This beautiful 4-bedroom, 3-bath oceanfront home will be your favorite Hatteras Village vacation home with picturesque ocean views! Located close to the north end of Hatteras Village, you are conveniently located to some of the best restaurants, shopping, art galleries, museums, charter boats, and marinas that Hatteras Island has to offer. Take a day trip to Ocracoke, the ferries are a hop skip, and a jump away. You can't miss the pristine beaches of Hatteras Island right outside your door with private beach access. The fun does not stop after a day at the beach! Enjoy a private saltwater pool area, hot tub, and game room, or unwind on the expansive decks. Dolphin's Reach is also dog-friendly!

Ground Level: Exterior amenities include a fully gated private saltwater pool, carport, and driveway that fit 5-6 vehicles, an outside shower, a picnic table, and a sand-path beach walkway. Accessible only by the ground-level exterior door, the Recroom has a foosball table, shuffleboard, TV, and games.

Mid Level: The Mid Level is the main entry to the home. The entryway hall provides a convenient laundry area with a washer, dryer, and utility sink. Relax with ocean views in Bedroom #1, the King Master Bedroom, with a flat-screen TV and deck access to the Hot Tub. Listen to waves crash as you fall asleep in Bedroom #2, the cozy Queen Bedroom with a flat-screen TV and deck access. Also from the hallway is a spacious full bathroom, and bedroom # 3 is furnished with a bunk set, a twin bed, and a flat-screen TV.

Top Level: From the interior staircase, you are greeted with a Great Room with plenty of natural light, flat-screen cable TV/DVD, and comfortable seating. The dining area seats 8 and has deck access and ocean views. Enjoy the well-equipped kitchen with 2 refrigerators, an icemaker, and a breakfast bar seating 3. Lastly, the top level provides a full hallway bathroom and Bedroom # 4, a Queen Bedroom with a flat-screen TV.

Extras: Private saltwater pool, hot tub, 5 smart TVs with cable, DVD, shuffleboard, giant Connect 4, games, books, pack-n-play, 2 refrigerators, traditional coffee pot, Keurig, crockpot, instapot, charcoal grill, sand path beach walkway, outside shower, picnic table, parking for 5-6 vehicles. PRIVATE POOL is open from April until Mid-October
The Rooftop deck is not available for guest use

Linens and towels are provided all year. This home will provide sheets for all beds, and the beds will be made except for sleep sofas, top bunks, and trundle beds, in which case the sheets are provided. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person the house sleeps, 2 hand towels per full bathroom, 1 hand towel per half bathroom, and a bath mat for each shower or tub.

50th Anniversary Family Vacation

This was a perfect house for our family. With the two levels and four bedrooms, everyone had space to have privacy and the gathering areas were spacious. The decks provided wonderful views of the Atlantic. The private pool was an added bonus. We had a fabulous time away from the hustle and bustle.

Great location, great house.

This house was fantastic. Great ocean views, great balconies, plenty of space for 6 people. Watched dolphins in the surf every morning. We loved our stay. Only bummer was the foosball table and Wi that were listed, were not there. Not a big deal, still an outstanding place to stay.

Perfect beach location!

This house was so calming to be in, and had everything we needed to feel at home away from home. The check-in and check-out process couldn't have been easier with the keyless entry. We knew the house was oceanfront, but didn't realize how close to the beach and ocean it actually was. Pictures don't do it justice!

The house is well equipped and recent upgrades to the bathrooms makes this a welcoming home. The swimming pool is a great addition, although not heated provides a welcome break from the ocean. This home allows dogs which is a great bonus for us as we have 2 "Aussies" who need that romp on the beach.

Quiet Escape

Overall, We enjoyed our stay! The location is VERY quiet February which is exactly what we wanted. We had been living in our own Covid pod for a year and needed different walls. We did some walking tours on the trails in the area and plenty of walking on the beach. For anyone looking at doing the same, the wifi is strong! We were able to run 3 online classrooms and 2 adults working simultaneously without issue! Communication and help from the property management was outstanding. The property is nice, with wonderful views. We are a "cooking" family, the kitchen accessories need help, they are "well used" many plates and cups chipped and pots/pans need replaced.

Our three generations have experienced hurricane flooding, a mandatory evacuation for a massive power outage, college breaks and medical emergencies here! We have also shared glorious ocean views, dolphin sightings, family mischief and merrymaking! Every year there is something new! This year it was a new pool and giant sea turtles in the water beside us. We will be back next year to our "home away from home" Who knows what we will discover in 2020?

Dream Home on the beach!

