Very nice condo at the Essex

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of four had a wonderful time staying in this condo on Marco. The unit was very clean and in great condition. All the units have a storage room in front of the assigned parking space where the beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. are kept. That's very useful rather than dragging all that sandy stuff up to the condo. The walk to the beach takes about ten minutes. Everything worked great in the condo. Harborview rentals is also easy to work with and very responsive. I highly recommend staying here.

Great little getaway!

We had a wonderful time overall here at the Essex. The apartment was well-furnished, though slightly outdated. The washing machine, unfortunately, stopped working during our time there, but Harborview was very accommodating and offered us access to an empty apartment to continue doing laundry for the rest of our stay. Harborview provided timely service both with the washing machine and at the beginning of our stay when we found out the condo was missing a beach cart, they brought us a new one within a few hours. We would have liked to see a gas grill somewhere on the property; there is only a charcoal grill which would not have been pleasant to use in the Marco Island heat. We also wish that there was a drying rack of sorts to place our towels and bathing suits instead of placing them all over the condo. We really enjoyed the fact that each condo has a little room by the assigned parking spot to house beach supplies, and the beach was a leisurely 5-10min walk from the building. We also appreciated that Harborview fully cleaned the condo prior to our arrival and provided us with a starter supply of most paper goods and cleaning agents/supplies, which was really helpful since we arrived too late the first evening to go shopping for these essentials. [My younger brother would have loved the condo even more if there was a waffle maker! :)] This is definitely a place we would like to return to in the future!

Great Condo in a great location!

Really enjoyed our stay at this condo. Location was perfect, about two blocks from beach access. Condo was clean and had everything we needed. There were a couple of small issues that need fixing…the shower faucet in the master bathroom was so loose I thought it was going to fall off during our stay. The freezer port of the fridge did not work well and the ice cream we bought turned to mush. We did love that there was laundry in the condo…a must for beach combing! Condo had beach chairs, umbrella and cooler to use which was really nice for long beach days.

Nicely furnished condo except for burnt microwave, old cookware and smelly furnace.

Inside seal of microwave has obviously been on fire and the seal was melted on the bottom causing a concave area, microwave should be removed and replaced, manufacturers say they should not be used when the seal is melted or show evidence of fire. Also the Teflon cookware is old and shows a lot of cuts into the Teflon and the handles are loose and floppy, they need to be replaced. Management said they would bring a countertop microwave for our use but it never appeared, a handyman told them that he thought the microwave was OK to use. I totally disagree. It got very cold and I turned on the furnace, immediately an awful smell circulated throughout the condo, it smelled like something dead was in the furnace. Management said that it was dust burning and all furnaces on Marco smell like that when they are turned on because they are rarely ever needed. I totally disagree with that also, we have been leasing condos for the past 13 years and never had a problem with a smelly furnace. It got very cold and clammy in the condo, so we put on several more layers of clothing. I turned the oven on and left the door open so we could have a little warmth, we had to do that for two evenings. On the plus side, the condo is lovely, very nicely furnished, it’s in a great place right across from the beach, we loved staying there (other than the three problems listed above). The building was quiet and beautifully kept. Wonderful location close to our favorite restaurants and shops.

There is a magic to this island that you just can’t get enough of so if you are lucky enough like our family you will return as often as possible. Never stayed at the Essex before but was very happy we did. South building is way too go as it is closer to pool and beach entrance. And don’t forget to enjoy all those beautiful sunsets.

The unit was nicely updated with nice comfortable furnishings. The only complaint we would have is that cleaners could have done a little better job before our arrival, a minor complaint that wouldn't stop us from staying at S-402 again. The rental agency did a top-notch job; we would rent through them again. Thanks for a great start to 2022!

It was in a perfect condition, ultra clean, directly across from the beach. Everyone we dealt with were super helpful, quite genuine and focused on our time in the Condo. The buildings, grounds and common areas were as clean as the unit itself. It is a superb value for the location and our comfort level in all aspects will lead to additional rentals here with this Management company. Just outstanding in all aspects!!
