Capercallie Cottage is a great way to experience the uniqueness of the central coast. This newly updated 2 bedroom 2 bath house is surrounded by a beautiful Monterrey pine forest, with a peak of the ocean to the south west from the living room deck. Come and relax in beautiful Cambria California! Steep driveway for parking.

A short walk to Fiscalini East/West Ranch Preserve and the Lampton Park tide pools, some of the best in our area.

When you're ready to venture out and explore the beautiful Central Coast you will have many options close by. Hearst Castle and Hearst Winery, perched above the San Simeon Cove, are a short drive up the coast, and the famed Paso Robles wine country is a quick drive east. Charming San Luis Obispo is a 45-minute drive south and the Big Sur Coast is at your doorstep heading north. Cambria is the perfect starting off point for countless adventures.

Relaxing in Cambria

We had a great time! The house was super clean and it was a very quiet neighborhood. Nice view of the ocean. We saw lots of deer everyday. We will definitely come to this house again.

Labor Day getaway

My family and I had a wonderful stay here! The house is beautiful and comfortable. The only issue we had was with. a rude neighbor but that had nothing to do with the house. We would definitely stay here again!

Cambria-a lovely place

Tranquil vista from the deck. Very quiet at night. Walking distance to breathtaking views of the ocean. The Fiscalini Ranch Preserve is a 20 minute walk and a wonderful place to walk/run. We had a very restful time and decompressed. Will return again.

Lovely home

We were very comfortable in this home. My only suggestion is for the owner to install a window shade or curtain on the window on the door in the ground floor bedroom.

Fire Evacuation

Property was great. Would make a great vacation stay, we unfortunately rented it at the last minute because we needed to evacuate from the SCU Lightning Complex fire. We rented for the internet, to do remote work. It was spotty. Suggest the owners look at getting a new WIFI router.

Great Vacation Rental

Comfortable, clean and convenient location to the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve with excellent hiking trails, short drive to Moonstone Beach, Hearst Castle and the Elephant Seal Sanctuary and only a couple miles to the center of town in Cambria. The appliances worked great and we had everything we needed to cook our meals, do our laundry and could even watch the local news in the morning if we woke up in time. We enjoyed the views of the ocean from the deck and watching the deer graze on the back lawn. The bed was comfortable, and we had lots of closet and bureau space to store our clothing. We would definitely rent again from Breen Vacation Station in the future. Valerie & Michael

Nice Place for A Family in Cambria

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was comfortable and spacious in a very quiet neighborhood, with plenty of deer as an extra attraction. The use of the garage was nice. Unfortunately, the washer was unavailable for use. Also unfortunate was the uncooperative weather, which limited the view of the sea from the house. Cambria is a nice town to visit, not far for those interested in seeing Hearst Castle. Property staff were very friendly and made checking in very easy.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My neice and I had a lovely stay at Capercallie Cottage. The property was as described, clean, quiet and well maintained. The neighborhood is beautiful. The beds were excellent. The view from the upstairs deck, which is accesible from the living area or the upstairs bedroom, is amazing and we enjoyed being there. The downstairs bedroom has a deck too. The area is pretty hilly and the driveway is indeed steep. I checked with the management company and they said it was okay to park in the street (which few people do in that area). This worked well. We were a quick drive to all the delights of Cambria. The management company was excellent and helpful. I recommend this cottage and would stay again.

The home is a little dated but the mattresses and linens are fine. Wear shoes on the deck because it is older and in need of replacing. Since the bedrooms are on different floors, this home would not be good for a family with young children. It would be perfect for two couples or for older children that want privacy. The kitchen and supplies are adequate.The rental agency personnel were friendly and professional.

A Walkers Paradise and Safe, Quiet Home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We left our home for daughter and family to quarantine after driving back from Florida where they lived the past 9 months. Two weeks at the beach, nothing to do but what hubby and I wanted, and we could walk anytime of day and not deal with the heat. This home is a great location for walking along the coast - 2 local preserves, roads with interesting homes, plus multiple other locations north near the elephant seals and south overlooking Cayucos Bay and further south to Montana de Oro.Although it was only 2 of us, the house is a perfect setup for 4. The house had everything we wanted/needed, an easy partial view of the ocean, nice neighbors, and great beds. What more could we want?We have been uber careful during this world pandemic but felt safe and comfortable in our home for 2 weeks. We did experience the smoke of fires from far north but that was true throughout California.
