Welcome to The Assateague Inn in the heart of Chincoteague! The Assateague Inn has been a fan-favorite for Chincoteague Lovers for years. Located less than 5 minutes from Assateague National Seashore, and allowing short stays all year long, it’s the perfect Vacation getaway for singles, couples, or small families.

Assateague Inn 100-2R is actually 2 awesome Assateague Inn Rooms with an adjoining door for privacy! Just perfect for a small family, 2 couples, or 2 singles traveling together, yet wanting their own space and privacy. Newly Renovated in 2023, it’s absolutely beautiful, has so many updates.

As you enter, you'll instantly feel in “vacation mode” - Crisp Whites and Nautical Blues are welcoming, and you’ll love the tasteful Nautical Decor throughout. Each Room is beautifully furnished and appointed, and each has its own Kitchenette equipped with all you need to make mealtime a bay breeze! It is also one of the few here at the Inn that actually has an Oven - and Assateague Inn 100-2R has TWO!

Each Room is also equipped with a comfy Queen Bed, Flat Screen Cable TV, its own Private Full Bath, and even a Vanity. Relax in the AC and enjoy Flat Screen Cable TV and Free WiFi after a fun-filled day on the Beach, or slip out to the refreshing Pool to cool off. Or slip out to catch some Crabs on the Dock!

The Inn is located directly on the Creek, and is a great spot for Crabbing, or simply taking in the Herons and Egrets fishing for their morning meals. Located just off of Maddox Boulevard, you're only a short bike or car ride from Mini Golf, Dining, and of course, Assateague National Seashore! When you're not enjoying playing on the waterfront, relax on the huge landscaped greens with plenty of Picnic Tables and Barbecue Stations to cook up the Fresh Catch of the Day.

Very pleased with the location and unit itself. Right next to the steps but luckily my son wasn’t bothered. I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely choose to stay again. My only complaint is with chincoteague as a whole - way too many flies and mosquitoes.

Assateague Inn

Great location overlooking a tidal waterway, alive with sea birds. Our unit was just the right size for a couple and well equipped. You are close enough to walk to shops and restaurants, but it's still quite peaceful for a central location.

Good stay

Stayed here for two nights. Good stay. Nice room setup, comfortable beds. Rooms could use a freshening up with new paint, etc. Would stay again.

The rooms were just as advertised. Worked out well for our family of four. Great location! The swimming pool was nice and clean. Overall great place to stay!

Nature's Pardise

Very clean, extremely quiet, well equipped with full oven, toaster, coffee maker, fridge and dishes. Beautiful marsh behind building with lots of bird activity. A little stinky, but a natural kind of sulphur smell. Restaurants, amenities, food trucks near by. We rented the unit that had a connecting door to an identical room and it worked out perfectly for my friend and I.

Disappointing Stay Despite High Hopes

We had high expectations for our stay at the Assateague Inn in Chincoteague, VA, but unfortunately, several issues left us disappointed.One of the main reasons we chose this property was the advertised pool — only to arrive and find it completely out of commission with no prior notice. This was a major letdown, especially since it played a big part in our decision to book.The remote for the TV was broken, rendering it unusable for the first day. While the issue was eventually resolved, it still impacted our experience. We reported it mainly to help future guests avoid the same issue.The most serious concern came when the air conditioning failed during an intense heat wave. Repairs didn’t happen until the next day despite our immediate call to the emergency number. The management’s dismissive response—that it had “JUST” happened 10 hours earlier—only added to our frustration, especially given the extreme heat.Even more troubling, a maintenance worker entered the unit without notice while our two children (ages 11 and 13) were alone and sleeping. No prior call, knock, or warning—just someone walking in unannounced. This was extremely upsetting and a clear breach of safety protocols.We understand that things go wrong, but the way those issues are handled matters. In this case, the lack of communication and concern left a bad impression. There were some positives to the stay, but unfortunately, the negatives outweighed them.
