the most part, dogs on the property occasionally bark.

Nice self-contained cottage. Enjoyed stay very much.

Wonderful stay!

This was the perfect place for my husband and I. We attended an event at the Nevada County Fairgrounds and this cottage was just the right distance for us to come back to in the afternoon between morning and evening events. The cottage was immaculate, comfortable, clean, ... couldn't ask for anything more! Easy instructions to enter the property (gated) and the cottage. All worked great!

An oasis in big tree

We had such a lovely stay in Grass Valley. Our hosts were so hospitable, offering us ample space to enjoy our escape while also engaging us with friendly conversation, and through touring the property to see its amazing flora. The koi pond, in particular, was such a beautiful place to sit quietly and great each morning. Our whole family deeply enjoyed our stay, and we'd return in a heart beat!

Peaceful cottage

My husband, my 5 yr old daughter and myself were visiting family in California and needed a place to stay due to my mother in law's house was under renovations. We found the cottage listing on VRBO and thought it would work great for our family. It was wonderful!! When we arrived Jay greeted us and later on in our stay Jay & Chad gave us a tour of the property. My daughter loved the swings and thought the Koi fish were the greatest fish ever! We met the dogs Bonnie & Clyde. They were very sweet and playful. We were only in the cottage in the mornings and late evenings but it was very cozy. The comfortable bed and linens made it hard to get moving in the mornings. My daughter also enjoyed playing games and watching movies in the cottage. Jay and Chad were wonderful hosts and we would definitely return, shall we ever need to rent a place while visiting family.

A peaceful and quiet time in the woods …

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our Grass Valley get-away. The cottage met all our needs and more. It was clean, organized and so easy to live in. We streamed movies, made wood burning fires, fed the koi in the pond, and walked about the many incredible gardens surrounding the cottage. Communication with our hosts was warm and welcoming. Wonderful VRBO in Grass Valley

Our stay at the Cottage in Grass Valley was so peaceful and lovely. Our Host was available and accommodating. The town of Grass Valley had lots of choices for food and groceries if you choose that route. Great vacation!

Amazing

I've taken too long on writing this review! Jay & Chad were great hosts and the space was really perfect for us. We needed calm and outdoor space and this gave us just that and the ground are so beautiful. Even though both Chad, Jay, and their mom Jean live on the property it was very private. Jean was lovely and we found out we've a connection, in that my husband, myself, and she grew up in the same state... nowhere near California. It really is a small world! They were also very, very accommodating in allowing our daughter to stay with us as a really last minute addition for a couple of nights so she could see her brother before he deploys and additionally surprise her dad for his birthday! We hadn't been together as a family since December of 2019 so this was really special to us all. Thank you so much Jay and family; you truly made our year!

Garden Paradise

A really unique garden setting. When we arrived, Jay gave us a tour of the property. Everything was in full bloom and Jay was an excellent host. House was roomy and comfortable.

A little piece of paradise in the woods

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage outside of Grass Valley, California. The 2 acre property is absolutely gorgeous, with gravel paths that lead to picturesque settings with azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias, dogwoods, Japanese maple trees and many many more plants and flowers. We enjoyed visiting the Koi pond twice a day, picnicking in a small meadow, swinging our two-year-old in a swing near the greenhouse and enjoying looking at the garden. The dwelling itself was very comfortable and clean. Would highly recommend this Vrbo rental!

The cottage was perfect for our stay to visit family. We enjoyed going to the Koi pond and feeding the fish. The family lives on site but everything is separate and they took care of our needs. A great place to stay!
