Cigarette smell in entire home

The home was clean to the eyes but the smell of cigarette smoke smell hit like a ton of bricks entering the home. Management was called upon our arrival ~ nothing could be done that day. Relocation was offered but not a good option for us. Management did give a reduction in rental cost. Housekeeping had advised Management the of the smell prior to our arrival. At a rate average of over 600$ a night we expected better.

Great stay! Would definitely recommend!

My kids and I travelled to Gulf Shores with large group of friends. We intended to all stay in a big house that a friend rented, but I decided fairly last-minute that there were way too many people in that house for my more introverted self. So I got to searching and found this awesome home! It was so clean, nicely decorated, and had the amenities necessary for a family. The ice maker and full size washer and dryer were very handy. The bedrooms and baths were very nice, the house light and bright, and the community pool was fantastic! There is a walking trail right behind the home, and a lovely back porch with a beautiful view of the lagoon. There’s covered parking too, which was really convenient, plus a beach wagon, bike, etc. This is a great place - I would definitely stay here again!

Excellent Stay

Even though we did run into a couple of minor hiccups I would still have to say this was one of the best stays I have ever experienced in a rental property. The house was extremely clean and the location was nice. The house was huge for this rental price and it had an acceptable bay view. As for the negatives or cons, please note that the location is extremely under lit. Prior to arrival, this seemed like a minor complaint from a previous reviewer. However, we arrived after dark and I immediately realized that this was not a minor issue. The entire neighborhood and area in general is under lit. So we couldn't even see well enough to find the housing complex for us to turn in to get to the house. We passed it multiple times even with the GPS on. Then the house itself was not lit very well and I essentially had to feel around to make sure that I made it to the top of the stairs to attempt to locate the lockbox for the key. Once I found the lockbox I was unable to actually retrieve the key. Eventually we were able to enter the house but this was only because the door doesn't actually lock at all. So I basically pulled on the door and it opened! No key needed! Lol!! We were too tired to care at that point so we went in, unloaded the car and I sent a message to the rental company about the key issue. We stayed for 2 nights and the key issue with the unlocked door were never addressed or corrected but that also tells you how safe we felt because we never even worried about being there with an unlocked door. The next thing you should know is when on the back balcony, you will feel like your neighbors are RIGHT THERE. The houses/cottages are in very close proximity to each other so when they are on their balcony and you are on yours you guys are kind of forced to interact because of the close proximity. There is no way to go outside without at least looking at your neighbors on both the left and right sides of your balcony and hearing their conversations even if they whisper. Another notable con to staying here is the proximity of this house to the beach. The house is actually located on the bay with a view of the bay from the balcony. The actual beach can not be accessed without a little bit of a walk (about 5 minutes going to your left from the house down the asphalt trail). You will see that the beach is located directly across the street from the cottage community. However, those are all private homes that do not allow you to access the beach by simply walking across the street. Instead, you have to walk down the street to the nearest beach access. As a final note, there are lots of stairs! If you have a mobility issue or any type, this is not the house for you. There is a steep flight of stairs just to get to the front door then two more flights of stairs once you enter the house for you to get to the bedroom. You will definitely get in a good leg workout when unloading and loading your vehicle with luggage and all. Those are the main things that I wish we had known prior to going to this property. With that being said, it's an extremely nice location and I still give it 5 stars. And VACASA is an amazing rental company. We did not have a checklist to complete upon exiting the property and that was soooo AMAZING! All in all, this is a 5 star location and I would definitely recommend it if you are okay with the cons list.

Will be back!!!

I loved the rental home for our stay. Great location. Was my first time in Gulf Shores and I will definitely be back and will definitely rental another home with you. My new way to vacation now!!!!!
