Paradise!

Absolutely lovely stay at La Sirena in Azul Cielo! The views from this condo are phenomenal, there are also 2 comfy futons on the patio that were perfect for afternoon naps while listening to the ocean. We have 0 complaints about our stay, housekeeping and drinking water delivery are huge perks to staying here as well as the on-site property manager for any issues that arise. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Beautiful apartment, great view. Comfortable beds and AC / WIfi worked beautifully. Only thing is baclony probably not suitable for toddlers because the spacing between railings was too big.

As for the railings on the balconies, yes, they are wide enough for a toddler to fit through it. Though if we we given some days of notice, we could put a temporary screen to prevent that. Either way, we'd love to have you back!

Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway

We loved the peaceful location of this complex, tucked near the end of the road. And the grounds and gardens were beautiful— full of tropical foliage and flowers. The swimming pool was lovely and clean, and we also appreciated the outdoor shower on the beach side of the building. The best part about the unit is the balcony! It was really nice to enjoy being there so much that we didn’t feel the need to ever leave, even though there were plenty of wonderful things within walking distance (shopping, restaurants, lagoon). The amenities provided, both in the unit and in the complex, were well thought out.

Awesome and Safe

Absolutely beautiful place in a very safe location. This by far exceeded our expectation. The daily maid service was fantastic and appreciated. The entire process from booking until we arrived was about as easy as it gets.

Beautiful!

Beautiful property - view is amazing. Beach out front is difficult with kids (very rocky and there are sea urchins), but the private beach in town is gorgeous and well worth the $5 admission. Pool is lovely after a long day of touring the area. Would highly recommend - can’t wait to go back!

Yes as Half Moon Bay is a living reef, there will be sea urchins that come out about 4 pm, but the snorkeling is fantastic with water shoes of course

Wonderful stay

Lovely condo that is accurately described in the listing. You can tell this is a second home for the owner with the nice amenities and extra supplies of spices and toiletries. Only complaints which was minor is the low water pressure in the shower but that's part of living near water.

Nice spot

Had a hard time finding it, but everything worked and it was well supplied. Nice view, but the surf was up and snorkeling in front wasn’t good.

Relaxing week on Half moon bay

The property is as described. The condo is spacious, charming, and has character. Loved the high ceilings and the views. We stayed here Christmas week 2019. there were very few people along the entire Half-moon bay. The condo and the area in general were very quiet - great for a laid back, relaxing vacation.

Joe, Thanks for your review. Yes Azul Ceilo is on the 3rd floor and like most complexes, we don't have elevators. But I'm glad you had a great time! Next time check out one of my ground floor units! I have 3 now!

Awesome Stay!

We were two couples that really enjoyed this very well equipped condo (no BBQ facility though) for two weeks. Location was great, nice and quiet about 2 km from the arch in Akumal. Beds and bedding was wonderful. Snorkelling out front was decent and there were turtles out there. If you don't rent a car there are few restaurants within walking distance (La Lunita was one of our favs). Yal-Ku lagoon was great and would recommend. Thank you Diana for offering your condo, we had a great time!

And thanks for coming. Regarding the BBQ, we've had issues in the past with BBQs on the 2nd and 3rd floors, esp. with the wind carrying the ashes! So from a safety perspective, we 've decided for now perhaps now.

Perfect Beach Vacation

This place was even better than we expected. As soon as we arrived, we felt like we had stepped into paradise! The location and view were just amazing. I loved being able to wake up and head right out to the balcony to enjoy my coffee while looking out over the ocean. My 7 yo daughter made great use of the pristine pool. The kitchen was well stocked. You can snorkel in the bay right out front, but it’s also walking distance to an awesome lagoon for snorkeling and several restaurants. I’m already dreaming of planning my next vacation here. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a serene, tropical vacation.

This is truly a lovely Mexican Carribe home. The sounds of the waves can be heard from the garden terrace and master bedroom. The front of the home is dominated by full unobstructed views of the water. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. The oceanside terrace is so private, and comfortabley furnished( complete with loved plants) that you don’t really want to leave.

Week in Paradise

We just returned from a wonderful week stay in Azul Cielo. Diana was a gracious host, quickly responding to any questions we had. The condo was clean and well equipped, with lovely views of the water. We spent many hours relaxing under the palapas and snorkeling right off the property in Half Moon Bay. The pool area is an added bonus, surrounded by beautiful landscaping. La Sirena is perfectly located on a quiet street, walking distance from several excellent restaurants, Akumal Beach and the amazing Yal Ku lagoon. The Tulum Mayan ruins are a quick 30 min drive from La Sirena. The entire week was filled with fun and relaxation - we can’t wait to return!

