Casa Matuta is an expansive, 4-story, luxury villa on the very top of the hill above Mismaloya Bay. This home lies in Lomas de Mismaloya, a secure gated community lined with cobblestone streets, lush jungle, and gorgeous villas. This home is fully staffed with a private chef and housekeeper, who know every inch of Mismaloya/Puerto Vallarta and will help you plan your dream vacation- Fishing excursions, massages, jungle adventures, breathtaking beaches and more.

Meals are served family-style, and a menu will be provided after booking, so you may pick which meals you would like and what you would like the chef to serve.

Views are breathtaking! The house is very spacious. Multiple levels allowed plenty of space for our group of 8 to spread out when needed. There are windows with great views everywhere (but make sure your group knows when you hop in the shower). Air conditioning worked very well in every room. Kitchen appliances are high end and even include a standalone ice maker! Host was easy to communicate with and prompt in responses/helping. Important to note that the house is not walkable and you need to make friends with taxi drivers. Also important to give yourself extra time to guarantee rides up & down the hill. WiFi wasn’t critical for us so it didn’t matter much, but it was very slow & didn’t work in all rooms. The infinity pool is beautiful but not suited for pool toys or floats. Hot tub was a great way to spend the evening. Plenty of pool towels provided. Only 4 lounge chairs but it wasn’t an issue for our group as there were always some enjoying the water. You may even get a visit on the pool ledge by some local wildlife.

Loved our time at casa Matuta

My husband and I had a great week. The view from the property is unbeatable. House needs a little TLC. Staff was great. Had massages, a couple of meals prepared and even a blowout without leaving the house. I would not recommend the property for young children but for adults it’s perfect. It is quite a walk up and down the street to get to the beach but the pool and the view make up for it. Plus being that close to the jungle was amazing.

Beautiful house with absolutely amazing views. Very clean. And plenty of space. 4 full large bathrooms with 3 extra partial bathrooms. Rooms were great. House staff (Rocio and Rosa are very friendly, can help with local questions where to get things or go, kept the house clean, great cooks, and massages were great as well. We highly recommned

Amazing House in Mismaloya

My family of five stayed 4 nights at Casa Matuta along with my sister and her family of 4. I would like to say we were highly impressed with our stay! The view this house had to the ocean was spectacular. We also had views to the jungle which was also amazing. The house was super clean, but keep in mind the house is up high and there were insects that would creep in (mostly small beetles) we didn’t mind them. We had Chef Rocio cook breakfast for us daily which helped a lot since the house is quite a distance from downtown (about 40mins). We would highly recommend staying at Casa Matuta, you won’t be disappointed! Hoping to come back again another time.

We paid to have the pool heated and had no regrets! The beds were all very comfortable and the towels were plentiful. We had one meal prepared by the chef and it was spectacular The Mismaloya Grill as well as the beach, Oxxo and zoo was a steep downhill but doable walk. Uphill walk only for the young and athletic. Had no trouble getting taxis or other transportation. A few glitches with no hot showers and wall oven not opening but had good communication with owners. The view is spectacular and we even saw a whale breach, as well as fireworks, frigate birds, pelicans and parakeet and los Arcos I would rent again, worth every penny❤️

Private, Comfortable, Easily Accessible

The rental process was seamless and communication with the property always included a quick response time. They provided any flexibility that was needed. The cooking and cleaning services were lovely. Rosa and Rocio were so kind. We utilized the massage services during our stay and that was outstanding as well. If needing to get down the hill to the beach, walking was an option or getting a cab was as easy as a quick phone call. The house is located in a gated community which offered an additional level of security to the property. The accommodations were incredibly comfortable and high end quality. The bedding and pillows were also extremely comfortable! Following our return home after our stay, we purchased the same pillows. The property is perfect for a group seeking to have a quiet stay with privacy and all the amenities on site with a close walk or ride to the beach or taxi/bus to town. The pool and deck had shade in the mornings with full sun late morning/early afternoon until sunset. When visiting PV with a group, Casa Matuta is the place to stay!

Whale of a time

Casa Matute is possibly the most beautiful villa I've ever stayed at. And possibly the most beautiful views you can find on the west coast of Mexico. Stunning views of ocean and forest, over the infinity pool. Each beautifully furnished room in the house had its own ocean view and beautifully Mexican tile flavored on suite bathroom. The kitchen has nothing but the best appliances, easy to work in. Only weakness in the kitchen would be the coffee machine. Staff were perfect. Only catch is the villa is perched high up a big hill, tradeoff being an undisturbed ocean view. Be prepared to hike up/down a pretty good hill. Or rent car, taxi etc.. Mismaloya is not a shopping town. So groceries are in PV, keep that in mind. Great stay, no complaints really.

Family holiday at Casa Matute

We were a group of 9 and spent a week at Casa Matute. The house is beautiful and very spacious, so we were never tripping over each other. The large kitchen is very well equipped with just about everything one needs. Bedrooms large and airy. The house was beautifully and tastefully decorated. Plenty of seating. We had the chef prepare our meal for the first night of arrival and breakfast the following morning and paid for groceries to be picked up before we arrived. The chef and a helper were very efficient and the meals delicious. Sauces made from scratch! However, be aware that guests pay for the food as well as paying per person for the preparation etc. We were told this was stated on the form, but we did not see it. We were also appreciative of the housekeeper and pool person coming 3 times during our stay, The infinity pool is fabulous and we all made good use of it. The views spectacular! My son in law used the BBQ but said it did not heat up very well. We walked down the cobble stone road a few times. It is very steep but doable, even for my husband and I, in our late 70s and 80s. And we climbed back up a couple of times. Taxis are readily available. We found the town of Mismaloya a bit disappointing- a few cobblestones but mostly dirt streets. A couple of reasonably good restaurants. Puerto Vallarta is easily accessible by taxi or bus and other places with beaches by taxi/bus and water taxi.
