Royal Kahana #409 offers stunning ocean and sunset views and features comfortable high-end designer dƩcor. It is the perfect place to watch whales breach (during season) from your oceanfront living room or lanai. The islands of Lanai and Molokai are just across the water. The kitchen and bathroom are newly remodeled and modern. The bedroom features an ultra comfortable King size bed. There is also a new sleeper sofa bed. The kitchen is fully appointed and features top of the line appliances and a full set of dishes and cookware. Enjoy dining indoors at the dining area or outside on your private lanai. If you prefer cooking outdoors, Royal Kahana has oceanfront BBQ grills available to use. Both the living room and the bedroom are set up with flat screen TVs. Beach towels and a cooler are provided in the condo for your convenience.

The Royal Kahana Resort is situated on lush tropical grounds in beautiful Kahana. It is an ideal place for turtle sightings, whale watching (during the winter months) and simply relaxing. The resort features a swimming pool, shuffle board, a fitness center, an activities desk and much more!

Just north of Royal Kahana is the famous Kapalua Bay. Kapalua Bay is always voted as one of the top beaches in the world by Conde Nast Magazine. Honolua Bay is just a bit farther north and is a marine reserve that is a must see and snorkel destination!

*Please note: This is an ocean front resort on a volcanic island. Due to oceanic and environmental conditions, we can not predict the amount of beach front (or access to it) will be available at the time of your visit. Sometimes Royal Kahana has a beach, and sometimes it doesn't. Rest assured, there are exceptional beaches nearby (if not directly in front of the resort).

Just as described, and would stay here again if we ever make it back to beautiful Maui. My family and I loved it! It had everything we needed. Bed was very comfortable loved falling asleep every night listening to the sound of the ocean. Pull out couch was comfortable for my daughters. Kitchen had everything we needed as well. It was great we had a boogie board, beach chairs, & cooler to use!!! We even added to that, and left our beach toys behind for someone else to enjoy. Location was great to get to all the beaches on the west side. Bonus of our stay we were able to whale watch right from our room!!! Mahalo for making our stay great

Great Spot!

My friends and I enjoyed our week-long stay at the condo. It's in a fantastic location that is easily accessible to the rest of West Maui & Maui in general. Right near the beach and has all the amenities you'd need for a vacation.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Royal Kahana 409 Was a Royal experience to say the least! To start, the property management company made it all so easy and quick. Check in instructions were thorough and its nice to have all the info you need in one email. The span of views from the unit were second to none and we watched huge groups of turtles come up on the beach daily. We were a little early for whale season but they started pouring in near the end of our stay. The kitchen, Bathroom, all of it were not your typical resort amenities, they rivaled most high end homes. We will be staying here again, maybe for years to come. A blessed experience!!!!

Home away from home

We had a wonderful 7 days! We loved the layout of the condo. It was bright, open and airy, with beautiful views of the ocean from the living room and the bedroom! Each room was a nice size. Lots of closet space in the bedroom. Washer and dryer was greatly appreciated, as was the beach chairs and cooler! The extra fans worked wonderfully along with the air conditioner. The building itself was easy to get through via elevators. The pool was a wonderful place to relax, and had a great view to the beach. If you got tired of the pool area, you can just walk a few feet to the beach. All in all, a wonderful place to be, It was great! We will definitely be back!

I wish I could write a good review

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We checked in at about 10pm on Sunday and the room temp was in the mid-70's even though the thermostat was set for 66 degrees. Contacted Epic Realty the next day and someone came out the day after but was unable to fix the problem. It wasn't fixed for another 6 days during which time the temp never went below 74 and ranged as high as 81 degrees for.Contacted Epic numerous times and they indicated that the Royal Kahana staff would have to fix the problem as it was with their ā€˜chillerā€™ system and indicated that I wasnā€™t the only one experiencing the problem.Finally, more than a week after checking in, the system started blowing cool air. However, it never got below 71 degrees for the remainder of our stay.When I asked if Epic could re-imburse us for some or all of those days I was told unequivocally that there would be no refunds and we would not be moved to another condo.In addition to the air conditioning problem, one of the windows was broken and wouldnā€™t open, and the screen door to the lanai was crooked and not close properly.Overall, the condo was clean however the windows were filthy, and the sliding glass door was hazy. I was able to clean the sliding glass door but couldnā€™t do anything about the windows.The location of the condo was great, and we actually saw sea turtles laying eggs on the beach outside the condo. When the weather permitted, we had great views of the whales and sunsets.While the staff at Epic tried to be helpful, they couldnā€™t fix the air conditioning problem and took a hands-off approach to getting the Royal Kahana to fix it until many people reported the problem. They did forward my request for re-imbursement to their leadership who promptly rejected it. The leadership never reached out to me preferring to make their staff do that. Clearly, they prefer profits over customer satisfaction.

