French Beach oceanfront! Beautifully updated executive four-bedroom, three-bath home overlooking the stunning Juan de Fuca Strait. Sweeping and exceptional oceanfront views from every room on the main level including office, kitchen, dining room, living room, and wrap-around deck. Master bedroom and ensuite bathroom with fantastic soaker tub and shower are privately situated on the upper floor, again with 180 ocean front views.

On the lower level are three bedrooms – one is a murphy bed/office combo, a full bathroom, as well as a shared sitting area with TV. Each bedroom includes an ocean front view, and there are two exits from the lower/split level, a walk-out to ocean view, or another to the garden area.

The property is surrounded by ocean, beautiful gardens, majestic trees and wildlife. Enjoy watching small creatures like hummingbirds as well as soaring bald eagles and sea lions from the wrap-around porch while you prep dinner on the gas-fired BBQ. If your timing is right you might also spot some whales traveling along the strait. The exceptional, gourmet kitchen features a six-burner gas range, Jura coffee machine, all appliances and more. Or just order take-out from Stoked Pizza, minutes away.

We have furnished this home for our personal use with high-end linens, towels, dishware, etc. High-speed Wi-Fi, landline with Canada-wide calling and excellent printer allows one to work from the 270-degree ocean view office (if you must). We have two office areas, one with a fixed desk and the second with an adjustable standing desk.

There is a path at the end of the street that takes you to French Beach, making it faster to walk than drive. Our place is a great jumping-off point to explore Vancouver Island’s wild southwest coast. Walk to Flea Beach, or French Beach in minutes or drive up the coast to Sandcut Beach (10 minutes), Jordan River (15 minutes), China and Mystic Beaches (20 minutes). You can also make a day of it and visit Port Renfrew (50 minutes) with stops at Sombrio Beach or Botanical Beach but try to go at low tide so you can be amazed by the vernal pools and ocean floor.
Or spend the day visiting beautiful Victoria, just an hour away.

The house was beautiful and provided a majority of essentials that made our arrival comfortable, due to flying! The location is accommodating for sight seeing, hiking and relaxing! We enjoyed breakfast at Shirley Delicious and dinner at Point No Point as it was quaint, with excellent food! We enjoyed a daily show of watching the seals , whales and a bald eagle from the balcony. Pack binoculars!

Paul's house and garden is absolutely beautiful. The views over the sea are stunning. The house was very comfortable and the kitchen had just about everything you could possibly need. The location is perfect with short walks to French beach, flea beach and Sheringham lighthouse.Paul is very friendly and responsive. I would love to stay here again.

Great stay!

We had such a great stay at this beautiful and relaxing home. Everything was even better than advertised. We witnessed eagles everyday, watched whales spouting while we had our coffee, and loved all the convenient beaches. Great dinners cooked in the kitchen from our own seafood catches! Family time perfection.

Absolutely Stunning Stay – Even Better Than the Photos!

This house exceeded all our expectations. The view is even more breathtaking in person than the pictures suggest. The home is beautifully decorated with lush plants and tasteful design that makes it feel like a cozy, peaceful retreat—not just a rental.The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could need, including glassware and cooking essentials. The bathrooms are also well-equipped and meticulously clean. We loved the easy-to-use fireplace, comfortable beds (even the Murphy bed!), and thoughtful touches throughout.The host was extremely responsive and provided helpful suggestions along with a detailed guide. The property is very private and quiet—you don’t see or hear other homes, and there’s no traffic noise at all. We enjoyed watching wildlife right from the deck using the telescope—eagles, seals, whales, and even a bunny made an appearance!The location is perfect: close to Sooke and surrounded by natural attractions. It’s a wonderful spot for adults looking to unwind. One note: the driveway is steep and best suited for a vehicle with high ground clearance. We rented a Yukon, which worked well.Overall, this place is peaceful, well-maintained, and worth every penny. We highly recommend it—you won’t be disappointed!

