Sunset Lodge is an incredible, secluded retreat on the West end of Lake Vermilion that offers all the feels of the northwoods with the comforts of home. Constructed in 2007, this 5700 square foot prestigious property was built to entertain. Features include: gourmet kitchen, granite counter tops, chef grade appliances, timber frame great room, grand fireplace, three master suites, jacuzzi tub, cinema room, laundry, deck with outdoor fire place, wooded fire pit, two private docks, private beach, swim platform with lily pad, beach toys, fish cleaning station, smart TVs, internet and air conditioning. Additionally, there is a 1,400 square foot walk out basement with a full second kitchen, bar and game room with ping-pong, pool, foosball and carpet ball.

With over 30 years in the resort industry on Lake Vermilion, we know what makes a great rental and can't wait to share this property with you!

We take privacy and serenity of our human and animal neighbors seriously. If your group cannot abide by a strict noise policy, this property is not for you.

Not Roughing It - Fantastic Place!!!

Secluded home on a fantastic body of water. I took customers on a fishing trip, and we could not have been happier. The accommodations at this place tops all the other places that we gone. Too many amenities to mention. We loved the open areas of the house, the large kitchen and eating area, the fire pit, the outdoor fireplace on the deck and the basement game room.

Lake Vermilion Luxury, nothing tops it!

We've spent a lot of time browsing Lake Vermilion vacation rentals, and there's just nothing that compares to Sunset Lodge in terms of luxury, spaciousness, privacy, and comfort. The rooms are huge, the kitchen is full of top-end features, and the lake view and frontage is stunning. Relaxing around the outdoor fireplace while grilling on the deck is the perfect vacation experience. Our large family had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy themselves, whether indoors or outdoors, and we all felt like royalty in this beautiful home. We will be back!

Our stay was the best we have ever had on Lake Vermilion in many years of vacationing there. Tom and Steph have thought of everything at Sunset Lodge for an amazing visit. Sweeping views of the lake...facing west for Sunset viewing! 6 Bedrooms and many baths made our family of 10 fully comfortable. Viking range and double Kitchen Aid fridge, and a great selection of cooking implements made it a joy to have a family feast. Two sets of laundry and multiple TV's....AND a fully equipped game room and big screen TV were ideal for the grandchildren on a rain day. Outside the dock has two fingers making boating a breeze and there is a beach with toys, kayaks, canoe and a permanent raft to swim to! Trash is picked up every other day....and the access to the resort gave our grandkids an amazing experience. We could go on and on but you will draw the same conclusions that it's amazing. Yes it is expensive...but in this case you definitely get what you pay for. Thanks Tom and Steph!

We absolutely loved our time at Sunset Lodge. There was so much there to do, both on and off the water. On rainy days we loved the outdoor fireplace and everything was comfortable and perfect in the house. Thanks a million, Tom!

This is the place to stay if you want to treat your family special.

This amazing piece of property was the perfect location for our summer family gathering. It is very well-suited for large groups. (Our party was 8 adults and 4 children) We especially enjoyed dining at the large family-style table. There were spaces to gather together and spaces to find a little alone time as well! The kitchen was very well appointed and the furniture was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed nibbling on a few wild blueberries and raspberries and listening to the loons. It was so peaceful and absolutely quite. The beds were amazingly comfortable! I could go on and on. We will definitely be back next year if finances allow.

Sunset Lodge: a luxury home on Lake Vermilion

We stayed at this beautiful and expansive home at Lake Vermilion with our friends. There were two families - ten of us altogether and the house was big enough to accommodate all of us. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook lots of meals with a massive refrigerator and second one downstairs. We loved gathering for meals at the huge dining room table indoors, having drinks on the patio outdoors and roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. The home is right on the lake with a dock that made accessing the water every day so simple. From the very start, Tom and Steph made it so easy to plan our vacation. We rented paddle boards, a lily pad and a boat from them and all were ready and waiting when we arrived. This was our first time at Lake Vermilion and this is great lake for families. We had children ranging from 3.5 to 15 and all had a blast. The location made it so easy to be on the water every day. We spent the day paddle boarding, tubing, water skiing and fishing on the boat. The kids loved the lily pad off the dock. In the evening, we would build a fire in the fire pit and roast marshmallows and make s'mores. We also really enjoyed all the games available to us. We spent a lot of time in the basement playing the piano, foosball, ping-pong and pool. The central space made it easy for us to all hang out and have fun all day and night. We highly recommend Sunset Lodge for your family vacation. We know you will love it as much as we did.

A beautiful property! Absolutely perfect.

As advertised, this is a total luxury home. In the basic construction, not a single detail was spared. The view is breathtaking, the rooms spacious, amenities luxurious. The master bedroom with its private walk-out deck has a spa quality bathroom. My favorite room--the kitchen is a chef's dream and a central gathering area. All the bells and whistles are included on this property, I cannot wait to stay there again! The owners are awesome; friendly, kind and easy to work with. This is a perfect spot for a family gathering.

Huge and beautiful lake home with tons to offer

When we first pulled up to Sunset Lodge we were taken aback by the immensity and beauty of the property. Once inside we were greeted by high ceilings and a kitchen with everything you could possibly need. The multiple ovens made it easy to cook big meals and the gas stove on the island made the kitchen a wonderful place to cook and hang out. After a big day we loved relaxing in the leather chairs around a roaring fire adjacent to the kitchen. The master bedroom is close to the action of the kitchen and living room but also far enough away that you can get some privacy. The views of Lake Vermilion throughout the entire house are truly breathtaking. The basement has a cozy movie room along with a wide open space with plenty of opportunities for vacationers to use. The basement bedroom was perfect with a walkout door for quick access to the lake. This house has everything you need to have the best week of your summer. We loved our time and Sunset Lodge and look forward to our next stay.

Beautiful Property, Fantastic Stay!

This place is fantastic! The views and privacy were definitely a highlight, 180* views of the sunset over beautiful Lake Vermillion. The kitchen/living room was a great area to hang out in, and it led right out to the wrap around deck. Indoor and outdoor fireplaces were really nice too. Home was very spacious and well appointed, with lots to do! Thanks for a great stay, and looking forward to another stay in the future! Highly recommend Sunset Lodge!

Tom and Steph live and work in the Lake Vermilion area. Tom grew up at White Eagle Resort just a couple miles from Sunset Lodge. Having grown up in the Resort industry he has developed a passion in providing incredible accommodations on one of Minnesota’s most beautiful lakes, Lake Vermilion.

Incredible views - the house was was designed to maximize the views to the lake and give you the true “Lake Home” feel.

Space - typical rentals maximize sleeping areas and fall short in providing adequate space in the common areas. At 5700 sq ft Sunset lodge not only provides amazing sleeping space but gives you some of the best entertainment space on the Lake for large groups.

A lot of bedrooms - 6 bedrooms. 3 of the bedrooms are master suites.

Private Lot - with just under 5 acres and 500ft of shoreline Sunset Lodge gives you plenty of space to unwind and relax without feeling like you have to worry about bothering the neighbors.

Service - with owners that live nearby you can be assured that if a problem arises we will right over.

Boat Rentals - Access to the best boat rentals on the lake with our partnership with White Eagle Resort.

Our family lives here for the majority of the year and one of our passion is in creating an awesome lakeside living experience. We are always looking to improve the property and are excited to share it all with you and your family.