This place has everything! The pool is brand new, it's a saline pool which is so far superior to a chlorinated pool I'm not able to go into it here. Basically, you can't even tell it's salted (unless you're my son who tasted it immediately.) It's smoother on the skin and I was so happy about it, I usually can't stand pools, this was an awesome way to entertain the kids after the ocean became too rough. The hottub is definitely chlorinated, about twice as much as needed. The kids didn't mind. The house is located in a fantastic spot. There is a home on either side but nothing on the north side of the northern home which means you basically share a private beach with two homes, it's awesome having a semi private beach. We had fires twice and so did the neighbors, they felt miles away. Such a huge bonus. The a/c kept the place cold, no issues there. There are TV's in every bedroom, I think. Maybe not the bunk bed room. We only used the living room TV once, but they're there if you need them. Same with ceiling fans, except we used those. Loved them, makes it feel extra cool. I never figured out how to used the dedicated icemaker in the kitchen, I should have asked about that I guess, but we were too busy enjoying ourselves, and I bought ice before I knew it was there. The multiple decks on multiple levels make for a nice escape or semi private deck experience if you go with another family. We absolutely loved the place and I'm hoping to stay an extra week next time. So good luck squeezing a week in. Watch out for ghost crabs in the pool, we found 3 each in different days. Short drive to fantastic restaurants. I loved Hatteras SOL, Dink's, Sandbar something err other, the snack shack desert place, and Oceana's(that was the longest drive). Happy Vacationing -Rich (My only issue was the game room, which was separate from the rest of the home(below the house) had a strong mildew/ mold odor. My guess is from the a/c leaking. I opened the door and then shut it and never opened it again. )

Relaxing and comfortable

We had a wonderful stay at the house. It was very clean and the furniture was comfortable. We had everything we needed to prepare and serve our Thanksgiving dinner. We were able to walk right out the door to run the local Turkey Trot (super convenient). Loved walking up to the ocean view every morning and strolling the beach as the sun rose. It was the perfect chance to get away from the day -to-day chaos and just relax and enjoy time with family.

Wonderful place to be with family

Such a wonderful house on the beach with a fun pool and hot tub that was serviced twice a week. The kitchen was stocked with nice dinnerware, utensils cookware and the two refrigerators side by side was an added bonus for 7 adults and child. The decor was just the right amount. We have already made reservations for 2023.

Some notes on Dolphin's Reach

We are longstanding renters at Dolphin's Reach and the property is exactly what my family wants in a Hatteras beach rental. We are entirely satisfied with Shore Details' management of the property. Some things that we noticed for the first time this trip though included some obvious mold in the kitchen ceiling over the sink and in the upstairs bathroom. This really needs to be addressed soon. Also the pool seemed to have a very low water level upon our arrival; we added some so that there was constant water flow into the filter intake. Finally, the basket in the dishwasher for silverware has holes in the bottom of several of the compartments, and the silverware keeps falling down through the bottom of the basket. It needs to be replaced. Otherwise everything was great and we are looking forward to our next visit in 2023, already booked.

Aug 7-14, 2022 Stay

Walking up the front door, the first thing we notice is the very rusted door lock. I get sand makes the rust quick, but this was our FIRST impression of the house. As previously mentioned in a review, the dishwasher does not “wash” very well, if any at all. The upstairs lock for the balcony/deck is also broken. The path to the beach could definitely use some trimming! (Especially for children to be walking through) A lot of the windows also have damaged screens. However, that is not what stands out the most and which could potentially cause some health issues to guests/us. There is quite a bit of water damage throughout the house, the “game room” being the most severe smelling like mold/mildew. So strong, that we didn't get to use this room one time during our stay. We noticed black mold/mildew throughout the floors in the home. (Bathroom, kitchen, dining room space.) The kitchen sink leaked as well as the sink in the master bedroom. The outside receptacles did not work outside, and a lot of the receptacles in the inside were loose. We really LOVED the location of the house and would consider staying at this location again if we were 110% certain these issues were resolved.

Dolphins Reach

The location, access to the beach and amenities would earn Dolphins Reach 5 stars. But the condition of some of the aging furniture, especially the dining room table and chairs diminishes its overall appeal. Its close proximity to the beach keeps us coming back. Both young and not-so-young will be returning same time next year!

Beautiful location, clean and comfortable

We enjoyed the well stocked kitchen, the beds slept great, and the pool with different levels of seating was great for all ages. We used the charcoal grill multiple times, and having 2 refrigerators was very convenient. Our only complaints were the dishwasher doesn't wash very well and the silverware basket needs to be replaced. Also, there is a sulfur smell to the water and ice, but we just bought ice down the road… so that wasn't a big problem. There was a leak in the pipes in the downstairs bedroom ceiling, and the maintenance people were very nice and prompt. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and hated to leave. Would definitely recommend and would stay again!

Dolphin's Reach was amazing. Being able to walk right outside the house to the beach was so convenient and seeing Hatteras Light in the evenings was special. The hot tub and game room were a plus. One of my favorite memories will be eating breakfast on the deck overlooking the ocean. Highly recommend this location.

Our stay at Dolphins Reach was fantastic!

The view of the beach can't be beat-morning sunrises are gorgeous. You can “roll” out of bed in the morning and be on the beach in seconds…(private path/ walkway to the beach)- This was such a bonus to me, as a photographer, for those early morning photos. Having coffee and breakfast on the deck, overlooking the ocean, was like no other place we've stayed on Hatteras- the view is truly incredible and sweepingly wide. We saw dolphins every single day, all day long, swimming back and forth, and were lucky enough to see them jump completely out of the water several times… it was like being at Sea World, but 100 times better! The hot tub is positioned well, and is perfect for seeing the hundreds upon hundreds of stars visible in the OBX sky at night. The house itself is roomy and set up well for group gatherings and for privacy. The kitchen is well stocked with NICE pots and pans… what a pleasure it was to cook!! Our 2 1/2 week stay went by in a flash- it was an absolute joy to stay at Dolphins Reach. We look forward to returning.

Wow. Exceeded expectations