Stunning

Our family stayed at this home for a week in the middle of a three-week roadtrip and it was absolutely amazing. The panoramic views of the Salish Sea were stunning. We were visited by a bald eagle flying past the deck multiple times a day, so close we could hear the wind from its wings! We saw harbor seals and a sea otter in the water below. The house is really well laid out, with views from every floor, comfortable, modern, beautiful, with a fabulous cooking kitchen. It was also a nice location for day trips to Victoria or up the coast to Botany Bay. We didn't want to leave!

What a great trip overall. Some pros and cons; Pros: Amazing property with beautiful views. Property had everything we needed. Easy to locate. Owner rsponsiveness was excellent. Cons: For the rental cost and cleaning fee having to take garbage to a dump is a bit inconvenient. Bbq, multiple dishes and childrens high chair all needed a thorough cleaning before use. Overall excellent stay, would highly recommend and would definitely come back!

An absolute gem

I can't emphasize enough how amazing this place was. From the moment we came down the steep drive and saw the house, nestled among the trees on the coast, we knew this was going to be a special trip. We had 4 generations in one house, from age 1.5 to 85, and there was plenty of room and everyone had a blast. We've never stayed at a better-equipped rental, and to say the views are stunning is an understatement. On top of that, communication with our host was wonderful, both before and during our stay! We would not hesitate to stay here again, it was pure magic.

Amazing Experience

Our stay at this home was an amazing experience . The host was easy to contact and quickly responded to any questions we had. The house was beautiful and clean. The views from the deck were breathtaking. Many afternoons and evenings where spent on the deck watching seals, otters and sea lions in the water near by. We also were able to see whales in the distance on many occasions. This was truly a great experience.

Wow, just wow!

The view will take your breath away. The house has everything you need. It’s exactly as advertised. Exactly. Paul our host was accessible and anytime we had a question he responded very quickly. While staying at the house we saw a black bear from the balcony less than 1-2 m away. We saw him again several days later eating berries by the garage. We had eagles flying over head in front of the house numerous times. Bohemian wax wings could be seen in the trees out the front. While we were out and about we saw 4 more Black bears, while whale watching out if Sooke we sighted 5 humpbacks and while exploring Botanical beach we had a humpback fishing in the bay less than 100m away. Fishing out of Port Renfrew was very successful with over 43 pounds of cut and wrapped Salmon, Halibut and Ling Cod plus 9 Dungeness Crabs. This was one of the best vacations our family of 8 ever had!! Thank you Paul and Kathy for sharing your little piece of Paradise with us. We are feeling very blessed to have had the opportunity to stay at Seaside.

Perfection

If I could give more than 5 stars I absolutely would. This place is beautiful - exactly what the pictures show it to be. The views of the ocean are breathtaking, and the gardens out front are from a fairytale. The house was immaculately clean and very well stocked with towels, linens detergents, etc. The kitchen has everything that one could possibly need. Every appliance, big and small, was available to us. The grill on the deck is top notch too. There is so much to do! Hiking trails and a lighthouse down the street one way and access to beautiful beaches the other way. The homeowner was very kind and easy to communicate with. My family had never been to the Pacific Northwest, so Paul directed us with which ferry to take. Thank you so much for allowing us to use your beautiful home!!

Luxury house in incredible location

This luxurious house is located in a well-kept garden on a cliff directly above the Juan de Fuca strait. The description on vrbo is absolutely accurate and there is really nothing to add - except that the view is even more beautiful and breathtaking than can be described in words.

Beautiful Property

This house was well appointed especially the kitchen. The grounds were beautifully manicured and the view off the deck is postcard worthy. We were close to so many beaches and a great pizza restaurant down the road. 10/10 would recommend this property to any friends and family and we will be back!

The property is surrounded by gardens, ferns, and beautiful trees as you drive into the residence. Once in our home, all you see is the magnificent ocean. There are two office spaces, one in the split lower level that allows you to cacoon and focus, one on the main floor as well - just wear your headsets if you are easily distracted.
