Ripplewood, a serene riverfront cabin, decks, hot tub, BBQ, dog-friendly

Ripplewood - Meredith Lodging

Ripplewood is a serene and calming cabin along the Salmon River. Feel cool breezes rustling through the trees with the sounds of the rushing river and songbirds all around. This spacious and peaceful cabin on over an acre at the end of the road will be your favorite respite from everyday life. Relax in the open great room with wall-to-wall view windows and the gas fireplace. When you want to watch TV, use the remote to raise it out of the cabinet, leaving it hidden away when you want to spend time in conversation or playing a board game. The brand new kitchen with the 5-burner gas range is perfect for creating delicious meals to be shared at the spacious dining table.

Take a short walk to the river, where you will be serenaded by the confluence of the Salmon River with a side channel. The trails behind the cabin will take you to the Bonanza Trailhead in less than 5 minutes.

There are two large bedrooms upstairs; the first bedroom with a queen bed, and love seat, and window views of the Salmon River. The second bedroom includes two queen beds for the kids or two single adults. The brand new upstairs bathroom is shared by both bedrooms and includes a tub and shower enclosure. The second full bathroom is downstairs near the kitchen. You will have a large laundry room with extra storage for personal items.

The large covered porch on the front of the cabin is where you will find the hot tub with views of the forest and peek-a-boo views of the Salmon River. The new Weber gas grill is on the covered porch, making it convenient to bring dinner in to the dining table. The Ripplewood is pet-friendly, and we welcome your mature dogs to join you during your vacation.

A beautiful house in a beautiful setting. Tricky to find. House could’ve been cleaner especially floors but it’s also in the middle of the forest. Bedding and kitchen nice and clean. Beds are pretty comfortable. The dogs had a blast- nice to be able to just walk out the door and go on a hike.

Beautiful location, excellent hot tub, the house was lovely and with well stocked with towels and all the kitchen tools we needed for big meals after busy days on the mountain. We had an excellent response from the property management when we needed to request additional propane for the BBQ grill. We would definitely book this house again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm sorry that maintenance and cleanliness concerns kept your stay from being perfect. We will have the housekeeping team deep clean the windows and the kitchen items. The maintenance team will inspect the slider and did replace the smoke detector immediately following your visit. I will also have the housekeeping team thoroughly search for the fans in each closet and should they not be found, we will replace them promptly. Very clean and nice inside. Met housekeeper when we arrived, couldn't have been nicer or more thorough. Location is good for exploring the area, and fun to be right on the Salmon River for swimming, etc., although you have to drive to get to any of the trailheads. The hot tub was in desperate need of a drain and refill, water smelled like B.O., even with the little treatment cups they provided. Our suits smelled like feet after getting out. The kitchen was nice, but the oven didn't work at all. We had to cut our frozen pizza in to smaller pieces and use the toaster oven, which took a long time to get it all cooked.

Thank you for staying at Ripplewood and for the review. I’m sorry your stay didn’t earn five stars. I’m glad the home felt so clean and that the location right there on the water was such a highlight. And thank you for the kind words about your interaction with our team member. I apologize the hot tub water smelled and that your swimsuits picked up an odor — that’s unacceptable. We’ve shared this with our housekeeping and maintenance teams so the tub will be drained, fully sanitized, and our procedures reviewed. I’m also sorry the oven didn’t work; maintenance has been notified to repair or replace it and do a thorough check of the other appliances while there, too. Thank you for the feedback — please message us through the Vrbo app if you’d like to share any additional details.

Comfort and Relaxation

We especially enjoyed the beautiful setting, deep in the forest. Loved hearing the river so close by. Very nice and well appointed kitchen. The hot tub was a nice bonus. We were 4 adults but there is plenty of room for a family with children. Comfy beds. We would definitely stay here again. Perfect for our weekend get-away.

Beautiful and relaxing spot on the salmon river in Welches

Lovely house right on the salmon river and tucked in the forest at the end of a peaceful dead end street. Feels like living in perfect comfort under the canopy of forest trees. The sound of the salmon river is bliss. Sitting on the porch or soaking in the hot tub was so relaxing after a lovely hike on the Bonanza trail that is easily reachable right through your backyard. Will be beach for sure!

Cozy getaway cabin

We were lucky to find this gem of a cabin for a last minute ski trip. The house is cozy and has everything we needed to spend a weekend. Each night we fell asleep to the white noise created by the sound of rushing river nearby. Kids enjoyed watching tv and reading books sitting in giant bean chairs. My husband and I loved drinking coffee from owl mugs sitting at the beautiful kitchen island. We are excited to have found a house we would love to come back to.

House was nice but VERY sparse bath linens (only 2 washcloths!), very few dish cloths, 1 crappy roll of paper towels, very limited kitchen utensils, no extra blankets. Overall for the price, I’d expect a better stocked house. God forbid someone spills a glass of water?! Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling & cleaning could be better.

Thank you for staying with us and for letting us know the home felt sparsely stocked and that housekeeping team missed cobwebs — that’s not the experience we aim to provide. We do only supply starter amounts of soaps and paper goods and ask renters to purchase more should that be necessary. I've passed your notes to our housekeeping team so they can address the cleaning issues right away. If you’d like to share any more details, please message us through the Vrbo app. We hope to host you again.

It was okay

The place was nice, clean with a nice kitchen. The back deck wasn’t available for use as it had a thick VERY SLICK so much so that I slipped and hurt my back. The front “path” to the water was over grown and has no lights so chilling by the water isn’t an option. Overall it was just okay.

Beautiful Location!

Nice, clean cabin at the end of a quiet street. Bedrooms & bathrooms were updated & a nice size. There is a washer & dryer but bring your detergent & dryer sheets as none were provided. If you go in the summer, there is no AC or fans but lots of windows to get cross breeze. The biggest con for us was the Ring motion light over the fire pit. It was annoying bright & sensitive to any movement. Unfortunately it made sitting my the fire a really uncomfortable experience.

perfect house and setting but horrible experience

hot tub did not work and we got zero response on it getting fixed. there were mouse droppings in the laundry room and kitchen that where reappearing daily. we had a light stuck on and got no answers or response on a solution so the living room couch could not be slept on. we had a bear get into the trash nightly because the trash can wasn't bear proof. we are ok with bears and currently live around them daily but without the proper can the trash had to be kept inside. the house itself and its setting was amazing, just needed better management on some basic issues.

Beautiful cabin by the river

We had a wonderful time! So cozy and beautiful. We should have rented it for an extra day. Really wanted to just sit at the covered bench over looking the river for a while. Over all the our stay was awesome! Figuring out the directions on they way were a little confusing but with one person driving and the other navigating we made it! Also wished the hot tub could be a bit warmer. Other than those two things, this place is wonderful!
