Delightful Gem on Park Hill

Gem on Park Hill - a bungalow sleeping 6 with 2 bathrooms. five minute walk to the beach. Discover the natural beauty of the California Central Coast in one of the few original Cambrian homes. This a quaint home + studio bungalow. Home with a cozy living room with fireplace, and a light and airy sunroom, is within walking distance of Moonstone Beach, Shamel park and the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve. Go sea glass hunting on the beach or take walks along the rocky cliffs and watch the sea otters cracking shells. Third bedroom and 2nd bathroom are separate from main house. This old Cambrian home was bought during the early fifties by a teacher who moved to Cambria to raise her two kids. It is now owned in third generation and lovingly furnished with some of the pieces inherited by the family. With close proximity to town, this single level, pet friendly home is a perfect little slice of the Cambrian life….Walk to town for your morning coffee and a newspaper. Mention that the bungalow includes 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, while the adjacent studio has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and two sleeper sofas (no bed) and that there is no wifi in the studio. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay in the small cottage and guest loft on Bristol street. The house has some wear and tear to it. Some of the doors in the main house wouldn't shut all the way. The loft is newer and in good condition. I will say, however, that the sofa bed is rather hard, but ok if you're used to a very firm surface. Overall, the house had everything we needed and it was very cute with its rustic and cozy decorations. The location is perfect in the neighborhood as it was about a 5 minute walk (or less) to the beach park. The loft also has a wonderful view of the ocean.

Wonderful place, amazing company to work with

We had rented another VBRO and found out the day before the owner had discontinued it. VBRO was not very helpful but we called Kimberly at Scenic Coast Property Mgmt and she pulled out a miracle. She even had the house ready a day early. LOVED the house, super cute and a short walk to the beach. We stayed with our dog and it was just perfect. Appreciated the spices in the cupboard and the variety of kitchen tools as we cooked a number of meals. Bed was super comfortable. Washer and Dryer worked great. Overall a wonderful six days in a beautiful part of the world.

Family Time in Cambria

This house was perfect for a getaway with the in-laws. We loved the cozy home and the location was perfect. We had an amazing time and the beds were comfy. Would definitely stay again.

Relaxation!!

Another great visit to Cambria! We’ve stayed in this house twice now and it is perfect for our needs. Great location, close to the beach and lots of places to walk to. Hoping to visit again soon!!!

Nice and Cozy but...

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A very nice home in a great location...can hear waves crashing at night! If you are bringing a pet, just be aware there is no direct access to the very small fenced front yard. We happened to be there on the 3 hottest days of the year and with no A/C it was to say the least "toasty". FYI, we bought a fan which hopefully is still there. The Wi-Fi never worked but that may have been a system wide problem...maybe. The living room couch and chair are at best uncomfortable. The home is well stocked, the management company is very responsive, and the house is very cozy. It does not have a "Welcome Book" so you will have to figure out restaurants, local sites, how to work the TV, the fireplace, etc. all on your own. When you arrive, you will see a garage and second floor unit at the end of the driveway. Unless told otherwise, which we weren't, the driveway is all yours and you will have keys to get into the garage where the washer/dryer and BBQ grill are located. We are telling you all of this not to complain, but to make sure you are aware what to expect.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location is great as you can walk down the street and enjoy the beach.It is an older house, but pleasantly decorated. It had what we needed except for a few things.The patio has a table with benches but not useable as no outdoor umbrella was provided, but the umbrella stand was there. The sunroom is great for cool days but too hot if the sun shines, so the umbrella would be an affordable addition to improve customer experience. The owner accepts dogs. A dog bed would have been great. There are no washer/dryer in the house for longer stays.

Love Cambria!

Our stay in Cambria was really wonderful. Cute house with lots of small separate sitting areas. Very close proximity to the beach and hiking.

What a cute place

This is a very cute property. It was very clean and just a couple blocks from park and beach. However, if you are looking at the pics and it looks as if the backyard is fenced in, it is not. There is a fence at the back of the property but it belongs to the adjoining property and does not enclose area. Cute area in the front to sit out. Driveway very steep, but packable. There is a garage, but it is not for this unit. Must be for the unit on top of the garage. Very quiet neighborhood.

Would not go back

No hot water first day Not dog friendly .broken fences Fridge did not work had to throw food out. Patio door did not lock. Sunroom leaked when rained Fireplace did not have medium control. Good lo stion close to park and ocean Owner just needs to update and maintain properly.

Best place we’ve stayed in Cambria

We had 3 tiny pupps and 2 kids, so finding a place within walking distance to the beach, that Fit us all, and was affordable, was hard to find. This was basically our only option but it turned out so great. They have a little sunroom and it was amazing drinking coffee in there. The check in process is annoying, as I drove to the property only to realize you had to drive back into town to get the keys.

The walk on Fiscalini Reserve boardwalk was memorable and beautiful. I will return.

The floors creaked a bit but the place had a lot of charm. My only real complaint would be the drunken people yelling in the late night/early morning hours. But the location was great and convenient.

Not happy

Properly was old and dated. Many maintenance issues uneven waking sefaces,rubble laying about. No sink stopper in restroom. Yard has dying plants and dead unkept areas. No air conditioner and pealing paint inside and out. Bathroom has visible mold.

Comfy Cozy

We truly enjoyed this comfortable property of a two bedroom, one bath cottage. It is perfect for a couple, as the square footage is on the small size. We especially enjoyed the fireplace, and many channels to choose from on the T.V. - kitchen is fully equipped, but needs one full cupboard for the storage of food which we brought in from the outside. We spent a delightful two weeks here, and we hope to be coming back again next year. Property owner needs to repair/replace front patio. Also, a railing should be installed for the steep four steps leading from the driveway to the patio area.

A Lovely Place

A short walk to the beach was nice, and we visited during the harvest festival which was very fun to see all the scarecrows in town. The town is so close and cute, it made it a very fun stay.
