That said, your comments about the pull-out sofa mattress, outdated appliances, and overall cleanliness are concerning and unacceptable. Guests deserve a clean, well-maintained, and comfortable environment—especially when traveling with family—and we apologize that you did not receive that experience. The condition of the pull-out mattress, in particular, should never prevent a guest from getting a good night’s sleep, and the state of the kitchen and shared bathroom layout certainly warrant attention. Your feedback has been shared with our property management and housekeeping teams, as well as the unit owner, for immediate evaluation and necessary updates. We also agree that pricing should align with the quality of the unit, and we’ll be taking a close look at both the condition and the value being offered to ensure future guests are receiving the experience they expect and deserve. Kelli, We are glad that you chose to stay with us and that the unit was clean. I am sorry the beds seemed to hard for you. It is definitely a struggle to find a firmness that pleases everyone. As far as the after hour arrival process while I understand your concern we have never had any issues with the sealed envelopes in the locked interior box. Your description of the furnishings, including the futon in place of a proper couch and mismatched patio furniture, has also been noted and will be addressed with the property owner to ensure future guests receive accommodations consistent with the listing. We also regret the lack of a lake view as advertised, which understandably added to your frustration. It’s imperative that our property descriptions accurately represent what guests can expect. We’ll revisit the listing to ensure it reflects the current layout and view of the unit honestly and clearly. As for your interaction with our team, we are truly sorry that you did not feel supported when you reached out for help. Guest service and responsiveness are priorities for us, and your experience will be shared with our staff to reinforce the importance of professionalism and empathy in every interaction—especially during peak times. Hi Connie, We are sorry that you were dissatisfied with the unit, unfortunately those stains have been treated multiple times and we are hoping the owner will be changing it this winter. We do have city water which sometimes leaves a calcium residue, we will certainly keep an eye out for that in the future. Doug, thank you for giving us a review. I am sorry to hear that you were affected by the construction. It was a project that was initiated by the city of Charlevoix and to my knowledge was not supposed to include that parking spot. Only one of our two entrances was to be blocked for the maintenance.