Nice older condo with great ocean views. Condo was right on the water, clean and had decent finishes. The unit washer & dryer was nice. Pool was nice but the complex didnā€™t turn the heater on until the last day of our stay. The one issue with the unit itself was that it was really windy for parts of our stay and the wind whipped through the vented windows next to the entry door creating a loud whistling next to entry door. I called management about the issue but they never responded. Some of the neighbors who live there stayed itā€™s because the windows are old. It was an issue for me as the whistling made it hard to hear when I was on my phone taking work calls.

Even better than the listing!

We loved this property. It was in an area that wasnā€™t quite as busy so it made getting in and out super slick! Checkin in was super quick and easy! That view when you first walk in to the rentalā€¦Wow!!!! The ocean and the whales šŸļøšŸ‹ were my favorite part! We watched whales right from the lanai. The room was nicely remodeled. The bed was comfortable. They left a cooler, beach chairs, snorkeling equip, and boogie board so that was awesome and used. I canā€™t really speak much to the property outside of the room as we were out exploring while we were there instead of hanging out in one place. We did use the pool once and it was good. I saw several people people using the grills. I already referred a friend to use this place. We loved our time!

Great location. Clean. The property manager was quick and responsive when we needed an extra blanket and towels. Would stay there again. The condo had a cooler, boogie board, extra snorkels, masks and fins which was great.

Pictures are accurate. Toilet paper is worst grade and they only offered 2 day supply. There was no tissue. Other supplies were adequate. Plenty of closet and drawer space. Unit is on northwest side of building so sunset is viewable only from lanai in October. The neighbor directly below on 3rd floor is hostile.

The Good: Condo is well appointed, perfect location, beautiful views, nicely decorated, clean, updated to meet all of your needs, lots of extras! The Bad: The only BIG downfall was the AC issue. We noticed on our first day that the condo was a little warm, but, we just assumed that the cleaning crew was in there and would take a little time to cool down. That night and ALL nights of our 8 day stay, and also during some of the days, the resort turned off the air conditioner between 1-5 am; while everyone was sleeping; the unit would get up to78- 79 degrees.. Not very comfortable with humidity. Needless to say, we never slept well any night. We even tried to open all of the windows/sliding door. Not comfortable, the hottest month of the season. The real estate management company claims that they were unaware of the issue; they were aware of an issue a year prior, but said that it had resolved. On the third day, the real estate management company spoke with the building manager, where they advised what we said was correct. We personally spoke with the building manager too. Basically, the building has had an issue with the AC unit for the building ever since put in the new one( for the last year). And, due to limitations with their current system set up, their work around starting in July, has been to turn off the AC every night. The Building manager did state that a notification was sent out to the unit owners. However, the rental management, stated that they were not made aware of the outstanding issue. Although the rental company was responsive, and did come by to provide an extra fan, it did not resolve the issue. What could we really do? Had we known of the issue, we would not have booked our stay for that unit or for that building. Due to the circumstance, we asked the rental company if there was a way they would make good regarding the rental fee. We did not ask for a full refund, but, felt it was pretty unfair not to give us some part back. If it was my business, I would not think twice. Our response was I am sorry, but, unforeseen issues are a possibility, we do our best to help remedy any issues. Pretty disappointing response in our opinion. We are positive that the rental management company is aware of the issue. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that that you confirm with them and the building, that the issue has been completely resolved. We are hoping that our experience will help someone else out. Hopefully it is fixed.
