Dirty and smelly

The property was musty smelling and dirty. I ended up cleaning furniture, lights, window sills, and counters, etc. There were mouse dropping under kitchen sink. Even with our venting and fans the smell never left. The outdoor furniture in living room was very uncomfortable. The rugs are filthy and cobweb’s in corners of rooms. Just yuck! I expect more for spending this amount.

Great location, but left a bit to be desired.

This property is just a quick walk to the beach which was super convenient. There's a public beach access just down the road, which is a quick walk but you could also drive and park there. The house has a new well-constructed deck and the side screen porch was a great place to relax and enjoy meals. The inside needs some updating and a thorough cleaning. We had an issue connecting to wifi when we first arrived (which we needed as our daughter is taking an online summer class and had assignments to turn in which required wifi). After a few phone calls and not much help from the office or help desk, we used the network and password info printed on the back of the router and that worked. (The wifi info provided on our welcome packet did not work.) The first night we were there, we killed a large cockroach. We notified Stan White Realty the following morning after they texted us to see how the rental was and they sent pest control out that afternoon and he sprayed all around the house and thankfully we didn't see any more critters the rest of the week. Overall, this is a basic little beach house convenient to the beach, outlets, Jockey's Ridge, piers, aquarium in Manteo, and Bodie Island lighthouse, but could use some updates inside.

Enjoyable stay

Very lovely stay, the neighborhood was quiet. There was a delay in our check in due to a repair needed but we didn't mind. Great for a small family looking to enjoy the beach.
