Come in and visit paradise in our remodeled, air conditioned two bedroom, two bath second story condo located right on one of Maui's finest beaches. All thatā€™s missing is you and your swimsuit!

The master suite features a queen size bed with views of the ocean and Haleakala by day and the lights of Kihei across the bay by night. The en suite bathroom has a walk in shower.

The guest bedroom has twin beds, a second tv, and combination tub/shower.

The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans and all the amenities for cooking and baking in a convection oven should you decide you actually want to cook here in paradise!

Our beach - Sugar Beach - was voted #7 in all of Maui by Maui Best Guidebook for walking, swimming and boogie boarding!!

We are located at Makani A Kai, a wonderful family style complex of deluxe, townhouse condominiums, each unit is set back from the other for privacy on lushly landscaped grounds. Our Maui home has an ocean view, sleeps six and has all the amenities but you and your swimsuit! Whale watch right from your lounge chair in the Winter.

We are centrally located in Maalaea. Just fifteen minutes from the airport, ten minutes from Kihei and twenty minutes from Lahania. Take a walk on five miles of one of Maui's finest beaches, watch the sunset as you relax in the evening or for you early risers view the magnificent sunrise over Haleakala! We are a short walk to the Maui Ocean Center and Maalaea Harbor. Here you can find restaurants, shops and an assortment of ocean tours.

Perfect uncrowded location on the beach

The condo is well maintained with everything you need. A short walk to the Ocean Center Aquarium, shops, and some good restaurants. You can also walk directly onto the beach and slightly to the south where there's never more than a few people. And just a short drive to Kehei for more fun stuff. Overall a great location with no crowds, noise, or traffic!

We enjoyed our Maui trip and staying here was a big part of that. Nice location to access the island and within walking distance a nice beach as well as restaurants and excursions. Very nice beach for relaxing and snorkeling.

Enjoyed our stay and great location!

Our family enjoyed staying in this condo. It was clean and access to the beach is just yards away. Easy to get to different parts of the island from Maalaea and we were able to walk to the Maui Ocean Center (aquarium). The local property manager, Cindy, was very responsive and helpful.

The property was perfect! It was centrally located to on the island. The condo was cozy and quite. The pool was an added bonus for the times we weren't playing in the ocean. I will definitely be staying here again.

Awesome condo

This condo was the perfect location on Maui for a base from which to explore the island. It was within walking distance to Maalaea Harbor for all our boat excursions. Awesome sand beach right out front for afternoon relaxation and snorkeling. Kitchen was well stocked with anything we needed. Communication with owner and local property manager was top notch.

We had a good time in Maui. Beds were comfortable and the condo was clean. The park next to the condo was a bit noisy particularly on the weekend if you wanted to keep the balcony door open. The room with the 2 twin beds is a bit warm even with AC. Great location, easy access to all. Thank you

The perfect vaction

Lynn's condo worked very well for our family of 4 during our recent vacation to Maui. It was clean and just as depicted in the photos. We had everything that we needed for our stay and were quite comfortable. We like to explore, and the location was perfect for heading out to both sides of the island. We never had any trouble with the parking being full and the condo community was very calm and quiet. It was exactly what I had hoped for. Thanks again!

Great getaway

We had everything we needed. The unit is great and nicely decorated. The pool and BBQ area was super. The beach wasnā€™t great as it goes in too steep for toddlers and also there were many rocks and big waves. The central laundry room was very busy and the dryers didnā€™t work well. Very noisy in the mornings with people camping at the beach and lawn maintenance at 7 am.

Relaxing

The condo was perfect. The pool, grounds, and ocean access were also great. The only problem we had was the homeless camp and people living in it we had to deal with. Sometime screaming, cussing, arguing, loud music was disturbing to my 81 year old mother.. But if you can shu that out, it was great!!šŸ‘

40th Wedding Anniversary

It was perfect! This was our first time to Hawaii and it could not have been more perfect. We celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary while in Hawaii. We love the house and the location. The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. I would have preferred the washer and dryer be in the home but we made it work. Thank you Lynn for sharing your wonderful home. WE will be back!!!

Better than the photos

This is one of those rare properties that is much better than the photos in the listing. It is a 2 level loft style with the main bedroom and bathroom upstairs looking down on the rest of the condo. The bedroom with 2 beds is in the back of the main level. When you walk in, it feels like everything has been remodeled and freshly decorated. The flooring looks brand new. We had plenty of space to spread out and having 2 bathrooms is a luxury. My only quibble was that the upstairs shower has overly restricted water flow. The downstairs shower has a strong spray. The A/C worked fine for us when we needed it. This is the smallest and nicest of the condo complexes in Maalaea. It has direct access to a 2 mile long section of white sand beach that is protected from development. The beach park next door can occasionally be noisy, but during our stay in April the park was was not very busy. We already miss being there.

unit was perfect, and clean. well-stocked. lynn and linda were very nice to work through. however, condo manager got a little picky about parking. we parked well within lines, but a little crooked. they said there was a "complaint." and i also have a handicap placard, but was asked to move for the two wheelchair residents. that was understandable, but they could use another accessible spot for guests.