Aaron, Thanks so much for a great detailed review. We super appreciate it and especially your time for writing it. Next time you should consider going to another Maya ruin such as Coba, and also a cenote or 2. All really close and I have maps on my website that provide some direction. Super easy!

Fabulous relaxing time.

What a fabulous stay we had. We fell in love with La Sirena!The grounds are gorgeous, pool was a beautiful touch to use and do laps. The staff are top notch, friendly and always eager to assist. Rosa and Francesca especially stood out and made this a very memorable vacation/trip. Ceilo was a wonderful unit! The two decks gave us incredible space to relax outside, star gaze, enjoy coffee and yes to read. It is decorated as a combination of Mexico and New York, having every amenity that you could ask for. We felt like we were being pampered by the unit and the staff. The beach space was beautifully cared for, with direct access to the water, what more could you ask for. Maybe 4 wonderful restaurants all within a few minutes walk just adds to things.

Overall a Great Experience

3rd time staying on Half Moon Bay. I'd rate this location 4.5 stars if it would let me, but overall giving it a 4* due to just a few small things. Had a few housekeeping issues, and the property manager never really came to address, but Diana was 5* in working with us throughout. This unit on the 3rd floor has tremendous views - it is in good shape, and everything we needed was there. Beach and pool are both fantastic (beach is man-made mind you but that is clearly an advantage on HMB ). The property itself is clean & well maintained (the grounds). Anyway, we would recommend this unit and will be returning some day I'm sure.

We will be back!!!

I've been to this area 5 times in 2 years, and this was by far the nicest place we've stayed. I woke every morning and turned to look out the window at the waves. The beach is right there and we spent hours snorkeling. We didn't even need to bring our own equipment because Diana provided it, too. It was clean with a working kitchen, and we only had 1 difficulty that was resolved within 5 minutes of sending a message. (Coffee maker wasn't working and a new one was brought and set up before I even saw their reply.) There are adorable agouti, coati, geckos, and hermit crabs wandering in downtown Akumal where you'll find great restaurants and things to do. The pool looked very clean, though we always chose the bay. The pdf with info about the stay and nearby facilities was invaluable. We will definitely book a stay here again!

Tranquility and Relaxation at its best

This was our first stay at Azul Cielo and will not be our last. Let me start with the beach side balcony with two day beds and plenty of space to hang out all day. The view is fantastic and the sunsets you should not miss The condo is beautifully decorated and the owner has thought of everything that you will need for your stay plus extra. We have stayed in several places along Half Moon Bay and this has been the best. The garden and pool area deserve a big round of applause also as it was more like a serenity garden, Sitting beach side and then being able to go and sit garden side felt like big resort options but without the big resort busyness . We had one little issue during our stay and the response was extremely quick. Our reservation process was easy and before we arrived we were given instructions and maps that made the arrival and getting into the Condo a easy and comfortable experience. Diana was wonderful and Phyllis the owner made the place feel like home.

Relaxing Getaway

The Azul Cielo suite in the La Sirena condo complex is the perfect size for 3-4 people. The unit was clean, well-appointed, and what appliances we used were functioning. The view is spectacular from the south-facing deck which is mostly protected from the prevalent westerlies. Snorkeling and other water gear are provided, along with an exercise ball, a yoga mat, wireless speakers, and two TVs (one in the kitchen and one in the interior bedroom). The beds are hard but have foam toppers. We were there for 11 days but the sheets were not changed after a week per the instructions. The water pressure in the back bedroom shower was weak, so we only used the central shower. Otherwise, the suite met our needs.

Great vacation and condo!

This was our first time to Akumal and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Azul Cielo in the La Sirena Condominiums! The condo was beautiful inside and the perfect size for 2 couples. While the pictures listed on this site were stunning, being at the condo was even more impressive. The views of Half Moon Bay from the balcony and condo complex entry way were spectacular. The grounds were beautiful and the pool was great to relax in after snorkeling/swimming in the bay. Our days were spent swimming/snorkeling and stand up paddle boarding in Half Moon Bay and snorkeling in Yal Ku lagoon (just a 5 minute walk from the condo). We also spent some great times having superb food and drinks at La Buena Vida and La Lunita (both short walks from the condo). The staff at La Sirena were wonderful and Diana was also great! She sent us a lot of useful information about the area and made sure we had all the information we needed for a stress-free stay. If you're looking for a quiet and relaxation vacation in a beautiful condo and complex (that isn't crowded) - this is your place! We will definitely be back.

Perfect location in paradise!

