Enjoy your best vacation at the beautiful ocean view Damn Yankee. The home offers a stunning, unobstructed view of the ocean. The home is near ocean boardwalk access and has two carports, an under-house entry, a fish table, and a nice outside shower. The first level has a storage area with a handy small freezer for your catch. Damn Yankee will win you over with a perfectly maintained, third-level great room with tall ceilings and a super vacation floor plan. All Tvs have access to the Spectrum streaming app with expanded permissions for sports , news and music channels . The owner's attention to detail has the all-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar and nearby dining area ready for all entertaining assignments. Damn Yankee is a near-perfect vacation pitch on Hatteras Island and is a NON-PET property.

This property features a covered porch and a luggage lift that goes to the top floor. It includes a well-equipped kitchen with modern appliances. Located on a quiet street just one block from the ocean. Restaurants, shopping, a fishing pier, and a grocery store are all within walking distance. The beach is just a three-minute walk away, and the property provides beach chairs, bikes, and water gear, including boogie boards. Additionally, there is a private electric vehicle charger available.

Damn Yankee was everything we wanted it to be - clean, comfortable & centrally located to restaurants, bars & groceries.

Awesome Vacay Spot

We absolutely loved the house with all it had to offer. From the spacious rooms, amazing ocean views, even from the hot tub, the quick access to stores and restaurants, to the well equipped kitchen.

This was the most lovely home we have ever stayed in for the past 30 years.

We loved the location, the wonderful ocean view, all of the small details in furnishing the home. Also the quick walk to the beach, and the comfortable beds. This house was a real gem and thank you for sharing it with us! We have already booked it for next year!

Spacious, close to beach, nice area to take a morning walk,nice outside seating. Could use some up dates, a new jacuzzi, and the tv in master suite needs to be fixed.

Great Vacation Getaway

My family spent a week at Damn Yankees during our kids' spring break. The location was great and the house was perfect for a family of 7. We were a little confused about the beach access, but it was very convenient about 4 houses down and right across the street. We hope to return in the future.

Awesome house

No complaints .. it's just as described (even better) the weather wasn't great so we spent alot of time at the house. Cooked alot the kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfortable and the house was very clean.

What a wonderful place! Even though you are across the street from the ocean the view from the upstairs deck makes you feel like you are on the beach. The added feature of the luggage lift helps with hauling of luggage, groceries, etc. up the 4 stairs. This place is clean and decorated well. I would highly recommend this property to any interested in a stay on the OBX.

May 2025 was our third time staying at Damn Yankee. That says a lot right there. A few of the reasons we enjoy this house is because of it's proximity to the beach, Food Lion, coffee shops, etc. This house also meets our needs very well, with some extras thrown in. There are bicycles, beach chairs, and more for use. I would definitely recommend this property.

Great week at Damn Yankee

Damn Yankee is a great house. It’s spacious, has a great deck to enjoy the view and a cocktail and the beach access is easily accessible. The kitchen has everything you need (except a really good knife, but I’m picky). We couldn’t figure out the TV, which isn’t a huge problem but would would have been nice on the rainy days. Overall a really great spot.

Worth the drive

The normal 6-7 hour drive took over 9, but it was worth it. The property location, house amenities and overall condition are excellent. We had one hiccup with the dishwasher, but the maintenance guy, Wayne, responded immediately and was superb. We will definitely look to rent Damn Yankee again in the future.

Great home in Avon!

We enjoyed our Avon vacation at Damn Yankee. The house was spacious, clean and comfortable for our family. The empty lot at the oceanfront allowed the perfect view of the ocean! The kitchen table, deck furniture, and outdoor lift were appreciated! We spent wonderful, long days at the ocean gathering with extended families staying nearby. We also enjoyed our first beach bonfire and the proximity to the Food Lion. You will not be disappointed!

Great for families

Property is well equipped with all amenities including beach chairs, etc., so you don't need to bring much other than beach clothes. The house is not directly on the beach, but because the lot between Damn Yankees and the beach has not been built on, the view of the ocean from the front east facing decks of the house is a close second. Vacasa property management made getting in and out easy. We've rented this house twice, and probably will again.

Relaxing week

The house was exactly what we’d hoped for- quiet, comfortable and near the beach. Beach access was steps away. We enjoyed the ocean view from inside and out. The hot tub was relaxing and the house was equipped with most everything we needed. There is also a mechanical cargo lift to carry up luggage, etc… so you don’t have to lug it up three flights of stairs (I just wish we’d have noticed it BEFORE we hauled everything up on our own!). We’d definitely recommend the house and will return again if we can.

Spacious rooms comfortable seating, tastefully seaside decorations. Well stocked kitchen with cookware. Panty was very helpful for our necessaries. Short walk to beach. Loved the outdoor shower. Very spacious third floor deck affording ocean views, Gas barbecue and lift! There were no Roku instructions for those of us new to it.

This ia a wonderful property wirh a great location in Avon. Public access to the beach practically across the street. Property was very clean and modern. Fantastic view of the ocean. My only complaint is there is not alot of countertop surfaces for food prep. Lots of very good restaurants within a mile of the house. I have already booked it for this October and May 2024, thats how much i think of this house.
