Fazana, situated on the western coast of Istria, is a small fishing and tourist town by the sea, located just 8 km from Pula and 6 km from Vodnjan. Fazana has a long history of producing amphorae, wine, and olive oil due to its mild Mediterranean climate and natural resources. The town was historically known for its fishing tradition and even hosted one of the largest sardine factories on the Adriatic, with an impressive fleet of 47 boats. Every August, a festival dedicated to sardines, known as "Fešta od srdela," is held, where guests can savor various sardine specialties. Visitors can even participate in the traditional School of Sardine Salting. Today, Fazana serves as the main harbor and departure point for boats traveling to the Brijuni Islands National Park. Boats depart several times a day and reach the National Park in just 20 minutes.
