Great size for a family of 4. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms is amazing when traveling with teenager girls vs. staying in one hotel room. The unit was nice - beds were comfortable, kitchen was nice to have, and the beach chairs to use were very, very appreciated! Proximity to everything was a huge plus! We were close to Costco, Target, beaches, restaurants! (Only 2 miles from Costco cheaper gas & pizza!) The neighbors upstairs were a bit loud at times stomping and speaking loudly, but honestly, they quieted down at night so can't really complain. There was a car that was broken into with someone's belongs thrown on the road into Banyan Harbor. Seeing that on our way to check in made the kids feel quite uneasy at first, but after it was cleaned up and being there a day, they felt a little more at ease, but they were uncomfortable walking around much. The east side of the island might not be as glamorous as the north, but being half way meant we could see a lot of the island without having to drive that far. (Small boat harbor on the south side was only 45 minutes away and the beautiful Ha'ena State Park on the north side was a bit over an hour away and definitely worth the drive!). For the price with air conditioning and 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms, I would say this rental is a good deal really!

Great stay

We stayed here for a week and it was great! It's a short walk to multiple restraints, stores, the beach, and a great local gym. Plenty of parking when we stayed. Would recommend.

Kauai Get-A-Way

Stayed end of April to beginning of May. Nice and clean condo. Centrally located. Simply decorated. Kitchen had basic necessities to cook meals. There was a toaster. Rice cooker. Couple 9x13 pans. Pack ziplock bags (gallon quart sandwich) for leftovers etc. In unit washer dryer so nice to have. Beach towels and chairs provided. Nice to return from beach and turn on air conditioning.

Relaxing and Fun

Banyan Harbor had everything we needed for a lovely Kauai vacation - the condo is as advertised with a wonderful pool and a great location near the airport and town of Lihue. It was an easy home base for us to travel all around the island. Restaurants, shops, a local beach were within walking distance and we could see cruise ships come and go. It was a very comfortable home base for us, quiet, a lovely garden landscape off the lanai, our own flock of the famous chickens on the island. We very much enjoyed our visit!

Quiet place but felt misled

It was a great location being in Lihue. The grounds were very quiet, which I appreciated. There was a strong smell of mildew that gave me a headache the first few days of the stay until I adjusted. I suspect the AC units need a good cleaning. It's a good thing we didn't spend much time in the unit. The unit also needs a good deep cleaning. Seeing the layer of dust on the light fixtures above the kitchen countertop gave me the ick. I appreciated having the beach chairs, but wish the cooler was a little bigger. The washer and dryer are very small, and we had to run the dryer twice for each load to get items dry all the way. For the money, We came across a total of 3 cockroaches in the unit throughout our stay. They were immobilized but still alive, so I assume they are being treated for. We also came across a very large wolf spider that was very much alive. We felt like the photos were misleading and that the unit would be in better condition based on the photos in the listing. We will stay elsewhere next time. The staff were very nice, and it was comforting to see the security guy making himself visible all hours of the day.

The water heater is worn out. The couches and beds were old. Turning off air conditioning every time we left was a pain. It was hot and musty smelling every time we returned. Mold issues in the bathrooms. Sliding door didn’t lock and had to call maintenance.

Our upstairs neighbors were rude and loud throughout 3 nights of our stay with friends who were less happy than we. Too many workers and equipment were parked near our unit. My family stayed here for a family event. We rented 5 units in the complex – This unit was the best of the 5. This unit has three (3) window A/C and ceiling fans- in living area in each bedroom. This was a BIG plus as it was very hot while we were there. The other units did not have this many A/Cs. This is a corner unit and has 3 patios making it feel more open. The other units did not have 3 patios. This unit has a jungle lush back yard with chickens walking around which I really enjoyed. Other units did not have this backyard.I booked with Garden Isle others booked through Vrbo. They paid substantially more because of the Vrbo fees. Garden Isle offered free early check-in, which was awesome after a 6 hour flight. The Vrbo units, early check in was not an option. One that had the option was an additional $100 for early check in fee.The sliding door lock stopped working, I made a call to Garden Isle and it was fixed immediately. Sheets were white and clean. Tile floor easy to sweep. Very clean and simple. Bathtubs in both bathrooms. Wifi, washer and dryer, beach chairs.Perfect location so much to do. We had the BEST time... GREAT unit.

Great location to many popular and good restaurants. Close to the airport. Our unit was perfect for a family of 6. Having TWO bathrooms is such a luxury! The a/c worked well. We utilized the washer/dryer. Great size bathrooms with large countertops. The beds were extremely comfortable. Kitchen was completely functional. The pool was huge and the temperature just right! We would definitely stay here again!!!

Family vacation

13 family members stayed in Lihue and had a wonderful experience. Time spent at the many beaches on the island, shopping, tubing, fishing, sight seeing, hiking, visiting and eating together. Wonderful accommodations and friendly helpful people. Would love to come again.

It was centrally located with shops and restaurants at walking distance. The beach is also right across the road from Banyan Harbor. We would definitely stay at this Apt.(E56) again. We were with other family who also stayed at Banyan harbor who weren’t as happy with their rental.

Reviewer Comments: One earlier we stayed at H89, their place was much more updated with remote control ceiling fans, lights, washer dryer, bathroom shower slip matt, and laundry detergent were more current. E56 unfortunately needed more current upgrades. Bathroom shower tube had ne slip matt, tube had low spot so after shower water tube had water remain, which might has mild dew smell lingering. Screen door for one of the bedroom was broken. Kitchen dishes and utensils are outdated too. Other then that everything was wonderful. Thank you
