Welcome to your exclusive Hunter Valley escape - a luxurious, privately hosted cottage nestled on a 28-acre working vineyard in the heart of Pokolbin. With no shared spaces and an exclusive stay on the estate, enjoy stunning vineyard and mountain views, kangaroos grazing, and ducks paddling in the dam. Personally managed by owners, the cottage has 4 bedrooms (2 ensuites) and is well-equipped for a relaxing stay. Centrally located, you’re close to wineries, restaurants, wedding & concert venues – the perfect base for your Hunter Valley getaway.

Unlike properties managed by agencies or booking platforms, this is a truly private stay with no shared spaces and direct contact with the owners for a more personal, seamless experience. Expect warm hospitality, generous spaces, and serene surroundings.

Thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation, the home features four spacious king bedrooms - two upstairs with private ensuites and Juliette balconies overlooking the vines, and two downstairs with tranquil views of the dam. A third large bathroom downstairs includes both a bath and shower, perfect for groups and families.

Enjoy open-plan living with sweeping views of the Brokenback Ranges, the dam, and surrounding vines. The generous lounge comfortably seats 8 and features a cozy slow-combustion fireplace (BYO firewood). There’s also indoor dining for 8, and an outdoor entertaining area with dining and a Weber BBQ - ideal for relaxed meals overlooking the vineyard.

The fully equipped gourmet kitchen includes a stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine (with pods), refrigerator, kettle, and a full set of utensils and cookware, making self-catering effortless.

Lovely property & great location

Home among the vines

It is not often that the property surpasses the pictures. This is one such place. The location is quiet and serence on the rolling lawn and up into the vines. The kangaroos bounded past the verandah where we sat to watch the sun sink with a glass after our stroll across the property. The combustion fire set the scene for family games in the lounge whilst the ducted system made all the bedrooms toasty. The downstairs bedrooms are comfortable and homely whilst the upstairs are opulent and luxurious. Morning sun greeted us through every window as we watched the hot air balloons slowly rise over Mount Yengo. To say nothing of its proximity to the surrounding vinyards, estates and restaurants. Lovely country drives and Hunter hospitality. Iyla exceeded our expectations on every scale. We cannot wait until our next visit.

A perfect Hunter Valley experience.

Waking to incredible sunrises reflected on the water/dam is an amazing way to start the day. Everything about Iyla Estate exceeded expectations. From wandering through the vineyard, watching the bird life, sitting on the deck watching the sunsets with a glass of local wine all contributed to a very relaxing holiday. The house is very well appointed, comfortable beds with lovely bedding, a large dining room, very comfortable sitting room with views over the vineyard and distant mountains. The kitchen was fully equipped which gave us the opportunity to prepare lovely meals with quality Hunter Valley produce. It was a very drive to wineries and restaurants. Poonam was a delight to communicate with. All her instructions about the property were clear and concise. Can’t recommend this property highly enough.

Family Getaway

We absolutely loved our stay at Iyla Estate. We went as a family with our daughter's & their partner's, so there was 7 of us all up & we had plenty of room. It is a well thought out home with all your creature comforts to allow for an enjoyable experience. From coffee pods for the coffee machine, to a great selection off tea's, sugar, baking paper & even napkins. We loved the wood fire & wood provided for the cold nights along with the board games which we had fun playing. Iyla Estate is very private, quiet & the views are breathtaking. It is conveniently located to restaurants, vineyards & breweries. Poonam was a wonderful hosts & was so accommodating to all of our needs. He was quick to respond & nothing was to much trouble. We would definitely recommend Iyla Estate & we look forward to returning, hopefully very soon :)

We hired the estate out for half of the wedding party. It was clean, easy to find and nicely done. We enjoyed out stay and would 100% do so again.

Iyla estate

We stayed at the Iyla estate for 4 nights, and it was still not enough. We absolutely loved the house and the surrounding views. Poonam was an amazing host and so accommodating. We can't wait to come back again definitely a 5 star place.

Lovely, spacious and great views!

We had a lovely time. House was spacious, comfortable with amazing views of the grape vines and mountain ranges. Kids loved the outdoors and spent time watching the ducks by the pond. Location quite central and easy to access all the popular vineyards & tourist locations. Poonam was a gracious host and very quick to respond to our queries.....we would love to be back for another visit soon....😊

I am a cardiac scientist by profession and science is my passion.

My family and I moved away from the hustle and bustle of the city seeking the peace and quiet of farm and vineyard lifestyle at iyla Estate.

We’re proud to open our home to guests while we’re away — not just as a place to stay, but as a chance to experience a self-sustaining lifestyle on a boutique working vineyard. Powered by solar energy and solar hot water, the property runs entirely on rainwater (filtered through a two-stage purification system), and uses a 100% eco-friendly on-site sewage system.

As a small vineyard transitioning to organic practices, your stay directly supports us in managing the high costs involved in the shift to more sustainable farming, and in caring for the land and its native flora and fauna.

As a host I will endeavour to make your stay at our home as convenient and joyful as possible.

If you are into a bit of vineyard history, the iyla Estate has the oldest vines in the Hunter valley region. The 1 ha of Cabernet sauvignon was planted in 1974 and 1.5 ha of Traminer the following year.
