Indulge in a getaway at Otford Valley BnB in Otford, only 50minutes south of Sydney. A 5-minute drive to Helensburgh and the Royal National Park. Perfect for couples or singles on a 2-3 day retreat, with complimentary breakfast supplies provided.

Experience an inviting, cozy, and warm ambiance that instantly feels like home. Start your escape in a place that promises both tranquility and nearby adventures. Enjoy this private haven, unwind, or explore the nearby walking paths and visit local cafes and restaurants.

Otford Valley Bed & Breakfast is just minutes from many regional attractions, including the famous Bald Hill Stanwell Park lookout, where you can enjoy the stunning Northern Illawarra coastline, watch paragliders and hang gliders, and observe whale migrations at certain times of the year.

Close to many beautiful beaches and ocean rock pools such as Stanwell Park, Coalcliff, Wombarra, and Austinmer.

Otford is the gateway to the Royal National Park, where you can walk to the Figure 8 Pools or drive along the Grand Pacific Walk. Drive over the Sea Cliff Bridge and stop at one of the many oceanfront hotels or restaurants from Clifton to Thirroul.

Symbio Wildlife Park is also a short drive away.

The Grand Pacific Walk, a nearly 70 km coastal pathway from the Royal National Park to Lake Illawarra, follows the coastline with magnificent views of the beaches and the Pacific Ocean, making Otford Bed & Breakfast a perfect halfway point to rest in style.

Conveniently located within walking distance of Otford Railway Station.

We have a list of Uber drivers that may be available during your stay. Swimming, surfing, hang gliding, hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, paintball, and bushwalking are all accessible within a 5 km radius.

Local shopping is just a few minutes' drive away, with Coles at Helensburgh, a local butcher, bakery, and bottle shop, as well as a service station. Wollongong is a 20-minute drive via the M1.

There are excellent restaurants and cafes in Helensburgh and Stanwell Park for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with more details available in our welcome book at the cottage.

The bungalow features an ensuite, linen, ducted air conditioning, a 55” Smart TV with Netflix and Apple TV, a beautiful reclining leather lounge, a fully stocked kitchen, and filtered water.

Guest soap, shampoo, etc., can be found in the bathroom. Bed and bath linen are provided, along with wireless internet, games, and books.

We follow strict noise regulations and ask you to be respectful and considerate at all times. We want you to have the best time at the bungalow while respecting our lovely neighbors who generally prefer an early night and peace during the day.

We stayed for 3 nights and found the words 'luxurious hideaway' to be so true. There was everything we needed (plus more) in this home away from home. It is in such an ideal setting and hosts Jackie and Chris are both such warm and friendly people. We will definitely stay with you again. Thank you.

A few days in Otford

The Otford Valley B&B was the perfect location from which to explore the Coastal Path that runs through the Royal National Park; and then recuperate with a dip in the sea or one of the many ocean pools that dot the coast from Otford to Wollongong. This capacious and comfortable B&B was very generously provisioned; in addition to the food and drink, our hosts ensured the unit was well stocked with all manner of spices, oils and condiments self-catering might require. When we tired of our own cooking, the hotel at Clifton provided an excellent alternative.

Very supportive even though we couldn't stay

Thank you Jackie and Chris for your understanding when we couldn't stay with you after airports and airlines were impacted by the global computer outage on Friday 19th July'24. Excellent communications during the booking process and we appreciated your efforts to offer other dates for accommodation. Thank you for your generosity when you refunded our one night's accommodation fee. Hopefully, one day we can enjoy your hospitality! All the best.

Gateway to the Illawarra

There could be no better place to stay than this beautiful retreat at Otford. Jackie and Chris’ little cottage is nestled between rainforest, a stunning cottage garden and the pretty village of Otford. A perfect place for us to explore the rockpools of the South Coast. The cottage is so lovely with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. It is cleverly designed and feels very spacious with its wrap around verandahs where you can sit and admire the gardens and be serenaded by the birds. The cottage feels brand new and is in spotless condition. Jackie and Chris are generous hosts who treat you as friends. They kindly provided every kitchen supply you can imagine in addition to wine, chocolates, fruit, eggs, milk, sourdough and much, much more. They are invested in making their guests feel treasured and welcome and this flavoured our stay deliciously! I highly recommend this stay: we had a fantastic time and although we stayed nearly 2 weeks, we didn’t want to leave!

Das Haus ist wunderschön, sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und perfekt ausgestattet. Alles ist da, auch zum Kochen. Es gibt eine Grundausstattung an Kaffee, Tee, Öl, Essig, Butter, etwa 20 Gewürze, dazu Lebensmittel für mindestens das erste Frühstück, frische Eier, Obst, Brot, Milch...Jackie und Chris sind wunderbare Gastgeber! Jackie war sehr herzlich und offen und natürlich, so dass wir schon beim ersten Kontakt das Gefühl hatten, sie schon länger zu kennen. Wir haben bedauert, dass wir nur zwei Nächte gebucht hatten. Der Royal National Park ist ganz nah und wir wollten dort an den Strand, hätten aber gerne noch mehr Zeit in der Unterkunft verbracht.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay, the bungalow is set up perfectly for a relaxing stay with lots of thoughtful touches included. Friendly and responsive hosts who were more than willing to accommodate a very late arrival.

Together with my husband Chris, we welcome you to our B&B situated in Otford NSW.

We have been living in this magical neck of the woods for over 30 years, and we have made this place our home.

Chris recently retired from a successful career as the Director of an adventure sport company. I operate a small home based candle business.

Chris enjoys hang gliding and has many contacts should you wish to participate in a tandem flight. Now that we are both semi-retired, we decided to share our guest residence and whilst this is new to us, we have been hosts too many a friend, and believe we know how to make you feel welcome.

Chris & I enjoy bush walking, swimming at the local sea pools, riding our bikes, gardening and photography.

We look forward to meeting you, and are certain you will find the Bungalow very comfortable, with everything you need and maybe just that little more, you might have to keep coming back to share our beautiful home in Otford.

We have been living in Otford for 32 years, we found the area most peaceful especially from the hustle and bustle of the city. Chris recently retired from a very successful Hang Gliding business which he started early 1980’s, in that business Chris took 1000’s of people and showed them the amazing coastline of the Northern Illawarra. A view that we never tire of.

The tranquility of the area, is something we love to share with our guests.

The Bungalow was purpose-built with lots of love and attention to detail for my mother, whom I cared for during the last few years of her life.

Most of the furnishings, tastefully acquired by her, have remained in the bungalow. We receive many wonderful comments about the setup, noting that this is not just a small house but a real home that is warm, inviting, and comfortable.

Additionally, my mother was a keen gardener, and together we created a beautiful garden. You can sit on the verandah and enjoy total privacy while watching the beautiful birds that come to visit.