We stayed 8 days and I dont think you can be any closer to the beach. Its not the most popular beach but the locals love it. You can take a long walk along the beach and maybe see 5 people. One walk I stumbled across basking green seaturtle. Spent about half an hour with it all by myself. The kitchen was well stocked everything we needed. Loved the propane grills by the pool used em a bunch. No major supermarkets near the condo so plan ahead. It was in the fine print I missed it but the washer and dryer are not in the unit you have a coin laundromat about 4 bucks to wash and 4 more to dry. The home is clean and well taken care of. Couple minor gripes took awhile to cool the home but we got a temp we liked. But with wall unit ac its always too hot or too cold not much you can do about it. But it was fine. Bring a few more blankets. All together if we came back to Maui we would 100% stay here again. I was really pleasantly touched by the kindness of the property manager. We happen to be here during the first tsunami warning in 14 years and the airport and city shut down. The property manager reached out to us multiple times to make sure we were ok and even offered to let us stay longer in the condo and even offered her own home for the night. This was after we checked out so she was under no obligation to do that but she did it out of the kindness of her own heart. That by itself was enough for me to want to stay there again. Book the place it was it.

Clean and comfortable

I was originally a little apprehensive to book this unit since the last review was from 2023, but Iā€™m glad I did! Itā€™s exactly as described. Actually, I donā€™t think the pictures do it justice. It was probably the cleanest VRBO I have rented. The water pressure is adequate. The beds were a little firm but comfortable. The a/c did well at cooling off the living room. The twin room does get hot but with strategic fan placement, us Midwesterners didnā€™t melt. We had the loft fan running every night and it was quiet. We used a couple of the chairs, which were in good condition, and the soft sided medium sized cooler. We were on the beach or in the ocean right by the condo almost every day and it was great for wave jumping or just standing and taking it in. Sunrises did not disappoint. We liked that the location of this unit is in a sleepy area of the island, so itā€™s nice and quiet yet easy to get out and see the island. We did have to plan a little bit more for meals but again, itā€™s a quiet area! I didnā€™t hear any of the neighbors more than a handful of times during the day. Sure, the park was a little busy on Saturday/Sunday but it wasnā€™t annoying. Someone is camped out or maybe living in the park; however, they were nice and unobtrusive. We never felt unsafe. We had a wonderful time and I would stay here again.

Condo is okay

This property is in Maalaea, which is centrally located coming from the airport. There isn't much as far as restaurants in the area like there is in Kihei or Lahaina. It is near a beach that is okay and the lanai does face the ocean. The Maui Ocean Center is nearby and the harbor for departure of whale tours. The condo itself is okay. The carpet is old and very dated. Having the master bedroom on the second floor isn't great if you have trouble climbing stairs. The fan in the upstairs loft squeaks and is annoying if left on all night. When all the lights are out, the condo is very dark. We had to leave the light on the microwave on so we could see where we were going at night. Some night lights would have been nice. The fact it is air conditioned was welcomed. The upstairs queen bed was comfortable. Not sure about the other two twin beds. The separate laundry was not the best. You have to pay through an app and it charges fees to upload money to start the machines. The condo complex it is located in is small compared to others in the area. It is located next door to a public parking lot for the beach.

Comfortable condo; lovely spot

We were delighted with our visit. The condo was well-maintained and had everything we needed. The view is the bay, from either living room or lanai. The quiet beach is right there, ready for sunrise or sunset walks. Some hints: The whole unit is on the second floor, and one bedroom and bath inside are upstairs in a loft. Paying for the laundry room is through an app, not with coins. The neighborhood is central, with its own small shopping center and short drives to either Kihei or Lahaina for more restaurants. Locally, we particularly enjoyed Johnny Heist's Pizza. Beware: Some local businesses are no longer open, even among those in the condo information book.

My very own park just out my door! Beautiful location, centrally located with thoughtful extras like beach chairs and insulated bag for that Road to Hana picnic. Hosts was super helpful. Would definitely use again.

We really enjoyed this location. End of a quiet street. Had everything we needed. We never spent much time there, just long enough to sleep and shower. Host was very responsive and we had no issues.

We chose Makani A Kai because of its central location and the quality of our beach. Many condos claim they are beachfront but donā€™t actually have access to walk straight out onto one of Mauiā€™s finest beaches. We also enjoy the privacy of our beach. On a 'busy' day there might be 10 other swimmers or boogie boarders! It's quiet and secluded yet if you want to be part of the crowd, youā€™re only 10 to 20 minutes from anywhere you want to go!
