Quarme Cottage is one of 6 cottages converted from the original farm buildings in 1989. It is situated in Exmoor National Park and within walking distance (across the fields) of Wheddon Cross with a pub, village shop and petrol station. Within easy driving distance of local attractions: 7 miles from the medieval village of Dunster and Dunster Castle, Porlock and Tarr Steps, 9 miles from the beach & West Somerset Steam Railway.
Our cottages are set within 18 acres of our own grounds comprising gardens and fields with private access to a bridlepath and footpaths. There's a huge BBQ, picnic tables and a sunny south facing terrace - perfect for a cup of tea or early evening G & T! We also have a barn with table tennis, small pool table, table football & board games. Groups are also welcome to use the barn to eat together.
We'll give you a delicious Somerset cream tea when you get here.
Quarme Cottage has a stunning south facing open position facing down the Quarme Valley. Lounge windows face east and west. There’s an enclosed garden with garden furniture and to the front of the cottage is a large area of grass under a huge beech tree with panoramic rural views.
The lounge area has two three seater sofas, dining table and six chairs, 32″ TV with SKY Freeview and DVD player. Fireplace with a cast iron electric stove and two radiators.
On the same floor is a small bunk bedroom leading from the lounge with full-sized bunks and radiator. We advise this room is booked for children only.
There’s a modern kitchen with dishwasher, fridge and separate freezer, washing machine, microwave, electric hob and oven, ample china, pots and pans, kettle, toaster etc. Tea towels, washing up liquid, surface cleaner and washing powder are provided.
Upstairs there is one double and one twin bedroom each with comfortable beds made up for your arrival with fresh cotton bed linen. Heating is provided by radiators in both bedrooms, on the landing and in the bathroom. The bathroom has a bath with shower over. Towels and loo rolls are provided.
Quarme Cottage sleeps six and best for a family - having only one bathroom it would be uncomfortable for six adults. There is a £15 charge per dog per stay which will be added to your booking confirmation after you book on the Vrbo website.
Up to two dogs are welcome in Quarme Cottage.
There is an unfenced pond in the grounds so small children should be supervised.
