Aberfeldy is situated just to the south of Glen Lyon, which is widely regarded as Scotland's most extended, isolated, and beautiful valley. Notwithstanding the bridge built in 1733 for General Wade, the town is famous for its association with Burns and his poem The Birks Of Aberfeldy. The beautiful scenery is just one of several attractions available to visitors. Trails go through the woods and through the countryside, and there's even a 10-mile path that follows the river. Both the Rob Roy Way and Cycle Route 7 pass close to Aberfeldy. Rafting the whitewater of the River Tay is an exciting way to see the scenery.