Just returned from a wonderful stay at Azul Cielo in this gorgeous location. The condo was lovely, everything we needed for our stay and more, and Diana was incredibly helpful and informative - from assisting with transfers to a wealth of information about the area and suggestions of what to do. Was a great idea of hers to stop for groceries on the drive down to stock up for our stay as limited grocery shopping in Akumal - we went over to the pueblo to the farmers market and stocked up on fresh fruit and vegetables galore. We were there for ten days but only left Akumal once - spent most of our time at the reef right outside our front door. Great snorkeling and steps away from the condo which is on the third floor and has a fabulous view of the bay from a lovely balcony with lush greenery - enjoyed the peacefulness and quiet of our location. Plenty of bars/restaurants down the road in Akumal - it's a bit of a hike in the heat but we rented a golf cart to get around. Yal Ku lagoon was right on our doorstep and we spent a lovely day there snorkeling - be aware that no sunscreen is allowed so bring a rash guard - go early before the crowds arrive. We snorkeled in Akumal Bay (must have a guide but he was great) and saw the magnificent sea turtles - an awesome experience! An absolutely wonderful vacation in a great location - highly recommend!

Lovely condo with fabulous views

We're a family of four, now with two young adults, from Colorado and we typically take one or two beach vacations a year. We often stay at all inclusive resorts in Mexico and this was our first time using VRBO and a private condo. Previous to our stay I did lots of research and we couldn't have been happier with the condo itself and Half Moon Bay! The condo is very clean, the kitchen is well equipped (although I would recommend perhaps adding a microwave), all three air conditioners worked great and the beds were comfortable. There is even a large screen smart TV in one of the bedrooms but the best part were the comfy futon beds out on the large oceanfront balcony...perfect for afternoon naps. We did experience some problems with the hot water but they were tended to quickly after we reported the concern. My husband hurt his leg when we arrived at Cancun airport and he did struggle to get up to the condo on the stairs because he was on crutches. But the property manager, gardening staff and house keepers were particularly concerned about his well being, and moved swiftly around him. Outside the condo...we walked to Yalku lagoon which was great when the bay was a little rough. We took taxis two days to Akumal bay, which was about US $6 each way and was Us $5 per person to enter the beach. We took our own snorkeling masks and tubes and saw tons of fish, sting rays and some large turtles right in front of the two resort hotels...no need to hire a guide. Beyond that we mainly stayed at the beach in front of the condo and enjoyed several meals at La Buena Vida restaurant which is about a ten minute stroll from the condo. We found the water in the bay a little scary for us land locked people to be in for long, due to some sea urchins and tiny jellyfish, but we loved that we could sit on the sun loungers and see fish right from there. Overall we really enjoyed our trip and want to thank the owner for allowing us to share their home for a few days. We would definitely go back and would recommend it to families that enjoy the Mexican Riviera Maya and want a change from all inclusive resorts.

Azul Cielo

This condo is so spacious and gorgeous. We had the opportunity, the three of us, to stay there for 11 nights in early December. All of the windows and screen doors functioned well and when you open them there was a wonderful ocean breeze that would pass right through the entire place. It cooled everything off nicely and we only used the AC a couple of times at night, in one of the bedrooms, right before bed, to cool everything off for sleep. The AC did work though in every room. Everything was functioning quite well, and dependable! There were many products to choose from for styling your hair, shampoos, conditioners, body lotions, bug sprays and sunblock varieties. There was also a blow dryer and a flattening iron. If you forgot anything at all it's probably already there waiting for you. Bottled water was replaced regularly, you rarely even had to ask and if you did the response from the staff was always immediate. Francesca was very friendly and happy to help if you ran into any issues or needed any insight into getting around. Lots of spices were on hand and basics to help you cook any meal that you would like. Azul Cielo was beautifully decorated with old world Mexican charm. Historic black and white photos and wooden collectibles were found throughout. There was a lovely terrace overlooking the gardens and the pool off the second bedroom. We actually used that bedroom as the master bedroom, though it is not considered so. It had its own bathroom which was nice. It was also just more quiet for us when there were people getting up early in the morning. You couldn't hear any voices travel from the living room area or kitchen to that bedroom. There are many places to hang wet bathing suits and towels, plenty of hot water and tons of closet space. Toilet paper was provided and really I can't think of anything that was lacking! The ocean terrace was very spacious and comfortable. A lovely table for having drinks or meals and also two large comfy futons at both ends. Many vibrant healthy plants are on both large terraces. And now for the best part - the most fabulous ocean view possibly ever! The sound of the ocean was so soothing and the views of both the sunrise and the sunset were able to be seen from the ocean terrace. It was a very special time of year to visit. The snorkeling was amazing (though we encountered everything but turtles) and the condo itself is very quiet and we felt very safe. There's a police station right across the street with a very friendly police dog named Kilo and we always trusted the staff and the surrounding area. An absolutely gorgeous and private paradise. The residents and the visitors were all friendly and we would definitely come back and enjoy this gorgeous home! The ocean is very inviting and this condo sits up three pretty easy flights of stairs but it is worth every step for it's view and to hear the ocean breeze through the palm trees. Enjoy!
