OCEAN SIDE Cozy beach cottage getaway at Pelican Pines

With approximately a 5 minute walk to the beach, and centrally located between Nags head and Hatteras, our OCEAN SIDE home offers 3 bedrooms and a bonus room for extra lounge area or playroom for the kids. The home has a 1200 sq. ft. wrap around deck for outdoor dining, relaxing or entertaining and is located across Highway 12 from REAL Watersports and RADIKAL Kiteboarding. The area features kiteboarding lessons, great fishing, shops and dining. Recent updates include new stove, new carpeting, new HVAC, new roof, all new pots/pans, dishes, glassware, flatware. Amenities include: WIFI, beach chairs, gas grill, washer/dryer and roomy outdoor shower.

🛏 Sheets and towels are not provided. Rentals are available locally if you do not wish to bring your own.

⚠️WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE which can be purchased through VRBO or other vendors. Hatteras Island is vulnerable to storms and electrical outages. ⚡️Mandatory evacuations occur! Refunds will not be issued for weather, road closures or mandatory evacuations.

Very nice little place!

We enjoyed our last minute getaway here! The house was a nice short walk to both the beach, and a great restaurant for a sunset beer.

Great Location

The cottage had everything you could possibly need, location was perfect, close to fresh seafood stores. We had the entire beach to ourselves.

Perfect little get away

Cozy and inviting. Very easy beach access, outdoor shower and laundry right when you enter through the back door was perfect. Super larger wraparound deck made the space

Convenient and clean!

This rental is exceptionally clean and very convenient. It’s located on a wonderful, family-oriented cul-de-sac. An easy walk to the beach!

Favorite place in NC not called home

Second time staying here and it won't be our last! The house is perfect. Close to great places to eat and just 10 minute drive to a beach where you won't see another person all day. The outdoor shower is always a hit.

This was an awsome vacation! The property is great and clean. Checking in was so simple. Located a few minutes walk or drive from beaches on the ocean or sound side. Highly recommend.

Clean and compact

This house is a great location for access to the beach - just a short hike over the dunes and you're there! Not crowded either! The living room is large and the furniture very comfortable. My husband loved the power recliner! The beds were comfy too and lots of pillows.

Wonderful place for some R&R

Quiet neighborhood and exactly what we needed for a long weekend away. Home was clean and it was really nice to have beach chairs and umbrella available so that we didn’t have to bring those. We were not able to access the beach from the home’s pathway - it was flooded and impassable after a couple days of rain. We drove about 6 min up the road to the Rodanthe public access site. It wasn’t crowded and parking was easy.

Enjoyed our stay

We had a great stay here. House was exactly as described, had all we needed for the week. Location was great, just a short walk to the beach. Also very close to Real Watersports, which is nice. Owners communicated well with us ahead of time and the house was easy to get in to when we arrived. As with may properties there, linens aren't provided, but this was clearly stated in the description.

Wonderful Beach Retreat

Just a short, 5 minute walk through a wooded area and over a dune from the beach, Pelican Pines is an amazing hidden gem. The house was clean and cozy, and we grilled out on the wrap-around deck most evenings. It is close to shopping and some restaurants, but we came for the beautiful beaches and definitely weren’t disappointed. The homeowners were responsive when we needed them, but that wasn’t very often because the house was perfect!

Great Little Spot

House was very clean and had all the amenities advertised. Location was great, actually closer to Avon and Hatteras than I had originally thought. Plenty of services near by. It is a great place to stay.

Wonderful home and location

Perfect little spot with a little walk close to the beach. My kids loved it. The area is a lot less crowded compared to northern beaches. We even took time to drive to different beach accesses to see more beach. Home was clean and ready to go early for us. Made our vacation amazing. Thanks again!!!

Pelican Pines

The house was clean and well stocked. No dishwasher which I missed in the description but not the end of the world. The deck was awesome and we enjoyed sitting out there. The beach was close but the access was a walk on a path that was pretty muddy after heavy rains. We used the public beach access a couple of days. Owner was easy to contact and very responsive. I would stay again!

Nice spot in a quiet neighborhood

This is a nice spot in a quiet neighborhood. We stayed here primarily if not exclusively based on the location. If we were to go back to this same area to vacation again I would not hesitate to stay here again. The property was clean. The owner communicated well and frequently and responded promptly to questions. It was easy to gain access to the property. We enjoyed the large wrap around porch and sat out there in the morning in the sun with coffee and again at night playing games and/or just listening to music and having a nightcap.

Great stay in Waves

This is a cozy bungalow close to the beach. Rooms were spacious and clean. We rented sheets and towels which was perfect. Beds were comfortable and kitchen and bathrooms were clean. Best of all was the host! She was quick to respond and fix issues! Would give more stars to her if could!

Great beach house!

We had a great time staying at this beach house. Great location right across from Waterman’s Grill/Real Watersports. Beach is a short walk away. House had everything we needed. No complaints.

Perfect beach getaway

Lisa’s place was fabulous! Super close to the beach (5 min walk), and within walking/biking distance to water sports (kayaking, jet skiing, SUP, etc). We especially loved the outdoor shower after long beach days. Kitchen was well stocked with cookware, and the wifi was fast! We would definitely rent again!

LOVED!

We loved our stay at Pelican Pines! It was a wonderful home away from home. You could tell right away the home was cleaned thoroughly. The location is a great starting point to explore up and down the outer banks. The street is quiet and the beach was easily accessible. This made for a fantastic first VRBO experience.

Waves, NC has something for everyone's taste but we especially like the quiet getaway area where you can beach it, surf fish or pier fish, water sports, shop, as well as dine out either North or South with the same amount of travel time. For our family and friends, it is the perfect walking distance for both sound side and ocean side activities.
