Welcome to our Duck Vacation beach house! We appreciate that more than 65% of our guests come back year after year. We want to make sure the house is updated and well maintained for each season. This is not just a rental property but our home that we enjoy in the off season.

We are located in the community of Colony By the Sea which is within walking distance of the charming village of Duck and a short (less than 8 minute) walk through the dunes (on a private road) to the beach. Colony By the Sea offers amenities including a large seaside pool, tennis courts, basketball court, and playground.

Here you'll find a well maintained, well equipped comfortable property that is ready for your beach vacation. 4 bedrooms (3 queen, 2 twin) and 2 baths are located on the first floor. Our home can sleep up to 8 . The great room, kitchen and dining room are located on the 2nd floor. The spa is located on a private deck on the ground floor along with an outdoor shower and recently remodeled laundry room. Wireless internet is provided. We utilize a linen and towel service.

Colony by the Sea is a wonderful family oriented beach community. We know you will be happy you’ve chosen "After Dune Delight” for your vacation!!

Lovely house and great location

We had a great time with our family on our first trip to the Outer Banks. The house worked perfectly for us! It is decorated very nicely and we especially enjoyed the hot tub. Nice easy walk to the beach and the town.

A wonderful time had by the whole family (2 adults, 2 children and a pup)! The house was as described with everything we needed for the week, clean, and conveniently located to the beach and town. We'll be back!

We had a wonderful time, although hurricane Erin visited a good bit of the week. I appreciated the homeowners checking in to see how we were doing. The house is spotless, easy walk to the beach and bonus to walk into Duck also for coffee, markets and shopping.

Great Location

We love being in Duck, the location of the house made it easy to walk to the shops and dining. The beach was also a short walk away. The house was well-appointed and comfortable with nice nautical themed decor.

The home is super clean and had everything we needed. The beach and town are in walking distance. We rented a golf cart though which made things a little easier. The pool and tennis courts were a plus. Home is beautifully decorated. It was perfect for our family of six.

Incredible Duck home away from home

We loved our stay. This home was incredibly clean and comfortable enough to feel like home away from home. With easy access to the beach and close proximity to the boardwalk, it made our first visit to the OBX easy. We would recommend this spot for families or a group of friends.

Great Holiday Week!

My friends and I stayed here for a week over the 4th of July and we had the best time. The location of this home is so ideal: we could walk to coffee, to the beach and restaurants. We cooked quite a bit and the kitchen had all of the cookware we needed and was very clean. Would definitely recommend this house!

Lovely vacation

2 families shared this space and had all the comforts of home. Well stocked with beach chairs, toys, towels etc. Love the proximity to shops and restaurants which were an easy walk away. Owner was responsive to any questions. Would definitely recommend!

Great location!

This home is very clean, easy walk to the beach and downtown Duck. We left the car at the house and walked everywhere. A bunch of places to eat nearby or just go to Wee Winks or another market and cook at home. Great experience! Our family of 5 will stay here again if we come back to the OBX.

We had a wonderful time in Duck. Brenda’s home was in the perfect location, clean, and accomodated all of our needs! Close to the village, boardwalk, and beach. The Sanctuary Vineyard trip out from Kitty Hawk Kites with Captain Brian was a great time as well!

Great place for our family of 6

Great location and house for our first visit to the Outer Banks. We loved that it was a short walk or easy drive to the beach and was also within easy walking distance to the sound side and many shops on the boardwalk. Hot tub was very nice to have. Beach toys and boogie board were great to have also. Very happy with our stay at the “Happy Place”!

Family vacation

Great location to walk to shops in Duck. House had all the extras we needed for time at the beach including use of beach towels and umbrellas. Also enjoyed extras like pickleball set and tennis supplies. Pet friendly and clean! We had a lovely week.

You have the benefits of having the house along with the benefits of being close by to the amenities of a resort. Great trip! In hindsight, I would have read the rules better (didn’t realize there was a lot I should have packed).

Lovely time in Duck

Great overall stay. Only complaint regarding cottage was the chains on the ceiling fans were to short for someone "vertically challenged "! Owner thought of everything to make for a fun stay for myself and my family. It was a great experience! Thank you!!

Clean, conveniently located, and comfortable

We have stayed in a number of beach houses and this was one of the cleaner and well cared for ones we have seen. You can tell the owners take a lot of pride in this rental. Also, the owner was very accommodating and flexible with us when we had a last minute change. Duck was a cute little town with lots of shops and restaurants. I highly recommend this rental to others in need of a relaxing but convenient get away.

After-Dune Delight

Couldn’t have been a more glorious week! The house and location was perfect. Now we see why over half of the renters are repeat customers. There is nothing we lacked and are grateful for the time we spent in Duck! Hope to return again soon.

I am an engineer who lives about 70 minutes away in Chesapeake Virginia. With our Beach House, I want to try and provide all of the 'little' items that make a vacation the best, like supplying sand chairs, umbrella's, and coolers, having a well appointed kitchen, hot tub, etc. The number of repeat guests to “After Dune Delight” has been awesome! I appreciate that our guests take care of the house as if it was their own. I am excited for our guests to have a terrific vacation!

We love the Outer Banks and Duck is the best location! It’s an easy walk to the charming Duck village with great shops and wonderful places to dine. If it's a movie or mini golf you want, it's just a short drive up the highway. Then head back home to the relaxing and quiet Sea Colony community with uncrowded and clean beaches.

After Dune Delight is located in one of Duck's more popular communities called "Colony By The Sea.” Private parking only at the beach with no public access to the beach. Your group can ride bikes, play tennis, and visit the basketball court and playground. There is even a community pool!
