Local Restaurants
Ulverston has plenty of restaurants, eating pubs and cafes. Mexican, Chinese,Italian/pizzas and Indian and tapas. There is a lovely cosy tea shop on Market Street called Gillams. We would recommend The Farmers situated in the centre of town as it is usually busy bustling and has good pub food a lot of our clients have been pleased with this choice. It has just been refurbished and is stunning. Loweswater gold is recommended if you like a real ale. We recommend booking the Farmers tel 01229 584469 Other places include the Mill and The Rose and Crown but you will see many others all within 5 mins walk. All are reasonably good food. For a special night out we recommend the Bay Horse situated at end of the Canal overlooking the Bay…(old Bay Crossing pub) Good for a walk (prob 1.5 mile) down the canal then lunch in the Conservatory or in the bar where we love the tasty pulled pork sandwich!! There are also many fabulous eating places in the Southern Lake District about 20 minutes away.
